My dog has been run over

He's gone to the vets for X-rays

He ran out on to the lane by our house and a pick up with a trailer hit him

I am devestated. The dc are quiet and asking when he is coming home

Vet just rang to say it's his back end and they will know more once he he had tests done.

Hand hold please while we wait....

Mine had a big scare a few weeks ok. We live on the corner of a t-junction.

It's not too busy but it does get cars.

I went out and my little dog shot out between my legs wanting to come with me. As we went to grab her, she shot in front of a car who managed to stop, legged it round the corner where another car had to emergency brake before legging it home back through the door.

I was petrified and now we make sure she's well away from the door when I go out

Oh no. I'm so sorry. Hoping the fact it was the trailer and not the actual car might be better news. Maybe a glancing blow.

That made me smile - he is dodgy.

He's such a funny monkey and makes us all so happy. We've only had him since Easter he's 11 months.

I can't stop crying. Keep hoping they will call and say he'll be ok.

Such bad timing. I keep thinking if only we had got up earlier/later/gone out for the day.

Whereabouts in the country are you OP? Supervet Noel Fitzpatrick is in Eashing Lane, Godalming, Surrey. May not be as dramatic as that but are you near there?

My terrier got run over at 6 months old. Shattered pelvis and 2 broken back legs and 1 front. Just want to let you know that it was 10 years ago now and he's fine. Few permanent pins in his leg and a bit of arthritis, but he recovered so quickly. It was horrendous at the time and I was a mess so I know how you feel but be positive. My local vet did everything and there wasn't even any need to go to specialists. Sending hugs

This breaks my heart I could never cope if this happened to one of my dogs everyone thinks I'm paranoid always having them on a lead.

The vet receptionist didn't seem very optimistic. But I will be asking for the X-rays to be sent to me and meeting with the vet later.
