If it was rigged it goes right back to the restauarnt choosing keys thingy at beginning

They got by far the best position and a decked outside area

well you have got to admit its a bit of a coincidence that they had a picnic theme and got the only resteraunt with an outdoor space.
Also I live in bristol (just down the rd from where they were positioned) and they would have got much more passing trade where they were than any of the others.
The poor couple who ran front room wouldn't have had any at all.

It's a bloody farce!!!! Its not the flippin apprentice where they are looking for 'managers' its about picking a couple that could run a restaurant. If they wanted to show how well the blondies could run a restaurant there should have been more in it to do with the business elements like profit & loss, like they always used to! I was soooooo annoyed last night i was ranting at DH. As mentioned it was fixed from the start with their decking and picnic theme, and that despite being absolutely crap sailed through every stage of the competition. They lied and bullshitted nearly every week....and last nigth Sarah says her moneys always been on them .....I wouldn't trust that JJ as far as i could throw him - he has a funny look in his eyes...It's an insult to the other contestants that could actually cook.

I really hoped i'd be proven wrong last night but was so let down. Never again watching that program....but if Raymond fancies sending me a complimentary meal at 'Le Manoir' i may change my mind

You'll not see me queueing up for bloody scotch eggs and picinic foods anywhere either. The other contestants must feel gutted they wasted days/weeks/months of thier time on this farce!

I think part of the problem was that they absolutely hated Nathan. Always did, right from the start. They seemed to rig everything so that he fucked up the most too. I find it hard to believe that his side of the table wasn't better than the other bloke - I think they just picked on something to make him look bad.

It was just awful. Almost everything that is bad about these type of programmes tbh.

Raymond, the whole way through, kept saying what promise he thought JJ had no matter how many times he just didn't perform. The man couldn't even cook a risotto ffs! Didn't use any produce from the garden! He could not have done more wrong!

sooo glad everyone feels the same - what a complete waste of everyone's time - the other contestants' and all the viewers'.

the bloke couldn't even cook a risotto. or anything much really. a cake and some roast beef - those were the only things in the whole series.

will not bother watching again.

Missed the final - the contestants were rubbish. The picnic couple soooo useless. Wont bother with the next series if they don't have proper cooks on it

That blog has pissed me off now; it was a crap, shallow decision

Just read the blog too - not impressed at all.

I hope Chris gets a job with Raymond- that's what happened to the pair who came second last year. A friend of mine who is 'in the know' reckons they always stick one of Raymond's chefs in as head chef and the whole show is a sham anyway. I can't imagine it will be back next year.

I'm just hoping that the pair who came second go and work for Raymond at Le Manoir for a couple of years and really learn cooking/ management skills like Alistair and James did last year. I definitely think at the moment that would be better than winning.

If I lived near enough to bother, I would boycott Wham's restaurant though. I liked Badger and then the front room people.

Have just found this thread and realised that I am possibly the only person in the whole world who was pleased that they won!

agree! total farce and totally rigged. DH has just pointed out - how come JJ had his fancy little cocktail kit with him in the kitchen of that stately home in the first place?! very odd. and he apparently made blackberry martinis...even odder to just have a big bunch of blackberries just sitting around...so obviously a set up from the beginning; I feel a bit ripped off that I got so into it!
