It has just started and I am in two minds to watch this.

I am finding it hard as I have been trying to concieve a child for five years and have had four miscarriages - am I the only one who finds this annoying woman totally ungrateful for the precious children that she has

OP posts:

I'm also wondering what the dynamic would be like if that "precious" daughter came along. How would the boys feel towards her?

Totallyfloaty35 · 04/02/2010 21:30

Omg,i have 3dds and would be quite happy to have another(in fact i dont think i can grow a boy) but surely a healthy baby is what you want in the end? I would be just as happy with a boy though.
What happens if they get their girl are they going to ignore the boys? what happens if girl is not pink and fluffy, will she be treated as defective to?
Just be grateful for what you have, some people cant have any and that is heartbreaking.

moodlum · 04/02/2010 21:30

God, really really, this would piss me off if I were TTC.

That woman's little boys

Lubyloo · 04/02/2010 21:31

I dream of having an ultrasound and seeing a living baby

angel1976 · 04/02/2010 21:31

Mark my words... That Michelle woman said this is their last chance... If they ever did a follow-up programme, she would be pregnant with her 6th!

paisleyleaf · 04/02/2010 21:31

And the pressure on that girl too.

MavisGrind · 04/02/2010 21:31

Having a baby is a fucking wonderous thing - boy. girl. healthy? amazing.

Get over it.

littlemisslozza · 04/02/2010 21:33

Those poor boys hearing their mothers saying such things. Can't be good for them to hear. I can't believe she burst into tears at the scan, it's a healthy baby, be happy woman!

lovemynano · 04/02/2010 21:35

I have three boys, and each is very different from the other - I've actually had four boys but only three survivors.

I love my boys to bits and can't imagine life without any of them, but would JUST have happily had three girls. Each life is so precious.

Something tells me these people would never be satisfied no matter what. How very sad for the children of the "wrong" gender.

Heated · 04/02/2010 21:36

Feel sorry for them, not angry. To go to such extremes must be awful.

I know three women who have longed for a particular gender after having 3-5 of the same sex. They know they are being unreasonable and are blessed by the healthy children they have (one lost her youngest, and her only dd, after an undiagnosed tumour) but knowing that they are, doesn't make the ache go away.

pinkchampagne · 04/02/2010 21:37

I was getting really angry watching her getting all wound up going to her scan, just in case the baby turned out to be a boy. I mean, that scan is really to check that all is ok with your unborn baby, and knowing a number of people who have found out at this scan that their babies had terrible conditions which meant they had to terminate...Well it just makes me cross.

moodlum · 04/02/2010 21:38

That's a good idea. Get the girls you wanted and then let them drive around in a motor buggy with no seatbelt and no helmet aged about 6.

bronze · 04/02/2010 21:39

I have been glad about the gender of my baby but because when I was pregnant for the 3rd time I was having a lot of problems and knew I was likely to have a prem. Girls tend to do better in this situation than boys so was very glad she was a girl. I was glad for that reason though not because I had two boys. I adore my boys and actually find them easier so was quite happy dc4 was also a boy.

Heated- I do feel kind of sorry for them just because something must be a little wrong in their heads

nigglewiggle · 04/02/2010 21:39

I did wonder if the rejected older brother might be wanting to get rid of them

saggyhairyarse · 04/02/2010 21:40

My sentiments exactly Moodlum.

angel1976 · 04/02/2010 21:41

I wonder how Michelle would feel watching the programme... And watching other women get what she can't have. Surely all this is fairly damaging to her mental health?!!!! And her boys are so beautiful too...

moodlum · 04/02/2010 21:41

LOL niggle

MrsMorgan · 04/02/2010 21:42

I so disgaree with the choosing, I realy do.

NorbertDentressangle · 04/02/2010 21:43

moodlum -I thought that too. I think it was the shot of the tree looming .

2andcounting · 04/02/2010 21:45

im actually feeling a bit sick watching this-don't any of these women know how lucky they r???? don't get me wrong- yeah its upsetting when u don't get what u want- but we're adults- thats life!!! also how awful for all those lovely boys to have to listen to their mums going on about this...just don't get it??
also, a few of them definitely seem to be a bit 'more money than sense'

MrsMorgan · 04/02/2010 21:45

Completely off topic, but they all have very nice houses.

Katz · 04/02/2010 21:45

has she done her house for the show or do you really think a mum with 4 young children would seriously have those giant crystals at child height.

angel1976 · 04/02/2010 21:47

MrsMorgan - That woman who got twin girls from PGD (or whatever you call that), she has a stunning house!

ChickandDuck · 04/02/2010 21:48

Damn, wanted to watch this!!

Do you think it will be on 4oD? Not watched anything on there before so don't know how it works, can anyone help?

ruddynorah · 04/02/2010 21:49

no wonder she was frustrated at not having girls, looks like she can have absolutely everything else she wants, huge house, huge garden..twin girls..
