Love Raymond. He is so genuinely helpful, and seems to care about the contestants, unlike most of the pretend tyrants on these reality programme freakfests.

This is a terrible series of a format I adored in the past. No heart to it no teaching the teams just shite none of the deserve it.

I found this really depressing after watching professional masterchef earlier in the year. There are some amazing chefs out there who would do really well but can't get the funding/ support to go further. And Wham / Tepid pie boy win this. FFS

feel really sorry for Rebecca and Stephen, they seem like a lovely couple. I can see them running a really good pub with great food and fab atmosphere, hope something good comes of it for them. Glad it's not my money investing in the finalists!

On the basis of this series DH & I should open a restaurant with DH as cook. He does a mean Supernoodles & cheese with ketchup, ketchup on toast and microwave jacket spuds.

I can be obnoxiously mean, nasty obtuse & rude to people when I put my mind to it. I've even thought of names shortlist

I also felt v sorry for Rebecca and Stephen. They were the only couple I liked. I agree, they could have a great gastro pub. They are such a supportive, 'together' couple

At what point in the filming do you think they realised that this just wasn't working out? That NONE of the couples had any sort of charisma or rapport or ability? I had the sense from the very first episode that something was missing this year - it wasn't even that they got rid of the interesting contestants early on. They were all totally .

Raymond comforting Steven outside the demonstration was the only good moment in the whole series. I don't know if I can be bothered watching the final: where's the tension in watching a barman who can't chop a pepper compete 'against' a reasonable but personality-free cook? What I would like to see are Raymond and Nick and Margaret writing out cheques for 'their new business partners' Scotch egg chain.
