Please can I have all of your pull through vibes please. I took on a 13year old staffy 2 days ago. She is the sweetest dog I have ever met but came down quickly with vomiting and diarrhea, this morning the discharge started heavily and she was rushed to emergency Vets. She has been stabilised with fluids, antibiotics and painkillers and is now heading to theatre for pyometra. I feel hopeless

Gileswithachainsaw · 05/08/2014 13:13

Am truly truly sorry to hear that. :(

When will you get the results back?

Poor poor Molly :(

What you have done is an amazing thing and you haven't had her anywhere near long enough but whatever the results, I meant what I said earlier on in the thread! The few short days you gave her were full of love and joy. She has a home and companions and got to experience that before falling ill. Not for long enough sadly but she won't ever forget what you have done for her, and you have given her a reason to keep fighting.

Come on Molly, stop scaring us now please :( x

DogandBeardedDragon · 05/08/2014 13:22

I'm not sure how long the results will take, they will let me no later, poor Molly :( thats probably the teat swelling I took her in for a couple of days ago. Guess we will just have to take things day by day now, i'v ordered a crate so she can't get on sofa, she won't be locked in it will make her a little den on ground level

If anyone deserves some good news and a break it's Molly. :(

My fingers will be well and truly crossed for positive news later and I will be thinking of her.

momnipotent · 05/08/2014 13:31

Poor Molly. :(
Whatever happens she has probably known more happiness with you, even for a few short days, than she has known in the rest of her life and that is the gift you have given her. She has been loved and treated as all dogs should be treated, thank you for doing that for her.
Thinking of both of you today. xx

On a positive note I took in a 12 year old mastiff cross last year, because the owner was moving and couldn't take him with him didn't want to more like Grrr. He is covered in scars that make me think he has not had an easy life, his teeth were a mess and he was very lumpy when he arrived. We got a couple of teeth removed and about 4 lumps taken off last year and they were benign (I think the vet was more shocked than me). He is on the couch snoring right now. He would like to send Molly some licks and tail wags.

pyometra
DogandBeardedDragon · 05/08/2014 14:50

Vets have just rang and updated me again, Molly only had a slight hernia, the lump was mainly fluid because she's having an allergic reaction to the stitches. Chances are the same thing will happen again but they will allow it to drain naturally, very confused from the info I was told earlier.

Wolfiefan · 05/08/2014 14:53

The update sounds more positive. Hoping she feels better soon. XX

Molly is home but really poorly, she has proper stitches that are bleeding, shes crying and is the worse iv seen her. I will update more later when finished having a breakdown-cry. I'm really angry at the moment with her been discharged- the bill- her stitches- her pain and the appalling treatment of the way my questions were handled with vet nurse :( oh molly

OP posts:
momnipotent · 05/08/2014 20:37

Oh dear. Hope things improve for her very quickly.

Gileswithachainsaw · 05/08/2014 20:43

Oh sweet pea you poor puppy :( :( :(

I'm not surprised your hanging a bit of a cry Thanks

Sending more healing vibes xxx

ClaimedByMe · 05/08/2014 21:43

Oh jeez, poor Molly and poor you! Thanks

hellymelly · 05/08/2014 22:14

Oh that sounds terrible, is the vet normally a good one? Because they seem to have messed her about a lot. If she's crying maybe she needs pain meds- I would call the out of hours vet, this sounds horrendous. So sorry that both Molly and you are going through this. Sad

Gileswithachainsaw · 05/08/2014 22:55

Off to bed now, just wanted to say night night Molly, I hope to hear better news in the morning that you managed to get some rest over night and To say you are in my thoughts still.

xxx

momnipotent · 06/08/2014 01:59

Thinking of you still and hoping things have improved.
