Glad she seems ok Wolfie. It's never ending the worry isn't it.

Happy Easter as well girlsallgrowedup. The flowers sound lovely. On the occasions we have flowers in the house they always cheer me up and I often think I should buy more.

Bad toilet training day today, we took him out regularly today as always and he's been peeing on the floor in between. We made sure we cleaned and carpet vaxed any other previous accidents and praised him for outdoor pees but he still did it. We know he can hold it for a good while as he holds on over night no accidents at all! Can't see why we've gone backwards all of a sudden. Indy's just turned 11 months.

Goood I remember BiteyDog having a couple of accidents around that age which was a total surprise as he has been toilet trained for ages before. I just watched him more and made sure he went out regularly and praised him and he didn't do it again.

Goood I remebered now what happened. The first was he just came in and decided to pee on the kitchen mat. It was a new one so maybe he didn't like the smell as I washed it and it never happened again.

The second one we were about to play ball in the corridor and he just stopped and decided to pee.

Never happened afterwards but as I said I did reinforce the whole 'outside' is the place to go.

Jeez, has someone been doing a rain dance again. Weather warning for rain for the next two days starting this evening. Because I did some gardening yesterday, filling in patches of lawn with soil and grass seed that were dead from urine burn looks sternly at BiteyDog I now have lots of muddy paw prints everywhere and it's only going to get worse ☹️

Just taken BiteyDog out for a quick lead walk before the bad weather hits. Was contemplating whether he was well enough but given he was bouncing around the garden yesterday chasing pigeons I figured a lead walk wouldn't hurt him Grin. He did though try and pull me over all the time with excitement Angry

Thanks. Weather seems a bit better today so hopefully that'll help.

That's great Goood, hopefully it was just a blip.

Well we would have been on our holiday now but instead all of us fell asleep for most of the day in front of the tv Grin

SquirrelDog is knackered Grin We went to stay with my family on Friday, which he finds so unbearably exciting that he refused to settle, or sleep, or eat properly. Then, on the way home yesterday we went to the pub which was really busy and there were loads of people who wanted to say hello to him and lots of children dropping food and also they had a pond with DUCKS.

Got home about 8, he ate his dinner, went straight to bed, and woke up at almost 10 this morning. Grin He’s not really cut out for socialising...

Sounds like SquirrelDog had a very busy weekend Grin

He's also got a busy week coming up - the man who cleans the oven is coming on Tuesday and he's got an agility lesson / opportunity to run round and round the paddock like a nutter on Thursday Grin

Cocodog even manages to find my elderly parents coming for lunch super exciting although she did get a marrowbone so in fairness it probably was🙄

Taking teatimetoller for his first swim for months this morning. Normally he swims most days and it’s one of his absolute favourite things to do so we’ve all been missing it. He’s obviously feeling so much better- he’s not at all stiff and he’s been choosing to jump onto/over things (he loves jumping so when he was avoiding it we knew something was wrong). We’ve not been letting him play with other dogs yet as I’m not sure he’s quite ready for the crazy chasing/wrestling games he enjoys but he’s been looking interested which is another good sign. Hideous weather here but he doesn’t mind!

Hope teatimetoller enjoys his swim. Glad to hear he's up for his usual play.

Awful weather here as well so we have another day in front of the tv.

More snow here again today. Eric loves it though so will no doubt be traipsing miles again later. Exh has the pleasure of this morning's walk though Grin
Eric was in a strop yesterday, think he thought it might have been Christmas and so was miffed when I handed out the Easter eggs and he didn't get one.
Had to hide them in the end because he kept staring at them and giving me the stink eye Hmm Conveniently forgotten I had given him a dish of turkey and a sausage not an hour earlier.

flesh they really know how to make you feel awful don't they with 'the stare' Grin. BiteyDog having been overfed due to the loss of weight and having additional cod fillets still looked at me with 'those eyes' when I was eating a piece of cheesecake yesterday Hmm

Ooh can I join in? Leonberger here. Just been to the groomers for a wash n blow dry and now it is tipping down. And leo’s Love bring wet and cold 😩 he is 11 months old and a total alpha dog. Thinking about getting him a companion. Maybe not another Leo but a wolfhound so would be interested to hear Wolfie’s views on temperament. We also have a show coming up at the KC but I have been a bit lax about training so need to get my arse in gear. He sat down for the whole of the last show. Unsurprisingly didn’t win minor puppy 😂

Of course you can join in Pradaqueen, the more the merrier.

He looks lovely but yes not great if he likes rain and mud Grin.

I sometimes ponder about a second dog but then soon remember the stress and expense and go back to liking BiteyDog being an only.

I'm still looking for a full time dog here to fit in with Eric's part time status. I'm not going to rush though, initially I wanted any dog to fill the gap but now I only want the right dog to fill the gap I suppose.
I think I've narrowed it down to small, mature bitch, preferably poodle although I keep being drawn to the ones on the oldies website so who knows?

Bitey - I think I have convinced myself that he is lonely and needs a sibling. However I look at the physical space he takes up and think, hmm maybe not another one but I do prefer giant breeds as they are so gentle.

BiteyShark · 02/04/2018 09:43

flesh good luck with the hunting.

queen I am lucky with BiteyDog going to daycare so he gets to play with other dogs but I know he likes his own space at home. But the real truth is I don't think I could cope with double the work and stress Wink

Grin at Eric thinking it’s Christmas!

Every so often I think I’d love another dog, maybe another lovely Spaniel or I quite fancy a Lab, and SquirrelDog loves Spaniels and Labs and he’s quite an anxious dog so he’d probably benefit from having a more confident sibling...

And then I remember that I absolutely do not have the money or the space or the time, or the will to clean up twice the amount of mud!

Report
BiteyShark · 02/04/2018 10:05

Oh god, yes double the mud. Can't see how I could fit two dogs in the bath as the same time without it being chaos Grin

Hugedog no longer fits the bath in the house 😱 hence he goes for a wash n blow dry. He’s blowing his winter and puppy coat at the moment so only a professional would have the patience to strip it. I’d be like my mum doing my hair when I was 7. Just ‘ow’ 😂
