Outlander season 7

The good news is that the the bad news is that season 7 won't be here until summer.

I've not actually read the books beyond volume 4 so don't know what's going to happen, but I presume Claire will live and she and Jamie will carry on as two of the hottest and youngest-looking sixtysomethings to ever hit our screens!

Trailer for next week. Great to see Lord John back. Hoping for the return of Dougal soon, Graham McTavish was great! Though it's strange to watch interviews with him as he barely has a trace of a Scots accent.

didn't like new Jenny very much.
Great to see Ghillis is back - will we see young Murtag?

Abra1t · 24/11/2024 20:45

Really enjoyed this!
I find the Lord John bits a bit tedious so this was better for me. Roger sometimes gets on my nerves but he was great in this episode. I laughed aloud at his last words.

That’s not Philadelphia, it’s Liverpool!

Feministwoman · 30/11/2024 01:13

It's Saturday, but I can't see the new episode?

Feministwoman · 30/11/2024 07:09

Ah, It popped up about 3 pm and I've watched it.

KiIIingMeDeftly · 30/11/2024 22:00

That was quite a twist in the tale! Though anyone who's seen clips of the S8 filming won't be fooled.

AngeloMysterioso · 03/12/2024 21:22

Ah c’mon, I mean I don’t know the storylines or anything but they’re hardly about to have Jamie just die offscreen like an afterthought.

He’ll turn up!

KiIIingMeDeftly · 03/12/2024 21:25

Sam H has posted extensively during the filming of S8 so unless that was an elaborate ruse, it's safe to say Jamie will be back soon!

Feministwoman · 07/12/2024 06:15

Well, that was a jam packed episode!
The editing is much tighter in this second half, lots of the book got through.

Feministwoman · 07/12/2024 06:17

(I'm in the red zone of the storm, so woken up early to check on the animals and outside things, and decided to watch it, while the power is still on!)

MoChridhe · 07/12/2024 06:39

It was a good episode. Loved Lord John especially, he is a very good actor and wish there were more scenes in the series with him. Claire was very good too. I love the Roger in 1739 bits but wish they would move that story as fast as they are moving the Philadelphia story.

Feministwoman · 07/12/2024 09:11

Well they've cracked on into the start of WIMOHB, so they've got the rest of S7 and then S8 to get through the rest of it, then all of Bees, then tie it all up (before Herself brings out the 10th book?)

That's not a lot of episodes to cover A LOT of huge books.

KiIIingMeDeftly · 08/12/2024 15:31

Yes, he's great and you'd never guess he was Australian. Apparently he can sing too!

I thought the episode did a really good job of capturing Claire and John's bonding over their shared grief. It was done so well that I felt [SPOILER ALERT] Jamie showed up again almost too quickly! It would've been good to explore that for another episode or two.

KiIIingMeDeftly · 15/12/2024 08:10

Episode 4 was a bit of a comedown after the drama of 2 and 3. Who decided to give William a touch of the Ron Weasleys with all the "bloody hells"?

MoChridhe · 15/12/2024 14:13

I really really loved this last episode. Its definitely in my top 5 of the entire series. I thought every one did a good job. I love Lord John. I didn't even mind the interrupted fully dressed table sex.

Maggiesgirl · 15/12/2024 16:40

Thought it was really great. Was a bit dissapointed that Claire did the explanation to William and not Jamie as in the books.

I wonder if they will bring in Jane's sister Fanny or drop her part. Will miss Germain in the next part.

KiIIingMeDeftly · 15/12/2024 18:06

Does Jamie know that John and Claire are married? Not sure that was ever mentioned to him in the episode or did I miss it?

AngeloMysterioso · 15/12/2024 19:22

I hated this episode! Hated the trope of the prostitute who doesn’t have to have sex but does anyway because gosh he’s just so charming. Hated Jamie and Claire shagging in Lord John’s house without either of them seeming to give a fuck about where he is, even though he literally married Claire to keep her safe, and meanwhile he’s running for his life after Jamie smashed his face in and handed him over the American army. Hated the way William seemed to go from chivalrous gentleman to violent thug in no time at all. Just hated the whole thing.

Feministwoman · 15/12/2024 23:02

I must admit this set of storylines are not my favourites

Jamie has a history of beating up the wrong man and then giving him as prisoner to someone else...

TBF, he's only done it once before (to Roger) and Ian had the idea in the first place..

Abra1t · 16/12/2024 18:07

Both Claire and Jamie have been behaving like spoiled brats to Lord John, I thought, and I don't usually find his story lines that compelling.

KiIIingMeDeftly · 21/12/2024 22:53

I liked today's episode better than last week's, though I could've done without Ian and Rachel's assessment of each other's buttocks. Roger and his father was a nice touch.

AlhambraQueen · 21/12/2024 23:20

Anyone else rolling their eyes continuously throughout this episode?
