Oh no more poorly dogs Sad. I hate the fact that they can't tell you what's wrong so you have to second guess everything.

Yes so far I can't decide between claw trimming, leaping out of the car down the ramp, playing or sleeping in the same position is the cause. She's a bit better today. I just wish I could ask her how it feels and dose her up on Calpol. Sad

GooodMythicalMorning · 27/04/2018 11:05

Oh no sorry to hear that. Hope teatimetoller feels better soon

BiteyShark · 27/04/2018 11:29

Wolfie when BiteyDog had a limp and it eventually turned out that he had fractured his claw the vet really did pull hard and manipulate the leg/shoulder to determine whether it was anything else so maybe if she isn't better by next week a vet check up might be worth it.

We are having work done in the garden today and BiteyDog really doesn't like having strangers around. Fortunately he's now quiet having barked at them for 10 minutes but he is constantly running up and down watching them. I don't think I will bother with any walks today as it's heavy rain and that's keeping him occupied Grin

OP posts:
GooodMythicalMorning · 27/04/2018 12:15

Grin yeah take advantage of it whilst you can. Indy is having a nap but will have to take him out for a walk later but might delay it til after the school run when already wet.

Wolfiefan · 27/04/2018 13:07

She alternates between hobbling and tearing round the garden like a loon. She's on very light exercise and miserable. It is much better. But if it doesn't get totally better I will obviously take her to the vet. Just don't want to run up there and get fleeced every time there's something out of the ordinary with the foot chewing three legged beast!

BiteyShark · 27/04/2018 13:32

I have to admit I am pleased we aren't going back and forth to the vets anymore at the moment. I think BiteyDog has hay fever of some form but we were given a general eye wash from the vets last year when we had the same problem which we used at the beginning of week and his eyes are fortunately back to normal.

Goood I definitely think I will sit out the walk today Grin. Hope you manage to find a break in the rain.

Yeah dh is bakc, he's been away 3 weeks, and I have had my fill of looking after everyone, especially walking the dog because all promised help from ds and dd1 didn't happen

Went off with dd2 to an event, was able to leave the house for 6 hours without a plan, and came back to a happy walked dog!

steppedog was funny though, he hear dh coming before he opened the door and he went nuts. Barking and barking (he isn't usually a barker) and jumping at the doorr.

Even the cat was pleased to see him, slept between us on the bed all night!

AvocadosBeforeMortgages · 27/04/2018 19:05

I'm away at the moment. Have to say I'm looking forward to the overexcited greeting from PestDog when I get home Grin

thegirlsallgrowedupnow · 27/04/2018 22:16

Envious of those who can swerve rainy walks. We go rain, wind, snow or shine although I am noticing an enthusiasm to get back indoors when very wet! Cocodog met a new young Labrador friend in the woods and ended up very muddy...has had a bath, supper, one of her favourite CDs, Emily Sante...a brushing, a biscuit and is currently residing* upside down in her basket. Bedtime very soon. Tis a dogs life😀

BiteyShark · 28/04/2018 06:14

Glad your DH is back and you are getting a break steppemum

Avocados I am sure you will get a lovely greeting when you return from PestDog. We always get a 'wiggle dance' from BiteyDog Grin

thegirl I can happily skip walks but not ball play so in between the rain I had to run out and throw the ball in the garden for 5 mins otherwise I would have had an unhappy dog. He really doesn't care for walks as long as he can chase a ball for a bit so I am always a bit Hmm when I see people say cockers need hours of walks a day Grin

We have had lots of new plants put into the garden so expecting lots of muddy paw prints in the house today as BiteyDog can't resist going in the beds to have a sniff Angry

thegirlsallgrowedupnow · 28/04/2018 07:34

I love a wiggle dance greeting, if I have been out for an hour or so she is more interested in the contents of my shopping bags but full on wiggle if she has been in the company of DH all day and is pleased I am home😜
Cocodog hides her treasures all round the garden including burying her bone in the flower beds unless I spot her. She even tucks her football away and then emerges with it late afternoon so we can kick it for her. This is one dog who loves a routine🙄

BiteyShark · 28/04/2018 08:53

thegirl with the wiggle dance sounds like the spaniel in Cocodog Grin

BiteyDog has a new nickname, 'the theiving shoe stealing ball obsessed bad dog' Grin

I was so trying not to laugh when he kept stealing DHs shoes and taking them outside to convince him to play ball with him in the garden.

OP posts:
bluetongue · 29/04/2018 13:33

I have a shoe stealing dog too! Bluepuppy will steal any shoe not on a foot or securely stored away and take it outside to use as a new toy.

BiteyShark · 29/04/2018 14:17

blue they are so funny aren't they Grin. Fortunately BiteyDog doesn't chew them but instead tries to entice you to follow him into the garden to get them off him Grin

OP posts:
steppemum · 29/04/2018 22:20

since the nice weather, steepdog has become a thief, if the back door is open, he likes to collect items at the bottom of the garden, socks, items from the dirty washing basket, toys, shoes, slippers, he just colelcts them and carries them down the garden!

GooodMythicalMorning · 30/04/2018 09:42

Indys a shoe thief too. And my bras! If we leave the stairgate open by mistake he always finds one Hmm

Trying to get him to stop chewing the sofa as the new one comes next week!

BiteyShark · 30/04/2018 09:52

The problem is you can't stay mad at them as they give you those 'forgive me eyes' Grin

I went for a shower last night and when I left everyone was happy. On my return BiteyDog was in bad books with DH having decided to have a wrestle with him using the blanket which now has a big hole in it Hmm

OP posts:
GooodMythicalMorning · 30/04/2018 09:56

My trouble is dh laughs when he's doing something naughty therefore Indy doesnt get the message he's not allowed to. Everything then is a game. I need dh trained!

BiteyShark · 01/05/2018 05:29

DH definitely doesn't 'read' BiteyDog very well and I do try and train him but I guess it's because he doesn't spend as much time with him as I do.

Off to the groomers again today so he will smell lovely and then will try to roll in as much poo as he can find

OP posts:
steppemum · 01/05/2018 10:36

sigh
steppedog was hopeless on our walk todya 3 times he wouldn't come back, twice with other dogs on lead and he insisted on going up to them and I had to run and grab him as he WOULD NOT come, one he was really growling at, fortunately both owners were very nice. Last time was on the way home, and there is a grassy patch where he is off lead, and he wouldn't stop, kept going out of the end and onto the pavement. It is a quiet cul- de -sac, no cars were coming and he didn't go on the road, but it is the first time in months he hasn't stopped when I called him at that place.

feeling grumpy, and I have to go to the dentist, so more grumpy.

BiteyShark · 01/05/2018 10:40

On no bad steppeDog Sad. Hope the dentist isn't too painful.

BiteyDog decided it was my turn to hunt the ball today. In the middle of a swamp Hmm, good job the groomers is this afternoon.

OP posts:
Squirrel26 · 01/05/2018 21:14

SquirrelDog has a thing about my bras too! Also about most of my other clothes. I remember the time when I used to own things without little teeth marks in them...

He's currently running round the house yipping and scrabbling. That monster must be back. Hmm
