The good news is that the the bad news is that season 7 won't be here until summer.

I've not actually read the books beyond volume 4 so don't know what's going to happen, but I presume Claire will live and she and Jamie will carry on as two of the hottest and youngest-looking sixtysomethings to ever hit our screens!

Time travel is unexplained really even in the books. Just that some people can and others cannot. Which is why I hoped the author would write about Claires ancestors but we know nothing.

Feministwoman · 24/06/2023 12:53

We know that all those who can time travel in the books are descendants of Master Raymond, and have the blue aura, and healing arts (used for good, like Claire, or evil, like Gellis)

Ginger1982 · 24/06/2023 21:25

I've never really understood Claire. I get she loves Jamie, but as a mother I've never been able to fathom how she could leave Bree to travel back to find Jamie and think she would never see her again.

Sycasmores · 24/06/2023 21:39

Hang on now. Doesn't that make Roger and Bree related if they can both time travel?

ThatFraggle · 24/06/2023 21:41

What channel can you watch it on in England? Sky/Amazon/ITV?

Yes, Roger is a direct descendent of Callum Mackensie, who was Jamie's Uncle, so they are first cousins, umpty times removed

They are related, but only very distantly. Roger is the descendent of Dougal and Geilis' son, who we saw briefly back in, I think, season 5, and played by the same actor who played Dougal.

But it's clear Roger gets time travel from his father, who also went through the stones. And was a Mackensie.
But could have got the gene from his maternal line?

Dougal, not Callum

I don't think the actors who played Dougal and William Buck were the same?

KillingMeDeftly · 24/06/2023 22:10

Yes, it was Graham McTavish in a dark wig the first time we saw Buck @Feministwoman. I think I read that's he's making another appearance this season.

Ah I'm only half-right. He did play Buck and he is making an reappearance this season, but as Dougal! The role of Buck has been recast. https://www.express.co.uk/showbiz/tv-radio/1684237/Outlander-Graham-McTavish-replaced-Buck-MacKenzie-Diarmaid-Murtagh/amp

That's interesting I didn't know it was still filmed in Scotland.

Loads of it filmed locally in Cumbernauld which is where the studio is. I see them filming frequently and hire a friend of a friends land. Loads of security to stop the likes of me being too noisy.
Not much else
say about Cumbernauld 😂😂

Sycasmores · 24/06/2023 22:39

So does this make Bree and Roger's kids super charged time travellers since they've inherited the ability from both sides?

Sycasmores · 24/06/2023 22:40

How do people think Diana Gabaldon will end the series? Apparently Sam knows but Caitriona doesn't. Makes me think he dies first!

KillingMeDeftly · 24/06/2023 22:46

If he dies first then I guess she can always go back through the stones to her family.

According to the books and Herself, yes

Oooh I'd not spotted that!

If Buck and Dougal are in Series 7, they are really whipping through the books!

Feministwoman · 24/06/2023 23:01

Buck is meant to be blonde haired, green eyed, I thought. Like Gellis

IwantToRetire · 24/06/2023 23:03

What channel can you watch it on in England? Sky/Amazon/ITV?

The series is on Lionsgate previously Starz.

You can just subscribe and watch via their web site, or get it as an add on if you have a tv package with Sky, Virgin Media, etc..

I was sure there was a post on here about but cant find it.

@ThatFraggle

What is Lionsgate Plus and how do you get it?

Starz Play has been rebranded as Lionsgate Plus. Here's what you can get on the OTT streaming service and how to subscribe to it

Im glad she doesn't let Jaime through the stones. I think modern day Jaime would end up in skinny jeans. It would cause all fannies known to womandom to clamp shut in unison.

Add on subscription if you have Amazon video. Or stand alone from Lionsgate

Tbf, much though I adore Herselfs books, there's an awful lot of narrative that could be cut out, which wouldn't affect the overall story arc!

Sycasmores · 25/06/2023 08:46

@Feministwoman can you say more about what herself says in the books?

AngeloMysterioso · 27/06/2023 19:07

But Claire and Jamie knew the approximate date of the fire and were planning on not being there weren’t they?
