We had a lovely long walk this afternoon with BastardPup - he had a fair bit of off lead time too.

My whole house is filthy. There are muddy paw marks all over the living room carpet and the front garden looks like the Somme. Not liking this aspect of Winter dog owning

BiteyShark · 28/12/2018 06:29

I hope distantDog gets used to her new booties. BiteyDog thinks he's going to get hurt whenever I do anything like that given he's had his paw pad stapled in the past and his paws manhandled with dressings. Our paw print capture is still work in progress Hmm

BunchOfBastards I hate the mud. Now we have fake grass to play on in the garden our kitchen floor doesn't get too muddy as I try and rinse BiteyDog straight after walks in the forest. My car on the other hand looks terrible after a couple of walks.

BiteyShark · 28/12/2018 11:10

Well I wasn't expecting to get out for a walk today so decided to take a different route. Thank god for google maps as it was very disorientating in the fog and a few times I had to double check we were heading back to the car.

BiteyShark · 29/12/2018 17:38

I think BiteyDog and me is missing daycare. Despite taking him for walks and balls and training he looks bored and isn't as settled as usual. He won't go back until the new year but I think he will be very happy to see his doggy pals. It's times like this I think about a second dog but we can't afford two lots of daycare and a second dog wouldn't negate that so have to forget that idea.

On the positives though it's lovely spending all this time with him and not having to juggle work.

Wolfiefan · 29/12/2018 21:06

Post him here! Wolfie didn’t meet any friends today and she isn’t impressed. Grin

BiteyShark · 30/12/2018 05:26

He's on his way Wolfie Wink

I think I might have to get the agility equipment out today to just do something different with him.

Wolfiefan · 30/12/2018 08:24

Yay! Wolfie girl will be pleased. Grin

distantdog · 30/12/2018 19:06

Three apples on the 1.25 m high kitchen shelf (she would have to jump to get them!!) found with teeth marks in by her bed... what is particularly annoying about this is that a) I had deliberately set them aside and specifically told DH they were MY apples and b) whereas she loves eating the - by now very rotten - apples she digs up from the snow underneath all the local trees, she clearly had no interest in eating my crisp, fresh Granny Smiths but just wanted to play with them! Hmm

Wishing you all a happy new year and hoping no dogs too spooked by fireworks etc. tomorrow night. We have got so many people here and so much noise going on (though no one in our actual flat which we have kept as her "safe space") that I'm sure Ddog can't wait for the "festive season" to finish. I know how she feels.... Grin

BiteyShark · 31/12/2018 07:58

DistantDog probably thought the apples were odd looking balls Grin. BiteyDog like apple but only certain apples Hmm.

We are going to have to stay in today as BiteyDog jumped off the spare bed yesterday and had a noticeable limp afterwards. He had fallen over on his face on the walk when running yesterday so that might have been the cause.

No ball play for him for a few days Sad. It's so hard balancing his enjoyment with the risk of injury. I guess it's going to be hunt the piles of cheese around the house today for exercise instead.

BiteyShark · 31/12/2018 18:03

Hope everyone is having a good New Year's Eve. We are having a quiet one as not really into parties. Poor BiteyDog ran flying in earlier from the garden as the fireworks have started already AngrySad

Wolfiefan · 31/12/2018 18:04

Yes fireworks here at 5. One cat out and dog absolutely terrified. All in. I’m getting my PJs on soon. Shall be knitting, reading and binge watching until I’m sure all is quiet.

BiteyShark · 31/12/2018 18:18

I have wine poured and watching tv Grin.

Wolfiefan · 31/12/2018 18:20

I’ve had a beer to calm my nerves once I got the cat in. Wine soon. Here’s hoping my liver doesn’t fall out before 2019! Blush

BiteyShark · 31/12/2018 18:29

I need to lose weight in the new year so going to have to cut out the alcohol to do that so I am just 'finishing off' the last bit we have Grin.

Wolfiefan · 31/12/2018 18:31

So should I. But if I drank all the alcohol In this house tonight then I would end up in a coma. And that’s best case scenario! Grin

BiteyShark · 31/12/2018 19:42

Well if I run out of wine I know where to come knocking Wine

Just had to escort BiteyDog out for a pee incase a firework went off. He did the quickest pee ever Grin

Wolfiefan · 31/12/2018 19:46

Managed to get Wolfie out for her supper. (Raw so in the garden.)
Oh we have wine. And gin (various) And port. And Buck’s Fizz nobody has drunk. And Baileys. And gin liqueur. Blush

BiteyShark · 01/01/2019 06:15

Happy new year everyone 🍾

thegirlsallgrowedupnow · 01/01/2019 09:17

Happy New Year!
I think I drank my body weight in wine and fizz last night🤪 So am verrrry slow this morning. Luckily Cocodog seems similarly all partied out

BiteyShark · 01/01/2019 10:03

Should we whisper thegirls Wink. Are you sure Cocodog wasn't on the juice as well Grin.

Wolfiefan · 01/01/2019 10:04

Finally got to bed about 12:45. Loads of fireworks. Tired now. So is pup!!

BiteyShark · 01/01/2019 10:19

Yeah we are feeling it today despite no party. DH took BiteyDog into the spare room at midnight as the fireworks kicked off to try and calm him. I did wonder if he was really stressed and scared all night after the evening one went off outside as his breathing was about 60 breaths a minute at rest Shock and we both sat watching him most of the night wondering whether he was ok.

So glad to get back to normal.

BiteyShark · 01/01/2019 18:32

Nooooooooooooooo. Fireworks are going off again Angry

Wolfiefan · 01/01/2019 18:43

Oh bloody hell. I’ve got the cats in just in case they kick off here. Wolfie is starving at the moment so not settling anyway. I could really do with one quiet evening and an early night. And a break from sodding cooking. Hmm

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 01/01/2019 18:45

We took BastardPup to the beach today but forgot to check the tide times. It was in. We managed a wander on the very narrow strip left but no off lead time.

Have found a fabulous walk near us which everyone and their dog uses - it takes us about an hour and a half and he loves it. Lots of chances to be off lead too.
