I hadn't seen the original episode from tonight's catch up. I got distracted by how a couple so young could afford to upgrade when one of them was still a student! Although I was amazed at how much they managed to achieve on a pretty small budget. Even the second post covid loft renovation. Not sure if they have managed to sell though...

Meredusoleil · 31/01/2024 21:29

Didn't even bother to watch tonight after seeing it was a catch up episode.

LadyEloise1 · 31/01/2024 22:59

I do hope they have a buyer soon but they didn't want to move far from her family who lived within walking distance and now they're going to move to Wales ???

Newgirls · 01/02/2024 16:14

It went beyond the value of the road didn’t it. There is only so much people will want to spend on a mid terrace

billysboy · 01/02/2024 18:20

Seemed like a nice couple but needed to drop their expectations with the price
interesting that this on at £275k now

daffodilandtulip · 05/02/2024 22:30

Don't normally like catch ups but it was interesting to see that they've over developed it now, but then decided to move. I think my house is slightly overdeveloped, all very similar to this actually, but I did it because I absolutely did not want to move house ever ever again.

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/02/2024 14:03

Another bloody catch up tonight 😡

I was so disappointed they didn't move to the dream house.

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/02/2024 13:04

They never do

I was so disappointed they didn't move to the dream house.

I'm always a bit confused by the logistics of the List It option. Phil shows them all the houses they 'could' buy instead of loving their current home, but surely by the time they had finished renovations and put it on the market, those houses would be long gone? It seems technically impossible that they could buy any of the dream homes, unless they had hundreds of thousands in savings.

As @Blondeshavemorefun says "They never do"

Logistically it's not possible in most cases as they would need to have the remedial work finished and their own house sold before buying the "dream" house that Phil shows them.
Unless of course the vendor of the "dream" home is willing to wait for the couple to be ready. Which is very doubtful in the real world of house purchase. Too many variables.

Newgirls · 08/02/2024 14:28

I wonder if the house hunting part happens later on in the filming when Reno is nearly finished?

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/02/2024 14:34

Yes no one ever says I want to buy house no 2 we saw and put in an offer

I think I am moving to the Largs area. Great properties and low prices.

I'd be a bit worried about stormy weather in the winter, though.

It also has a rather magnificent Art Deco ice cream parlour!

lieselotte · 09/02/2024 07:50

Ah yes I think they showed that on the programme! I've been to that area once but only on the way back from Bute, so don't really know it well.

LillianGish · 09/02/2024 12:35

I loved this week's revisit. I didn't remember the original programme so it was the best of all worlds for me. I thought the redesign of their current home was fabulous and truly ticked all the boxes in terms of their requirements. I'm not surprised they decided to stay, my first thought when they talked of moving to a village was fine when the kids are little, hopeless when they are teenagers. The great thing about a revisit is that you get to see what they actually do - it's not just an academic exercise.

GirlOfTudor · 10/02/2024 22:09

Interesting to see that the house from the revisit on 31/1/24 has sold! I really liked the couple and the house, but I did it feel it was too expensive for the street. Good on them for managing to sell.

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/02/2024 19:48

S9 e9 tonight and a new one. Yah. Fed up with catch ups

Stockport - Jacqueline and Renee 6 bed house lacks the flow

Guess Kirstie will knock a few walls down as usual as no point expanding if 6 bedroom. Assume quite big

Oh no! I looked it up online and it said it was a catch up episode so am not watching it now 🤦‍♀️

Missfelinemoo · 14/02/2024 20:36

Their current house is already amazing. I couldn't understand the issue but I guess no matter what we have we always want more.

NCTDN · 14/02/2024 21:25

I think their requirements made it tricky to consider moving anyway

Did they get the price they wanted ?

I think it's a new one, I've never seen this one before.
