Think people are meaning Nelson as he was heard saying "welcome" when Shaz saw the stars (and he also said something when Ray had his LOM moment)

I think I was one of the guilty ones earlier in the thread referring to him as Winston. My excuse is that I had not had much sleep that night due to DD having a growth spurt

Really? You can hear Nelson? I had rewind it on i-player yesterday, so dh could hear the creepy 'souls' whisper. (Thanks to you folks on here, I now know what to look out for.) I will have to watch again and listen for Nelson!

I will be glad when all this is over, as I never can sleep after an episode of A2A, although I will of course miss Gene sighs. My head is going round and round with all the theories. I am now convinced that in the last episode, Keats will get into Alex's flat (which she never seems to lock!) and scare the living daylights out of her (and me). He will already have turned her against Gene so he'll be trying to 'claim' her, or whatever he does (how scary was that with Viv?!) but then Gene will stride in (through smoke and mist, of course, with an eighties power ballad playing) and save the day...but they've said we will need tissues, so I think the co-lateral damage will be bad. I just hope Keats gets it as he is seriously freaking me out! I'd love one more Galex moment, though, just for old time's sake.

Then all that remains will be to buy the box set.

Basically with the Officers coller number, she can find out who he is. He's a Manchester copper from M division which I think is Trafford (geeky anorak moment).

All she needs to do is make a phone call or write a letter.

Well, my theory is that she does just that and brings it up with Gene in the next episode. It'll be something to with something when GEne was younger and that's where the line from the trailer comes in 'Blimey, if you don't believe me'etc.

I was talking theories with a colleague yesterday and he thinks that Gene Hunt is in a coma in 2010 as a result of a crime and Alex and Sam are the investigating officers so in fact what is going on is in Gene Hunt's head.

Just read the theories on the spoiler link. I hadn't noticed the thing when the door closes showing Gene in uniform. I must check it out on iplayer.

I really hope it's not going to be the 'confused astronaut' senario used by the American version of LOM.

I think it is good vs bad. Though I'm convinced both Ray and Shaz are dead (the Danny Boy stuff convinced me of that).

I think her being dead has something to do with why it wasn't right with Chris.

Though there is something to be said about the theory that it's actually Gene who's in the coma. Sam was trying to tell Alex this last week by saying none of it's real.

My feeling months ago was that this is all Gene's coma - weren't there references in Life on Mars to another man on the ward? Or did i imagine that?

Lately I've been doubting that theory, it seems too simplistic.
