How many of you share your bed space with your pooch?

yes , under the covers, very warm and comforting.

BrokenBrit · 01/12/2019 08:54

Yep 2/4 of mine sleep on the bed Grin

BrennieGirl · 01/12/2019 08:58

He sleeps on the sofa at night. But he has free reign of the house during the day so he's usually found on whichever bed has the sun shining on it.

He's a sight hound so he sleeps for hours and hours every day. He can be a bit full on when he's awake (he follows me around like a not so little sticking plaster and almost sits on top of me on the sofa) so sometimes it's a relief when he's conked out for a few hours upstairs!

I do think it's a bit gross to have a dog on the bed though but I haven't the heart to tell him off. I change the beds frequently.

My DSis has a miniature Jack Russell who sleeps under the covers down at the end of the bed. I don't know how she doesn't suffocate! DSis says it's like having a permanently warm hot water bottle by her feet. The dog has a little stool by the bed so she can jump up easily.

IAmAboutToLoseMyShit · 01/12/2019 09:01

Absolutely. He decides and we have no say.

GrouchyKiwi · 01/12/2019 09:07

Nope, because she's a Newfie so there wouldn't be any space for us. Grin

She's also not allowed upstairs at all so the cats have a safe space.

Frlrlrubert · 01/12/2019 09:22

Yep, though the younger one takes herself downstairs if DD is sleeping with us, she doesn't like sharing with a fidgety 3 year old.

The cat occasionally joins us if it's a cold night.

KatyaK · 01/12/2019 09:23

DDog sleeps on our bed with me if DH is away, I do love the excitement and cuddles in the morning when he realises I'm awake Grin

Yeahnahyeah1 · 01/12/2019 09:25

Oh god I always said I would never be that person but... yes he does. Sometimes he’s under the duvet too Blush he’s only a small poodle cross tho, so doesn’t bother me too much. No moulting and he is so so lazy, so unobtrusive. My DH works super long hours so he’s very nice company, all warm and snuggly and comforting 🥰

PenelopeFlintstone · 01/12/2019 09:30

No. They’re very dusty from outside, would move around and wake me up, plus I’m allergic to them now. They have two large beds in our mud room. They could sleep together but don’t.

Pinkandpurplehairedlady · 01/12/2019 09:30

Mine sleeps under the covers snuggled up to me:). He knows my bedtime routine and soon as he sees me head to the stairs with a cup of tea he races upstairs and waits for me to lift the covers for him.

BigusBumus · 01/12/2019 09:33

Don't know what that was, oops!

ReallyLoveChickens · 01/12/2019 09:37

Of course!

BigusBumus · 01/12/2019 09:38

Mine do. Only one of the Jack Russell's overnight though. The other two are in the kitchen at night.

Mummyshark2018 · 01/12/2019 09:39

Yes though on top of covers and at the bottom of the bed

NamechangeoutedbyMIL · 01/12/2019 09:43

Yes Blush

They never used too but when me and DP took a break and I lived alone for a while, I struggled to sleep in a bed alone. So, up the dogs came.

Now we live together again it's a bit inconvenient with 2 dogs and 2 humans in a double bed but the little one went absolutely mental when we tried to get her to go back to her own bed in the kitchen (the bigger one didn't mind) so now we just deal with it.

QueenOfOversharing · 01/12/2019 09:45

Two of them & one of me in a king size bed. Staffy is so well behaved & starts off on top of duvet (sometimes goes under later in the night). But the beagle is so annoying that every night I say never again. He has to lie by my head, so I take the other pillow off. He settles, I start falling asleep then he smashes his big paw on my head to indicate he wants the duvet lifting for him Hmm then spends ages circling & huffing. But look at them!

@GrouchyKiwi I looooooove Newfies! Can I see a pic, please? We had friends who lived locally who had 2 (brother & sister) from puppies, but sister had to go back to breeder as she wasn't coping living in the city. Their boy, Wilbur, was my staffy's favourite dog to meet. Paws like a bear & he'd always smash one on me. Such a gorgeous dog.

lisag1969 · 01/12/2019 09:54

Yes my dog sleeps with me every night. No just on my bed, but under the duvet if it's cold. Just give the sheet a quick hoover in the morning. We are actually in bed now having a cuddle. Love it snuggling with him call him my little hot water bottle.

ysmaem · 01/12/2019 10:00

Yes, he's a small dog so he even has his own set pf stairs to get up and down the bed 😂

TheoriginalLEM · 01/12/2019 10:05

Yes one sleeps under the covers between me and DP, usually at foot level so nice foot warmer! The other one used to but would jump off the minute we moved.

GoGoLego · 01/12/2019 10:05

Classic thing of the dog will not be allowed on any furniture sofa or bed. 2 weeks in fine puppy allowed on sofa. 2 year in dog decided that a bed looks comfy and like a sofa. Now she takes up the whole bed and gets the hump if I have to move her to get into MY bed Envy

Should add she's only allowed on my bed

Mjlp · 01/12/2019 10:08

Yes, at the bottom, next to the cat 🤣

adaline · 01/12/2019 10:08

@QueenOfOversharing typical beagle pose! Grin
