Anyone up? My old boy is ill.

My dog has prostatitis. He's been hospitalised, but home tonight because he wouldn't eat. They hoped home comforts and favourite foods would tempt him. So far no luck (came home about 10pm).

I'm on the living room floor with him tonight. DH has gone to our bed, as he's working tomorrow.

Any hand holding or advice gratefully recieved. I'm so scared he's not going to pull through this. (He's almost 13, a Lhasa Apso.) He's been asleep but wakes up crying and tries to change position then dozes off again. Going back to vet first thing in morning so trying to just let him sleep and not worry too much, so I can get some sleep, but its easier said than done

I do, took over two years after losing my baby, but now have this rascal

I'm so sorry to hear your boy is suffering OP. I've spent many a night on the couch to be near a sick dog. I hope he is able to pull through but, if not, I'm glad you could have this night with him. Please give him a little pat from me.

Thank you all. He's asleep again. He could go back to emergency vet, they've said they'll stop off his painkillers, but too let him out then not worry if he settled after going out

@AndroidSheep I can’t sleep knowing someone is in pain may need my absolutely useless chat. I don’t need to get up tomorrow so here as long as you need it, but do sleep whenever your baby does x
