Cant believe it is the last season, wonder if we will get any answers

OP posts:

I thought this weeks was pretty bad.

I liked the contrasts between Claire and Rousseau which just served to prove that Claire is a fucking loony. But Emilie DeRavin is a terrible terrible actress and loony Claire is atrocious.

potplant · 26/02/2010 17:29

Eh Am I going mad here, its not been on yet has it?

PfftTheMagicDragon · 26/02/2010 17:53

I have magic powers

its quite useful

braveandcrazy · 27/02/2010 10:31

You can watch on the Internet a couple of days before because it is aired in the US tues I think. I wasn't keen this week - why make Jack a crap dad now? And I agree that Claire wasn't too good.

mozette · 27/02/2010 10:35

Agree this weeks was awful (apart from Hurley & Jacob)

Claire's acting was almost as bad as that wig

PopsyWind · 27/02/2010 10:51

It's starting to annoy me a bit I'm afraid.

I think they're trying too hard to give us neat little answers to individual mysteries, at the expense of it making a lick of sense overall IYSWIM.

(or maybe I'm just bitter cos I had a bet with DH that the grand finale 'answer' would be....ALIENS!!!!, and that's looking less likely.)
(Humph)

PfftTheMagicDragon · 27/02/2010 12:56

Ive become annoyed that they promised the answer to EVERYTHING this season and yet again all there is shown is more procrastinating, characters still showing no curiosity, no answers and those that so are STILL giving more questions than they answer.

The parallel life shit seems like filler and timewasting. So Jack might repeat the same mistakes his dad did? SO what? Are we going to end up with a rushed Widmore finale that leaves us all unsatisfied? Probably. Not that I'll stop watching, Im like Lost's bitch or something.

FreakoidOrganisoid · 27/02/2010 13:09

I am not enjoying the parallel scenes, I like the island stuff more.

Thought this weeks was better than last weeks but overall this season so far has lost some of the Lost atmosphere (iykwim) and I really can't see how they are going to tie it all together in the remaining episodes. Think we will be left with a lot of loose ends and unanswered questions.

PfftTheMagicDragon · 27/02/2010 16:34

yes, me too freakoid. I think that when you compare it back to seasons 1 and 2, but particularly 1 it looks very poor. I thought the sets this week were shocking, one of the first times that I have thought that it really looked fake.

The character work (most of it) is fine I think, but they seem to be flailing with some of the island mysticism crap.

PlumBumMum · 28/02/2010 10:53

I agree I think by introducing the parrallel time line they have introduced more questions and seems hard to see how they will answer them all

Whos coming to the island, Desmond, Charles?

I always thought the ending was going to be the original plane crash BUT they would then realise oh shit no matter what we do we are destined to be here

I don't think they will answer all my questions

PfftTheMagicDragon · 28/02/2010 12:34

It had better be Desmond, I've been itching to see him topless properly again.

I hold out hope that they will answer most of the questions. Foolish maybe, but they brought up Adam and Eve in the caves so they seem to be bringing old issues to the forefront again. Lets just hope they do something about them. Or they could just spend another 3 weeks pondering the meaning of Kate

PlumBumMum · 28/02/2010 14:21

Loved Hugos idea that the skeletons could be 2 of them

Pfft I think you & I both like abit of Desmond on the last thread brother

FreakoidOrganisoid · 28/02/2010 17:03

I thought maybe rose and bernard?

But have been reading forums on lostpedia and people there are coming up with all kinds of theories that I never would have thought of and now I'm even more confused

PfftTheMagicDragon · 28/02/2010 17:43

I think it has to be someone important and I don't think they are as the writers havent spared poor Bernard a second thought in the last year and Rose should just be renamed Cancer for all the backstory she got

It's clearly someone that Jacob wants to come to the island. The question is, whose side is Widmore on? Everyone loves Desmond, they all want him to come Seriously, no-one hates him. Maybe Aaron (somehow, not sure how?) I thought that Jacob referred to a "he".

PfftTheMagicDragon · 28/02/2010 17:43

Or Walt?

PlumBumMum · 28/02/2010 18:08

I think widmore is on Jacobs side as he & Ben were friends they fell out over Widmores to-ing & fro-ing from the island and he was friends with Richard (who has dissappeared)

or have I forgotten something

PfftTheMagicDragon · 28/02/2010 18:30

god knows plummy, I'd forgotten that - I wouldnt be surprised to find out that space alien wildebeest infiltrated The Others back in season 2 and I had simply forgotten,.... Lost, eh?

Fruitbatlings · 28/02/2010 18:43

Im feeling a little nostalgic
we haven't seen Lost since season four.
We had to give it up, mainly because we had to cancel Sky and also because we found it so frustrating!
I miss Sawyer

FreakoidOrganisoid · 28/02/2010 18:58

Yes Widmore was an other but Ben banished him for leaving the island lots and getting Pennys mum pregnant. Ben's character seems to have completely changed, actually the Others in general have...

I meant Rose and Bernard for skeletons rather than coming to island (only because we haven't seen them in present time but know they were living on island before the last flash forward). I think the person coming to the island could be Desmond possibly (wishful thinking)

Is it me or is this series focusing more on individuals than the earlier ones. I know we had for eg Jack centric episodes before but don't remember any being so focussed on just one or 2 people. Is making it all a bit disjointed for me

FreakoidOrganisoid · 28/02/2010 19:01

I don't have sky either fruitbatlings so am watching online, the buffering is annoying though. Started downloading from skyplayer but the episodes on there all have 10-20 mins missing out the middle of them which makes it all even more confusing!

Rollergirl1 · 28/02/2010 22:30

I agree, i thought this episode was quite poor. Although I definitely have a theory now. Which is: Christian was bad and was also the smoke monster in disguise. The similarity between christian and locke coming to the island in coffins and the fact that smokey is now locke makes me think that he did the same thing with christian's body. Coupled with the fact that the last time we saw clair she was with christian and she is now refering to "her friend", which turns out to be Smokey/Flocke.

Who was it that told Jack in the last seried that he needed to put something of christians on locke's body? Was it Ben? Just wondering what that significance is.

And who is the mum of jack's son? It's bound to be someone from the island. I reckon juliet!

The appendix scar was a funny one. Another glimpse of the parallel life not being all that it seems?

Nobody has said that much about the names. Any theories?

Rollergirl1 · 28/02/2010 22:43

We have seen Rose in present time and she still has cancer.

I think it would be great for it to be Desmond coming back, but somehow I don't think it will be. I kind of think of Desmond and Charlie as being bound together and think that both of them kind of served as warnings in some way.

I think it's more likely to be Widmore. Or perhaps even Farraday?

PfftTheMagicDragon · 28/02/2010 23:04

Rollergirl, I have thought this before, that the smoke monster appears as different people/things. I thought it was Christian Shepherd, am sure it has appeared as other dead people (did we see Ecko's brother?) Dave from the Institution, the horse that Kate started to follow.

I thought it was Desmond and Daniel who were linked - Desmond was Daniels constant wasnt he?

Rollergirl1 · 28/02/2010 23:17

Yes Desmond and Daniel were linked with the constant. I'd forgotten that. But Desmond had a premonition of charlie's death and it was like it was meant to be and he couldn't stop/or was meant to stop it.

There are so many things that I have forgotten from earlier seasons that seemed important that still haven't really been addressed. What was the thing with the no's that Hurley won the lottery with that appeared everywhere? Has that been explained?

PfftTheMagicDragon · 01/03/2010 07:49

But Desmond had premonitions about everyone though, not just Charlie.

I think.
