What a beautiful dog!

Not a stealth boast, honest, but I have a very beautiful dog and people regularly compliment her. I usually say something like 'Aww, thanks', resulting in an awkward silence and a slightly face from them. I mean, I know I didn't make her, I'm just acknowledging the compliment! How do you respond?

I get the same. Although handsome and well behaved are also included.

I usually joke that our cat takes after my husband.

I get the same. People will literally cross the road to come and fuss him, ask if they can take pictures of him..talk to me for ages about him! Think I should start charging

I get the same with ours. Usually goes:
Passerby: Oh, what a lovely dog!
Me: He is, isn't he?

I had this today...I don't remember well what I said actually, but think I said thanks! As in thanks for the compliment and for coming to say it. I don't think it's weird really....? Or maybe I'm just defending it because I just did it

The only thing people ever find to compliment about my black and tan mutt's appearance is how curly his tail is ("thank you")

And sometimes how well behaved / confident / fast / playful he is (I nod sagely knowing that he's brilliant in the park and at home and... challenging on the street)

And don't forget to compliment their dog back

Usually "thank you, yes they're gorgeous aren't they". Then smile manically because they most def are!

I often get this about one of my dogs. (The other has a nice personality )...they usually say something like 'oh isn't she beautiful...' to which I pithily reply 'and the dogs not bad either'. I'm comedy gold .

So sorry, I am a complete luddite and cannot for the life of me work out how to do pics on the app. But she is a brindle and white lurcher with charcoal spots all over the white parts like a fawn, big sad eyes, black stripes on her cheeks and extremely soft fur.

She sounds like a beauty. Figure out the pic function as I love dog pics!
