I am so excited I am literally sitting here bouncing after watching the 2nd trailer

It's OK I know I'm sad, especially as I really want the "Gene says relax" T-Shirt

Valpollicella · 24/03/2010 22:29

Oh maybe? Hope so for your fix of Gene sake

Nymphadora · 24/03/2010 22:40

Looked it up- Iplayer says 7 days from the last broadcast so if it is repeated during the week I should be fine. I'm pretty sure Dr WHo will be repeated.

Now I need to find tv listings...

Valpollicella · 24/03/2010 22:58

Excellent...thou shall not without thou fix of Hunt

Nymphadora · 24/03/2010 23:19

Couldn't find listings for that or Dr Who so have emailed bbc.The website says they can only give out programe schedules 10 days in advance how does Sky work then as I know you can look ahead with that!

AM getting at DH as he is just saying it'll all get sorted but no actual suggestions on recording it. MY dvd recorder stopped working when we went digital and my Mam now has a hard drive so they can't record.

Valpollicella · 24/03/2010 23:24

Email me Nymph val dot pollicella at yahoo.co dot uk.

Shall sort for you [grin. Can't have you missing out on DR Who or the Gene Genie

Nymphadora · 25/03/2010 07:08

You are very kind and understanding! I will see if BBC responds today & then I may take you up on it. It would just be for the first one of each as we are home on the Saturday and can get the others on iplayer. I am still wondering whether I can train my dad to use iplayer & download it on to my laptop since they will be staying here anyway...

Hermya321 · 25/03/2010 09:13

Nymph Nope can't have you missing the Doc or the Gene Genie at all. Did the BBC respond at all?

Nymphadora · 25/03/2010 09:28

Not yet but they may only work office hours?

Hermya321 · 25/03/2010 10:13

Yeah they probably do, or their version of Office hours anyway.

Clydesdale · 25/03/2010 15:36

I am recording the whole series on Sky. Just so I can go back and drool over Gene to watch the episode again to see if I have missed anything!

Nymph Check out this page on the BBC - shows porgrammes 4 weeks in advance!

gailpud · 26/03/2010 13:31

I love this show so very much.....cant wait etc.. but hey! - Alex is sporting such a dreary look this new series. Whats going on with her hair?.. not good.
Gene is looking good though (phew)

lottiejenkins · 26/03/2010 13:31

article on ashes to ashes

Hermya321 · 26/03/2010 18:47

Gailpud the thing with Gene is that you could put him in a bin bag with matching bin bag hat and he would still pull at the end of the night due to his innate charm and charisma. I agree with you about Alex's hair, I don't know what they were thinking.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 26/03/2010 22:41

Oh gawd. Me and DH are right silly arses. We thought it was tonight and got all over excited ( well I did!)But it's next week

aaaaarrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhhhhhj

Anniek · 27/03/2010 07:49

I read somewhere that Alex's hair is due to the operation she has had in 2009??? Something like that is all she can do with it?

OP posts:
Hermya321 · 29/03/2010 22:22

Anniek Fair dos, I wonder how she gets back there to 1983?

Anniek · 01/04/2010 18:00

Been watching trailer way too much... as I'm now wondering if the second line has real importance, "we're leaving together... but still it's farewell" As in Alex and Gene will not end up together

I think Alex will somehow slip back into her coma in 2009, maybe even ask to be induced?

BertieBotts · 01/04/2010 18:06

iPlayer usually hold all the episodes of popular series until 7 days after the last episode. So some things are on for 7 days after they are shown and some things are on much longer.

Is it worth me watching this? I haven't seen any of the previous series, (keep meaning to get around to borrowing DVDs etc) but love the concept. Would I get into it starting at this point? Is there anything important I need to know?

Then once the series is over I can indulge in some serious back-cataloguing, my favourite way to watch something - can watch three episodes in one night or go without it for two weeks without missing anything

Anniek · 01/04/2010 18:15

Hard to know, think you could get away with not seeing it as long as you understand the basic "time travel" concept.

But would recommend it to anyone, but I'm a little obsessed

chimpsmostwelcome · 01/04/2010 18:38

Another fan here - I may have to watch the last few episodes of the previous series to remind myself of how it ended - hurrah for sky plus

Hermya321 · 01/04/2010 22:28

Anniek Me too, I've been a convert ever since Life on Mars.

EVye · 02/04/2010 10:45

BertieBotts. If I was you I would watch all of the others first tbh.

BranflakeGirl · 02/04/2010 13:59

I am parked on the sofa in anticipation wearing my shoulder pads and blue eyeliner!

I want a "Gene says relax" t-shirt too!

timelordvictorious · 02/04/2010 14:44

I.
Can't.
Wait.

Gene Hunt does things to me..,

yogabird · 02/04/2010 15:10

so, so excited too! Six hours to go, wine in the fridge chilling nicely, kids will go to sleep promptly! (not that the wine is for them!)
