Do you think Desmond is actually jacob i.e. he's taken over his body as did the smoke monster to Locke ?

And who is the boy that keeps appearing, a young Jacob ? I'm completely LOST

aristocat · 28/04/2010 11:18

PlumBumMum · 30/04/2010 11:08

How disappointing.
I think sometimes if they have to break in the States for whatever reason (sports events etc) they give us a break too to keep us just behind them.

FreakoidOrganisoid · 30/04/2010 21:08

Apparently ABC showed a special version of episode 9 (the one about richard) this week instead. No idea what was special about it or why they showed it this week though..

Thediaryofanobody · 30/04/2010 21:13

I think it might be to do with when Hawaii had a hurricane and lost filming was effected so there had to be a 1 week gap it will be back on next week.

Bizarre American TV scheduling means they often have a couple of weeks of repeats. The lost execs went to a lot of trouble to make sure it didn't happen for the final season (having a much long hiatus than normal) but mother nature got in the way.

spanky2 · 04/05/2010 13:49

I was really hoping to see Sawyer without his shirt and it wasn't on. Grrr

Thediaryofanobody · 04/05/2010 22:08

I believe Fridays episode it going to feature a lot off him and his beautiful body.

aristocat · 04/05/2010 22:30

are you teasing us thediary?

why isn't sawyer in anything else

Thediaryofanobody · 04/05/2010 22:36

I read a lot of spoilers obsessively and I'm sure we will see some sexy Sawyer. I intend to log straight on after DS early morning feed and fine out what happens in the current episode being played in the USA tonight.

Hasn't he done the odd movie or two, noting major but better than nothing.

aristocat · 04/05/2010 22:38

oooh fantastic news, thank you

raggie · 05/05/2010 09:42

Can't wait for the next episode. I thought the last one, which I've just caught up with, was great, all the threads finally coming together and some of the questions we've been asking getting answered.

Just about to dive into this about how the powers that be work it all out

lucykate · 05/05/2010 11:30

just watched the latest episode online, think it was episode 14, the candidate, was on in the usa last night.

OMFG!!!!!!, not going to spoil it for you, fantastic episode, quite shocking outcome.

good one gingernorks, this episode is not on in the uk till friday so some on this thread may not have seen it yet, which is why i didn't post any spoilers!

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 05/05/2010 18:39

Cheers gingernorks, haven't seen the episode yet and you've just ruined it for me

uglymugly · 05/05/2010 19:21

I reported gingernorks post, but it probably didn't contravene MN rules. I had seen comments elsewhere about this episode but I would never have posted anything here about it before it had aired in the UK.

Generally, the "rules" about spoilers on the internet is that if a forum/newsgroup is global, then comments on episodes can be made as soon as it's aired in whatever country it's first aired in. If a forum/newsgroup is mostly local to one geographical area, then comments aren't made until that episode has aired in that area.

This courtesy thing is a bit fuzzy, especially as MN has members from many different countries, but the vast majority (I'm pretty sure) will be resident in areas where the latest episode has not yet been shown.

In newsgroups, generally only the topic title is visible, and you have to physically click on that to show posts. But on MN, if you use the "last 15 minutes" etc options, a spoiler could show up on the screen and then you don't have any choice as to whether you read that spoiler or not.

But, I've been around the internet for a long, long time, so I've pretty much absorbed the "rules" about spoilers and why they are there. (And seen squillions of arguments on the subject.)

aristocat · 07/05/2010 17:11

i missed the deleted post, i assume they revealed what happens tonight

cant wait......

braveandcrazy · 07/05/2010 22:03

So so so pissed off I saw the spoiler and it really ... Spoiled it . Now I know why they call it that.

uglymugly · 07/05/2010 22:20

Yes, that is why they're called spoilers, and that's why there are "rules" about them. I read the alt.tv.lost newsgroup and I know what to avoid. Here, it was in your face and couldn't be avoided.

One other problem about spoilers is that the spoiler becomes the thing you're watching out for - so spoilers don't just spoil an episode, they skew your viewing of it.

Unavoidable spoilers are nasty.

Fortunately, there was a heck of a lot more in this episode than was given away by the spoiler, which is why Lost is so compelling.

Merrylegs · 07/05/2010 22:28

Well I saw no spoilers, so can I just say OMG Sun and Jin! And Hurley blubbing. Too sad. What a downer. I missed the first half so I am confused. I thought Locke's dad stole his kidney and shoved him out out a hotel window? And that's how Locke ended up in the wheelchair. Not the flying story. What did I miss?
