How many of you share your bed space with your pooch?

@adaline OMG he is gorgeous!! I have a staffy too, but why are beagles just so goofy? And how is that comfortable?

@QueenOfOversharing oh what a gorgeous pair - it's nice to see the love for beagles on here 'cause I hear nothing but negativity normally!

They do sleep in weird positions don't they?! Mine was sleeping for over an hour last night with his head dangling off the sofa...

Ah so good to hear we’re not the only pushovers when it comes to our pets.

We have two whippets and they sleep under the duvet with us.

Absolutely! My 16 month old cavapoo slept in a crate next to my daughters bed for three months and now sleeps with me. We have a 9 week old cockerpoo who sleeps with my daughter. Sometimes we all sleep in one bed! Both dogs never cried and slept through from day one, they only get up in morning when we do. Probably helps that they don't shed, are small and bathed regularly

My dogs not even allowed in the house. She stays In the kitchen next to radiator on a nice bed. I've got 2 young children so rather not risk it, especially when some dogs can get possessive of things if they are let to sleep on them... Like beds!! also very unhygienic to have hairs everywhere and all over your bed!

Goodness me, poor dog! Why on earth do you have a pet that you won't allow to be part of your family? If it's too dangerous to allow around your kids, surely it's not a suitable pet for your family?

What kind of dog is she Ohmygod123? What role does she play in your family?

Thankfully ours doesn't come into the bedrooms at all (doesn't like laminate), we put a bed down at night and he sleeps on the landing outside our rooms. He's a labrador, currently in moult and the hair is horrendous, so not really a nice thought him in our bed 😱

If we ever have another dog after BiteyDog I will definitely let them sleep on the bed once house trained. I never realised how nice it is for everyone.

First few years they weren't allowed upstairs. But not practical in the house I have now and they move from bed to bed. Really comforting actually.

@adaline I arrange a monthly walk in London for beagles - we love them. I get comments almost every day we're out "oooh bet you don't let him off the lead","oh they don't listen to a thing", etc etc. I grew up with one & this guy's a rescue. He's honestly so easy! I just have a tracker on him for squirrel chasing season. Hmm

@QueenOfOversharing that's awesome! Ours goes off-lead too - we live in Cumbria and he was running all over the fells this morning!

When we decided to go for a beagle I searched old threads on here and they all said how awful beagles were for novice owners - I'm so glad I didn't listen because he's been the best thing that's happened to us!

@QueenOfOversharing They're such lovely dogs.

Here she is being suspicious of the wig I wore for Halloween, checking out my gloves (she's obsessed with them), and looking ridiculous wearing a nappy while asleep during her season (so she could come into the living room with us).

No. Ours lives in the kitchen. Sleeps on the kitchen sofa when we're at home during the day/evenings. But closed in her crate at night. Ideally would like to get rid of the crate and get her a nice cosy bed but she destroys them all. Have tried pet mats, mattresses, blankets. She's now taken to chewing the base of the crate 🙈 Favourite thing really is sucking on the end of a blanket though then shredding it bit by bit. Really wouldn't fancy that in bed.

I let my dog sleep in my bed off and on but it's a rod for my own back as if I let her once she cries the next night till shes allowed back in. Shes a wee chihuahua who somehow takes up more of the bed than I do.

Yes mine sleeps on mine or the dcs bed. I wouldn't leave him on his own downstairs

Mine does that in his dog beds, but in our bed he just curls up and goes to sleep!

@Ohmygod123 why do you even have a dog? Makes me so angry when people get pets then do this

Yes. When we first got him - managed all of five minutes. Although he tends to sleep with DS15 now.

@Ohmygod123 do you mean your dog confined to one room? Dogs are incredibly social animals, is it getting enough social interaction and stimulation being just in the kitchen?

Dd Of is very flexible.

Happy to sleep on the sofa.

Happy to sleep on a blanket in the kitchen is lounge has someone in the sofa bed.

Happiest of all on the 2 nights a week and occasional weekend when dh works - then he's on the bed with me!
