Just for my personal interest can someone explain Lost to me - I saw it up to series 3?

People on island. Flashforwards to them in future life where they can't get over the island.

can you borrow the dvd's off someone it's a bit difficult to explain.

Hmm. Not sure I'm enjoying this mystical legend type stuff so much. I mean, I know the island is mystical and legendy but we seem to have invested so much time in the gritty character stories, this sub-standard dungeons and dragons fairytale stuff feels as if it's being chucked at us rather desperately at the end.

Can it all be explained away by a 'cave of light'?

I think I need some more convincing. It's very smoke and mirrors... If we're talking shallow, Sawyer might as well just take his shirt off for the last few episodes. I'd be happy with that. Or Desmond. No more explanation needed, brother.

Right we missed it on Friday night believing it would be repated last night IT WAS NOT, I am taking from the above posts it was on on FRiday night

(actually not wailing too much as I watched most on Thursday night on RTE but wailing is for the benefit of dh who thinks we have both missed it, got me)

Anyway so was it on? or have you all watched on line don't want to look back through posts incase I read something I haven't seen yet

I thought Friday's episode sort of broke the pace and momentum they had been building up, not sure those explanations and back story warranted a full episode

HOWEVER

I have heard that the following episode makes up for it and sort of makes sense of some of it, the end is near no doubt a puzzling one

I watched it online here No buffering.

I watched the first 4 on sky player and there was between 10 and 20 minutes missing from each of them so I got put off (esp as I'm not a sky customer so had to pay to watch them)

Apparently it had the same problem for 24 and a couple of other shows. I emailed them and they said they were aware of the problem but didn't know when it would be resolved . Glad it seems to have been fixed now though

I have been downloading them from iTunes as I don't have Sky. Bit pricey but I can't bear not being up to speed!

i have an awful feeling this is how it's all going to end!

I've just caught up with the last episode. It was a bit of a filler one for me. I don't even remember them finding bodies or the stones so why do we need the over long explanation.

I suppose it sort of blurs the lines between good/evil. Old smokey is just a bit misunderstood with a clingy mother.

Can't believe there's only 2 episodes left! Now I haven't seen Sawyer without his top on for quite a few weeks so they better rectify that sharpish.

I was annoyed that they blurred the lines between good and evil when the writers specifically said that they killed off Jin and Sun (sob) to show how evil Smokey is.
I don't want to have to feel more sorry for him than Jacob!

That episode left me with way too many questions- who was PsychoMum? How do we know this whole 'protecting the light' thing is true considering she was a murdering liar?

And how did she single-handedly manage to destroy the settlers' village, blow up their well and kill them all on the spot without being stopped?

And how does Jacob get his candidates to come to the island- and for that matter how does HE manage to leave (seeing as we've seen him physically touch all the candidates in their various flashbacks).

I don't want a filler episode with too many questions when Desmond and Penny are waiting to be reunited!!!!!

i don't really want them introducing new storylines at this stage - its hared enough to keep track of the main characters.

Some questions.. the candidate - is that the candidate to take over guarding the cave from Jacob? Perhaps jacob can leave with the wheel turning thing that Ben used to get to Africa?

Why couldn't Locke just get the sub like everyone else - why was the plane the only way of escaping?

Well it seems that Locke (or should I say Smokey) has issues with water.

I think in this case though he didn't need the sub. His plan was just to get all the candidates on board and then blow it up (hence him switching his pack with Jack's). It seems that one of the rules is that Smokey can't escape the island if there are any candidates left alive.

I'm glad I did actually know that ep 15 didn't have any of the main characters in it so I guessed it would be about early Jacob and MIB and I was prepared for the type of episode it was.

Lots of people didn't like this episode but it was important to tell the back story of how the smoke monster and Jacob came about - they are not new characters and certainly wasn't a filler but an explanation of some of the island's mysteries. I also like the fact that they are not inherently Jacob/good and MIB/evil. And the Mother was a combination of good and evil too wasn't she?

The candidate is to replace Jacob to prevent smokey getting off the island. I think it is Jack. I'm not sure how Jacob could leave and return to the island as he obviously has several times but as the Others could then it makes sense that Jacob could leave too.

Anyway I'm off this thread until Friday now because the next episode airs in the US tonight and I will be avoiding this thread like the plague because if I hear any spoilers I will be most upset!
