The good news is that the the bad news is that season 7 won't be here until summer.

I've not actually read the books beyond volume 4 so don't know what's going to happen, but I presume Claire will live and she and Jamie will carry on as two of the hottest and youngest-looking sixtysomethings to ever hit our screens!

Yes the final episode of season 7. There will be a season 8. Also a spin off series Blood of my blood.

stringsoup · 12/01/2025 20:06

Right, I'm going in.
Never have I been this far behind, so annoying that they move it around all these obscure subscriptions. Still, I'll easy polish it off in 7 days 😅

storminamooncup · 16/01/2025 15:41

spoiler alert....William and Jane....at first I thought awww now I think ewwww

MoChridhe · 16/01/2025 21:23

Apparently new episode has leaked early and is on now in the UK. DH watching the telly now, I can't check. Will check tomorrow

HamHand · 17/01/2025 08:46

I’ve just gone to watch (I paid for MGM with Amazon prime) and the saying it’s not available as the rights have expired. Is this because it was leaked and they’ve panicked? I finally have a morning to myself and wanted to fritter it away watching Outlander!

KiIIingMeDeftly · 17/01/2025 08:54

It probably leaked online on some streaming site rather than on MGM. I'm sure it'll be there tomorrow at the usual time.

BorgQueen · 17/01/2025 11:55

Yes I’ve just watched it 😱

blibblibs · 17/01/2025 14:12

Its not available for me, so I'm rewatching last week's.
It best be there tomorrow morning!

AngeloMysterioso · 17/01/2025 17:07

I watched it on MGM+ on Amazon Prime last night

Feministwoman · 17/01/2025 23:56

I can't see it on MGM on Prime 😭

blibblibs · 18/01/2025 06:48

It was there this morning.
It's a huge departure from the books but I actually didn't mind it but there is lots of outrage on the American Facebook pages.
I look forward to seeing what my non book reading friend thinks of it.

MoChridhe · 18/01/2025 10:18

I loved it. OMG !!!!!!!!! I love the departure from the books though it was hinted on and quicky dismissed. I think they will go for it in the next season going by this article

Feministwoman · 18/01/2025 20:29

Well I loved it, even though it did deviate a bit from the books

KiIIingMeDeftly · 18/01/2025 22:42

I have so many questions!

IwantToRetire · 19/01/2025 17:10

Interesting to learn that the final episode was not in the books, because I was coming to say I thought this episode much better than what have really just been just the same type of stories lines in earlier (part 2) episodes.

And was going to ask is this because the scriptwriter stuck to the book.

The whole jumping through time now is getting a bit complicated, but sillyly interesting.

And as to Faith suddernly becoming a feature ... what are the chances of that at a time of turmoil in both France and America, any crisscrossing the Atlantic to Scotland.

Talk about happenstance!

MoChridhe · 19/01/2025 22:21

Looking at the internet there are plenty of interesting fan theories and I'm enjoying them. The Faith lived story has certainly breathed life into the show. I am fed up of battles, separations and sub plots that have no bearing on Jamie and Claire. I hope season 8 confirms that Fanny is their grand daughter and expands on it more.

fiftyandfat · 20/01/2025 04:43

It is so annoying that it is on Netflix everywhere except the UK.
I am going to Italy in June so am wondering if I can catch up there.
I managed to binge a whole series there a while ago when they first took it off Netflix UK.

crumpet · 20/01/2025 09:10

I thought it was a really solid episode and loved the ending (I bet Diana Gabaldon is seething that she didn’t think of it, and wonder if she’ll try to do something (even if she can’t do this exact line) in her later books).

KiIIingMeDeftly · 20/01/2025 11:33

Was it ever on Netflix? I think it was Amazon Prime at first and then Starz before it moved to MGM+. In the US I think it's still on Starz?

If M Raymonde swapped out the babies then presumably Faith never heard the song Claire sang to the stillborn child. So how would she remember it to pass it down to Fanny? Not that many people have memories from the time they were a newborn! Unless he somehow revived her?

Also, it was tough enough for William to find out Jamie was his father. What's he going to do when he learns he shagged his niece??

MoChridhe · 20/01/2025 12:47

Master Raymond is a time traveller and can bring people to.life using blue light like Claire does in the layer years. It is possible he revived the baby Faith and took.her to NICU in the future or raised her and sang the song to her.
In one of the interviews I have seen over the weekend, I think it was Matt Roberts. He says that this story also plays out in Blood of my Blood. So maybe Faith was raised by Claire's mum who didn't actually die but time travelled like Roger's dad.

As for William shagging his half niece, it doesn't matter anymore now that she is dead. Besides he was kind to her and saved Fanny, so that should be the least of his worries.

Abra1t · 20/01/2025 19:21

When Jane first appeared I thought she looked a bit like Brie—same colouring. Clever.

Abra1t · 20/01/2025 19:22

So Jamie was actually trying to save his own granddaughter from being hanged. Makes scene when they are laying her out even more poignant.

storminamooncup · 20/01/2025 20:33

I noticed the redness of Jane's hair too...

AngeloMysterioso · 20/01/2025 21:49

It did all get a bit Daenerys and Jon Snow for a minute there didn't it... similar messy end too!
