What's your dream breed?

If work, time and money was no longer an issue and you had unlimited funds and all day to devote to a dog, which breed would you pick and is it any different from the breed you have at the moment?

I have a beagle and much to my husbands' disgust, I'd just have an entire pack of beagles

Golden Retriever, show line, again and again and again, plus shares in Miele, the only vacuum cleaner which could cope with the tumbleweed of shed fur.

A golden retriever. I just melt when I see them.

Flat Coated Retriever. Every time… I have had dogs all my life but this is my first FCR, and I can’t imagine ever being without one now. The sweetest, silliest, most loving dogs in the world. I heard them referred to as ‘the Peter Pan of the dog world’ once which has been absolutely true with mine - she’s 3 and is still as energetic and excitable as when she was 6 months old!

A can corso or Caucasian shepherd 😍😍

I’d also want another Golden Doodle (yes I know he’s not a breed), but three months after my husband was killed, I was fast tracked for endometrial cancer. Fortunately, I didn’t have it and as a treat I bought a Golden Doodle puppy. He has given me a reason to live.

I have my ideal dog (Chow Chow) but if I could have any other it would be a Tibetan Mastiff.

Appealing thats interesting, I never see significant RR hairs anywhere - even when I put my glasses on for cleaning! Unlike my OH's dobermann which does leave spikey hairs. My two RRs that I had from puppies were fine with other dogs but my current one was rehomed and she is often bad with other strange dogs but this could be from an incident before we had her.

If I had no concern for the practicalities I’d get a beagle. I grew up with them but every single one had poor recall and were generally very naughty. Cutest dogs in the world though.

I love french bull dogs too but wouldn’t get one because of the breed health issues.

If I could magic up the energy and patience to go with a beagle, id have one in a flash - they're such characters.

Otherwise I'd love a Clumber spaniel or a basset.

Ive always fancied A Bernese Mountain Dog which is a bit a mad dream dog that will never happen. At the other end of the scale, I’ve always wanted a Maltese too. My other dream doggie was a miniature dachshund which I now have and, the reality is even better than the dream! 😍 I also couldn’t live without a spaniel of some type (I have one of those too!)

Honestly, beagles aren't as energetic as you think!

Mine has to be prized out of bed in the mornings and after his walk, he go goes straight under his blanket and back to sleep

We will only have Newfies from now on, according to DH who didn't want her in the first place, but I also have a soft spot for Schnauzers.

And Leonbergers and Berners and Goldens and all sorts of others.

Italian Spinone. The gentlest souls ever, with the most soulful eyes. Take any amount of toddler mountaineering. Carry half their supper in their beards so they can shake it up the walls. Hair and mud everywhere. But they have my heart.

I saw a beautiful little blonde kokoni girl in a rescue miles away a few years ago and I've been desperate for one since.
I'd love a little golden Retriever x dachshund, I love their little faces.
Alaskan Klee Kai's are adorable and DH loves Samoyed's. In a perfect world we'd have all of these plus all the German shepherds and pitbulls in shelters. I don't want much do I haha.
