I am so excited I am literally sitting here bouncing after watching the 2nd trailer

It's OK I know I'm sad, especially as I really want the "Gene says relax" T-Shirt

OP posts:
BelleDameSansMerci · 14/05/2010 23:00

Did anyone notice that Keats said to Alex "you're lucky, your bullet didn't kill you"? Alex assumed he was talking about the bullet that Gene fired but what if it was the one that sent her back in the first place? If that's the case, then it could still be all about her...

CaveMum · 14/05/2010 23:08

I thought the voice said "What'll you have?" as in "what would you like to drink?"

Gigantaur · 14/05/2010 23:09

ok please dont laugh at me for not being a good enough fan but, how does Alex know about Sam? how does she know that he was from the future? and that he went back?

I dont think i missed an episode but i can't remember or work out how she would know all this

MrsKitty · 14/05/2010 23:12

Gigantaur Alex was the psychologist on Sam's case after he 'came back' from his coma - she had loads of notes on his 'imaginary world' i.e life in Manchester 1973, so in fact 'knew' Gene etc before she went into her coma.

jenduff · 14/05/2010 23:21

this is going to be a long week....even longer for me cos I won't get to see it til Saturday as we're going out next Friday night -

Gigantaur · 14/05/2010 23:21

so she's not a DI then?

Valpollicella · 14/05/2010 23:22

Green eyes - didn't anyone else notice the strange green reflections on Keats' glasses, practically covering his eyes, that kept appearing in each scene,
...frrreeeaky

Gigantaur, from what I saw from a thing on youtube - shall find and link - app she was Sam's psychologist back in 'RL@

TopsyKretts · 14/05/2010 23:23

She is a DI, but with a psychology degree, I think.

Valpollicella · 14/05/2010 23:23

Exactly MrsKitty - hence why in the first episode of A2A, she knew who they all were

Gigantaur · 14/05/2010 23:33

thank you all.

I missed 6the entire of LoM. I stumbled across my first episode of A2A. it was teh one where Gene shoots through teh restaurant door to save Alex. I was hooked frmo that scene so i went and watched everything i had missed and all of the LoM.
My world now stops when its on.

can't believe there is only one more.

I can't wait till next week. then i will go and sit and watch the DVD's back again, back o back to see all the clues i missed and see how they have laid the trail

chimchar · 14/05/2010 23:36

Just finished watching on catch up. God, I enjoyed that! Was watching through my hands when they were about to snog!!!!

Lush.

piprabbit · 14/05/2010 23:47

I have watched every episode of LOM and A2A and I'm sitting here without a clue about what is happening.

Feel like I need an A2A for dummies book to ponder once the series is over.

HighFibreDiet · 14/05/2010 23:48

hello everyone, ds3 kept waking up so I have just finished watching it. Agree they have a lot to cover in the next episode. Pleased Alex now seems to be siding with Gene and not Keats. Yes, noticed the green eyes.

Clydesdale, in your screen shot of Sam tapping on the glass, there's a wierd face reflected, anyone know who that is? Also when i watched it on the tv I thought it maybe looked like the guy from last week and not John Simm.

Gene was being horrible to Chris at the start and I am glad Chris had his starry moment in the end, thought it was a shame that the writers seemed to be leaving him out.

I also think the reference to Alex's bullet is significant.

Valpollicella · 15/05/2010 00:08

Oh so so pleased Chris had his 'moment' with Gene.

Wonder what his moment is though? As Shaz's came when she fought off the crazy guy (after she freaked at the screwdriver being left on her desk - my thought is that she is in a coma cos of someone stabbing her with one whilst undercover as she was in the dating agency ep.).

Ray ran into the fire - reckon he's in a come because he tried to save someone from a fire itself

So, Chris? Why is it releveant he had his A2A moment after he released Tobias?

piprabbit · 15/05/2010 00:16

When Chris was first in the cell with Tobias, I felt he was getting angry and it reminded me of the incident when he battered a suspect in a cell a couple of weeks ago. Perhaps his moment is connected with his ability to empathise and control his fists (becoming mature, more manly, more like Gene)...perhaps his poor judgement led him to get injured in a fight or similar?

Valpollicella · 15/05/2010 00:26

Maybe it could be an incident in his 'future RL', possibly racially motivated?

Although Chris never seemed the type to be so agressive? I think it'll be quite a big reveal re Chris, if we get that far - not sure how they'll squeeze it all into an hour next week

piprabbit · 15/05/2010 00:32

What I don't understand is why, when Gene was thrown out of paradise, Ray and Chris came with him?

Valpollicella · 15/05/2010 00:35

Because they wanted to follow him, as they knew their survival depended on it?

Bet they wouldn't want to have faced Keats alone should he have visted

AnyFuleKno · 15/05/2010 00:35

Chris freaked out about the whistle remember, so it follows that his incident that send him to limbo has something to do with that

Valpollicella · 15/05/2010 00:36

Intersting AnyFule.

AnyFuleKno · 15/05/2010 00:37

If anyone is watching tonight's ep back - there are lots of shots of gene with half his face obscured by blinds etc. Also shot of him from the back - very evocative of dead cop

HighFibreDiet · 15/05/2010 01:06

does anyone have a freeze frame of the dead cop?

Valpollicella · 15/05/2010 01:08

If you're on FB HFD, search for Ashes to Shes. There's loads of pics etc on there

draggedthroughahedgebackwards · 15/05/2010 01:29

Oh crap had just typed out a really comprehensive theory and then my computer lost it. Here goes again, forgive me if this turns out to just be middle of the night ramblings

Gene said that Sam asked him to help fake his death. Is it possible that Sam knew the angel of death (gatekeeper or whatever) was after him and therefore he wanted to make it look as though Gene had got to him first, and had facilitated his entry to "police heaven".

Keats could suspect this and is therefore using Alex to draw Sam out. He could then get Sam, and also Alex who might unwittingly do something which constitutes betrayal, as Keat's other victims have done.

Rocinante · 15/05/2010 07:54

Apparently the biblical reference of 6.6.20 refers to the Book of Joshua - so was Tobias/Joshua more significant than at first sight?

(This is from Den of Geek, btw - my brain doesn't extend to creating theories, just lapping them up)
