Should I reopen the happy place cafe?

I'm often awake in the night, today was a lie in for me, only properly awake since 4am.

In lockdown I opened, 'the happy place café where I would make virtual breakfasts and people would come to chat.

When it was last opened my French pastry chef Florence had married Fernando the cocktail waiter.

The kitten bees are inside because it is too old but the bumble cats are in the garden as usual.

SO should I reopen or was just something for lockdown?

Now I'm reminiscing about greasy spoons from the early 2000s. The one that did the peach Melba was quite clean and tidy, but there was a scruffier one I was also partial to.

They had yellowed newspaper clippings about Princess Diana on the walls and they did very small microwaved pies with mashed potato so runny, it ran around the plate like gravy. There was also gravy. It was like a thick brownish soup with a soggy pie floating in the middle and it was delicious.

I feel like I ought a big bowl of steamed broccoli now to make up for such dirty thoughts.

@fivetriangulartrees you must by psychic, I've just woken up thinking I would like a peach melba.

So peach melba with tinned peaches is on the menu.

I'll get Fernando to make you a weak tea with honey too.

For everyone else shall we stick with fruit based for today? Maybe fruit and nut.

So a selection of fruits and nuts you can add to yoghurt or muesli, fruit juices (and cocktails) Florence is making walnut cakes, French apple pie and fruit flavoured macrons.

@sashh I've been on holiday so the clock was 3 hours ahead ..I surely did miss The Happy Place Cafe! I'm glad to hear you are feeling better@sashh
May I please have a hot chocolate to go?

Please can I have muesli fruit and Greek yoghurt ( irl this is what I have for breakfast on weekdays) and a coffee please.

Well yesterday was quite healthy but light on protein so I think we should have eggs today.

Fried, boiled, scrambled, convent, poached, coddled and even deviled.

Florence is making baked goods to go with them and Fernand is making, well I think it is advocaat .

@sashh Sounds amazing! Is Eggs Benedict on the menu? Small child is going through a development leap atm so sleep is scant- would a boiled egg (and some salami) be possible to keep her quiet?

Boiled egg and buttery soldiers please if this is an option, start the day off right.

Deviled eggs are my absolute favourite 😍..I can eat almost a half dozen all by myself.@sashh Thank you for including them on today's menu.

Eggs have got to be one of the most versatile foods going and I love them cooked most ways .
Poached is one of my favourite ways so if Florence can whip up a couple of poached eggs on brown toast that would be great

Sorry you are not feeling up to things @sashh .

I can not be around long but I have put a big pot of coffee on , the tea ern , a pan of porridge, and cut up lots of fresh fruit.
Florence is baking some bloomers so you can all have toast with jam , marmite, Marmalade, Nutella etc.
There is also all the usual cereals asl well.

I have fed the kitten bees and let them out can someone check on them later.

The kitten bees are good. I’ll tidy up now.

I've dropped off some German open samdwiches for tonight's nightshift.

Knocks on window and peeps through...

Here early this morning due to a slightly under the weather child. Thanks for leaving the German sandwiches, lovely! I'll give the place a general tidy up and let the kitten bees out ready for opening.

I'll join you in a tidy up TokyoSushi <rearranges cushions>

I'm In need of soothing, so once the cushion plumping has ended, I'll find a cosy spot and take a hot water and lemon or a green tea, perhaps with some streudal for a pick me up.

Thanks for taking control, I have a final unit exam today so I'm not going to be about, which is a shame I like the sound of the German sandwiches.

@NoTeaNoShade that sounds like a great idea. I’m going to do the dishes and give the front stoop a quick sweep. Then grab a cup of coffee and chill out on a bean bag for a bit until I’m ready for something to eat.

Should we put on some music? Anyone else feel like listening to Bread?
