Outlander season 7

The good news is that the the bad news is that season 7 won't be here until summer.

I've not actually read the books beyond volume 4 so don't know what's going to happen, but I presume Claire will live and she and Jamie will carry on as two of the hottest and youngest-looking sixtysomethings to ever hit our screens!

I love the trailer. Can't wait! I need to read book 7 again cos I don't recall Claire almost being hanged.

KillingMeDeftly · 24/12/2022 13:25

They're onto book 9 now and I don't think it's a spoiler to say that must mean Claire is alive and well!

Wish it wasn't such a long wait!

wesayno · 31/12/2022 16:05

Ooooh!

MoChridhe · 19/01/2023 20:14

Outlander has been renewed for season 8. It will also be the final season. Looking forward to 26 more episodes. 16 for season 7 and 10 for season 8.

Also looking forward to Blood of my Blood. Brian and Ellen Fraser's love story.

I saw a trailer last night - series 7 starts in the UK 16 June

MoChridhe · 14/06/2023 18:59

Season 7 will be on starting Friday. Looking forward to it. Been watching interviews and they said that season 7 will combine books 7 and 8 because they thought it would be the last. It's 16 episodes. Season 8 will cover book 9 and then that's it.

Then there's a spin off "Blood of my Blood " about Jamie's parents.

Anyone else be watching?

KillingMeDeftly · 14/06/2023 21:13

I've got tickets for something called the Outlander Experience on Friday. Sadly I doubt Jamie will make an appearance.

Oh have fun. I thought about getting them as well but my hay fever is too bad this year and nothing seems to be working. I know you can also turn up without a ticket and wait for an available slot, so I'll see how I feel. Hope you have a good time.

I'll be watching.

I've never read the books. I wondered if they'd return to the present day (Claire's) in the future, but that might be spoiler territory. I find the American setting a bit more dull.

BlindyPeakers · 15/06/2023 19:23

Did anyone else feel like nothing really happened in season six, and it was just setting us up for season 7?

I enjoyed the bits filling in Little/young Ian's time with the Mohawk, but otherwise it was rather dull.

KillingMeDeftly · 15/06/2023 19:26

Malva being murdered was a pretty big happening but I know what you mean @BlindyPeakers. At the end of the finale I was a bit "what? Was that it?". I know they had to cut the season short due to Caitriona's pregnancy but it still felt jarring.

Incidentally, she's been going to various S7 events in very loose-fitting or boxy outfits so perhaps baby 2 is on its way!

I'm ready for tomorrow. I've read all the books ( multiply times, started on them in the 90's) so know vaguely what will happen if they don't go off piste too much. Can't wait

CarolinaInTheMorning · 15/06/2023 19:38

I agree and I'm American, descended from Highland settlers in North Carolina. It's still filmed in Scotland, though. Scotland is cast as North Carolina.

The Malva storyline felt like a clunky plot device leading to Claire's arrest tbh, but maybe the story will all tie together when we discover the real murderer and their motivation.

Anyway, I'm excited to see the start of the new season!

Munchyseeds2 · 15/06/2023 22:27

Does anyone know what time it's on?

Maggiesgirl · 16/06/2023 06:50

Episode 1 has dropped onto Lionsgate already.

I think she is expecting again. I saw an interview the other day - she looked absolutely gorgeous - but very slim on her upper body and a distinct curve on her belly. Very happy for her if it's true and so well timed in between S7 & S8!!
I think Catriona is one of those fortunate women who will still look beautiful when they are 90.

MoChridhe · 16/06/2023 08:24

Season 6 is really good if you binge it in one go rather than an episode every week as I discovered recently. I sat down one lazy winter's day and watched it all and it really flowed well.

KillingMeDeftly · 16/06/2023 08:25

I know, it's sickening really - gorgeous AND a very good actress! She didn't even have a huge amount of acting experience before Outlander as she was a catwalk model. She's luminous in Belfast too and I don't know how she didn't get an Oscar nomination for that.

Miffed that I had to sign up for Lionsgate as well as prime 😡

KillingMeDeftly · 16/06/2023 09:44

@BorgQueen you don't have to sign up for both, it's possible to only use Lionsgate. I think?

Maggiesgirl · 16/06/2023 10:16

I've watched episode one. Wow! Brilliant.

mateysmum · 16/06/2023 11:45

Are they releasing episodes weekly? If so I might hold off signing up to Lionsgate for a few weeks and then binge. If I can resist that is.

aqiarious · 16/06/2023 11:55

I already have prime. It won't let me sign up for lionsgate via the prime app. I'm hoping we don't have to pay 🤔

Watching later I hope
