Should I reopen the happy place cafe?

I'm often awake in the night, today was a lie in for me, only properly awake since 4am.

In lockdown I opened, 'the happy place café where I would make virtual breakfasts and people would come to chat.

When it was last opened my French pastry chef Florence had married Fernando the cocktail waiter.

The kitten bees are inside because it is too old but the bumble cats are in the garden as usual.

SO should I reopen or was just something for lockdown?

I've looked at the buttie thread and the scout camp thread, I want to go to camp now.

So lets pretend the garden is a scout camp, I'll set up a camp kitchen and a BBQ and, of course, a camp fire.

Sausages, bacon and eggs on the BB (eggs in pan of course) Florence can take over the camp kitchen. Fernando is mixing cocktails but also has hot chocolate and marshmallows on sticks for anyone who wants to roast the.

There are ziplock bags and a huge pan of boiling water for camp omelets. You pick up a bag, break a couple of eggs into it, add cheese, tomato, herbs, peppers, anything you like, seal the bag and mix it all up inside the bag, then drop in boiling water for a few mins.

Please watch out for the Bumble cats.

Once Florence has a few breads made she will take sandwich requests.

Gosh, I thought it was empty today, but here you all are, out in the garden. I'd love some bacon and eggs please, in a big floury white bap.

I'll help myself to marshmallows too, thanks.

When I was a teenager, I often used to eat a white bap from the bakery, filled with chocolate buttons from the newsagent next door. Best sandwich ever. Perhaps while the bacon is cooking I'll pop out and get some buttons for us to share this morning.

Can I suggest Causa (lovely on a hot day) and Lomo Saltado (great for hangovers) from Peru?

Lets head for South Africa, coffee, tea, boerewors roll, rusks, Isitambu, miele Pap and amasi.

I have absolutely no idea what all of that is but can I try boerewors and miele please.

We have more strawberries than we know what to do with- would Florence be able.to do anything with them?

Morning! I'm assuming that our beautiful cafe has air conditioning? If so I'm just going to curl up here in the corner and go back to sleep because it's hotter than the sun in my bedroom.

I'm not sure what happened, the last breakfast had no replies, I put in a reply and now there are replies.

@TokyoSushi ·if you go past the kitchen Fernando has set up an ice bar, it's about 5 degrees.

For the rest I think just fruit, pastries and fruit juice this morning.

@Flubadubba I think Florence is making jam with the soft fruits.

I’ll be lounging at the ice bar. Peri-menopause in the hot weather is not fair (stamps foot).

Ice bar sounds excellent. Just a very strong, very large pot of coffee for me, please. If the kiddo could have An apple juice and a bowl of berries, it would be much appreciated. She has been up since 4.30.

Evening! Thanks for opening the pool @sashh I think I'll just float in there and maybe get a coffee with whole milk and a pastry when the sun comes up.
I once heard about a hotel that projected a film above the pool and I always liked that idea - perhaps we could do that for those who aren't sleeping. What films does everyone like?

A pool? This really is the perfect place!
I'm just going to go for a dip and then I think a croissant and strawberry jam would be perfect while I squish into a beanbag.

Well the pool and ice bar seem popular. It's too hot for cooked breakfasts other than toast so lets base breakfast on toast, you can have jam, beans, cheese, eggs, well you get the idea.

A dip in the pool and toast with marmalade would be lovely thank you!

Popped some Coconut milk and chia seed pudding with strawberry compote into the fridge to say thanks!

I don't know about playing a film on the newly erected screen but I think Snowpiercer might be worth a watch so we can all feel a little cooler.

Good evening all , I thought I'd pop in to see if I could cool down a bit.
It's to warm fir proper food so I think I will have a bowl of crunchy nut Corn Flakes with ice cold milk and if Fernando is a round a mojito and I will dangle my feet in the pool .

Well it's still hotter than the surface of the sun, almost.

So rather unusual for breakfast but lets have ice cream. Not just with the usual flavours so things like avocardo, parsnip, wasabi combined with liquorice, rubarb and peach.

Make up your own.

Fernando is doing some ice cream cocktails.

On the screen, well it has to be done, I'm showing Frozen.

Frozen giving me respite! We've made pistachio and rose ice cream- super refreshing!

Ooh can we have ice age on the big screen tonight ? I will bring the popcorn and ice pops.
