Just realised, put Friday 4th in Title, its the 5th! Definitly Lost!

I missed the catch up (putting dd to bed), but am watching now. Still don't understand it!! can someone in the know please explain it,,,

We've still to catch up on the last 4 episodes of series 5. We were meant to watch them before tonight but never get round to watching them, mostly because they're so confusing and we're never in the mood. We're watching one now and are intending to watch the rest over the weekend then start on the new ones. It does make my head hurt though

Why wasn't Claire on the flight?

And Michael and Walt?

The theory is that it's an alternate timeline, so the flight we've just seen is not exactly the same as the original flight 815. So in this timeline Shannon stayed in Australia rather than flying back with Boone, it was Jack who was scared of flying (as opposed to Rose on the first flight 815), Hurley thinks he's lucky rather than cursed, etc.
I think Desmond turning up on the plane was the biggest of all.

This Locke is the bloke who was talking to Jacob on the beach at the end of the last series- the one who said he would find a loophole and kill him. AKA the Man in Black

PS, Man in Black is obviously some sort of evil to Jacob's goodness. It's all very exciting don't you think?

Just finished watching ep 2, dh and I reckon they didn't quite stop themselves from ever getting to the island, it just happened at a later time on a diff flight. All the Locke stuff does my head in !! And Juliet was down a different hole this time wasn't she? We didn't reckon it was the same one as the end of the last series?

The man in the taxi queue was 'Frogurt' (can't remember what his real name was)- he was one of the original survivors, he got shot by a flaming arrow when they travelled back to 1954 last series.
CrossworkGeek- glad to meet a fellow Lost obsessive, I can spend ages on Lostpedia reading up on all the theories and reminding myself of things I might have forgotten.
So, is Sayid still Sayid, or is he now a manifestation of Jacob? Did you notice that Miles looked really confused when he and Hurley were sitting by his body- I think he must have been trying to communicate with him, but couldn't as he wasn't really dead.
I'm just glad they didn't kill him off, Sayid in a vest is nearly as good as Sawyer with no shirt on

The flight is in an alternative timeline, so things had happened differently. The guy in the taxi queue was from the tail section, or possibly the middle section. He helped make the SOS sign with Bernard I think.

Which Locke stuff, Paddington? Also, yes it is the same hole, sort of. They went from the 70s to the "present day". Juliet was still in the same place, but the Swan hatch had still been built, thus the big whole from when they blew it up.

Usually I have watched all previous seasons before starting a new one, but DD has made that impossible. So wish I would have so everything was really fresh in my mind.

Oh cross post! I'm really intrigued to find out what happened to Claire, she just sort of disappeared in Season four and then that was that. Glad to see her again, anyway!

Anathema, when I was pregnant with DD and Season 5 came out, I rewatched every single episode, and would then read up about each on Lostpedia. I should have gone on Mastermind with Lost as my specialist subject, I would have won!!
