MaggieBehave, yes 'Ella' does look like Jenny Agutter, but I googled Agutter and entry didn't mention a daughter.

Can't believe I didn't think how wife could stab him if she was on her front!

Understand why some think it a bit slow - so does my DP (who's convinced it's the daughter wot dunnit - somehow!) - but I think it's pretty compelling.

Ugh - that was just disgusting iLikeDots.

My new theory is that the good doctor hypnotised her at his house (using her watch), so that she'd go home and murder her husband. Trigger would have been when he sodomised her. Not sure why yet...

I spent the whole last episode screaming 'just tell them! at the telly.... it's a little frustrating, tho' probably quite true to life.

Found the thought of her having her baby put up for adoption quite harrowing.... what if she got out in a year or two for some reason. She'd lose her daughter for life.

Thought the birth was quite realistic, though I hate that male guard.

I missed it and now the sound on our brand new stonking great flat screen TV is fucked!! DH chose it. I wanted something a little less in your face

Will have to watch it on the tiny non-digital TV in our bedroom and catch up last nights on I-player.

I saw this for the first time yesterday and I thought it was really good. Beautifully acted and directed.

My heart was breakng at the shots of the beautiful breasteeding baby, and the prospect of the separation of mother and baby. The actress is wonderful; so understated and controlled.

I thought about this more last night, too much time on hands, and wonder if it will come out that Joe had had a vasectomy and the baby is the doctors??

Am a criminal defence lawyer and have been gripped by this! Normally cannot watch anything like this, but I think it is brilliant. There are stacks and stacks of technical inaccuracies but they just pale into insignificance in the overall picture of the abused woman and how the system treats them (that much is about spot on so far).

I love the portrayal of the solicitor, (for once they make the solicitor the good guy. Most unusual!) and when the woman barrister told her opponent to fuck off when he asked her for coffee was fab! Just a small detail as overall, of course the important issue is the abuse.

Can't wait for tonight as I can't stop wondering how this is all going to end.

Oh god, it was fecking dreadful. And there is no way any judge who had had Joe Miller in front of him would be allowed to try the case. Appeal point RIGHT THERE if she gets potted.

Wasn't it a DJ, Pvish? They don't have to stick to the script do they? LOL. At least they don't round here.

Oh stop me now before I start on the police station procedure.

I thought about that LadyH, it seemed bizarre that it even happened.

Wonder if the police officer man will coerce his wife into sex that she doesn't really want...odd that she wants to shag him at all though imo.

The prison guard played that rapist guy in Hollyoaks a few years back - he's obviously good at playing a creep!

I had to forward through the bit where the social worker took the baby away. Even though I can't warm to her character Juliet's pain was almost too much to bear .

Report
StrictlyAvadaKedavraarrrrghhhh · 08/10/2009 12:36

Wondering if they will pin what happened to Angela is it, the scouser? on to Juliet as a means to get her baby taken away and her out of the M&B unit (why was she back in prison for one night without baby though? Is this typical?)

Am also wondering on it being all clever and an expose I suppose of how we all jump to conclusions in this kind of thing and that actually she is a cold blooded killer and wasn't abused and Joe was a good guy etc.

Report
LaDiDaDi · 08/10/2009 12:48

Struggling to see Joe as entirely the good guy tbh. Also keep thinking that if she was a cold blooded killer why wouldn't she have started to mention abuse straight away as if she was that callous and clever she would have known that to be the only get out clause surely?

I think they want it to look very grey.
