Have we seen rose on island though? Cos people can be dead on island and alive in alt eg Boon and Charlie. But anyway.... now I'm thinking that the bodies could possibly be Jacob/MIB and that like MIB is Smokey Jacob could be 'something' that then takes on the form of a human..but then that doesn't explain how Jacob was able to be killed.
Someone on lostpedia suggested something about bodies not being buried allowing them to be inhabited (eg Eko's brother, Sayid, Locke, Christian) Oh and also that Claire may have died when the barracks were blown up, apparently Miles was confused that she was alive? Apparently there have been several references through the series' on bodies needing to be buried quickly. Just thought I'd throw that out there
Claire referred to both her dad (christian) and her 'friend' so don't think they can be same person. Do think she saw through Locke and saw MIB though.
Re the numbers, they were the same no's as in the hatch and the button had to be pressed every 108 minutes, they add up to 108 as well. They are also the same no's as next to the candidates on the wheel/in the cave. Also Jacob said to turn it to 108 so clearly significant. Also when Hurley was in institution and we saw Libby there Jacob was also in shot. Libby's husband was David, Hurley's imaginary friend was Dave-same person? Libby gave Desmond David's boat so helped bring him to island.
Merrylegs that is what gives me hope they will make it all come together-the producers have said they knew the ending from the beginning and that lots of the seemingly random bits had to be put in earlier in order for it all to come together at the end Still makes me v confused now though!
