You've got it wrong crankofthescrew!
He was given 600 pounds by Ella's godfather, yet he had 620 on him.
The drug dealer said he gave him 20 pounds hence the 620
I think the drug dealer is a red herring

sorry LG

Nice names people

notasausage · 09/10/2009 13:30

The blood was on her back so he was on top of her and she stabbed him with the knife backwards. I don't think there's any question that she did it?

Rindercella · 09/10/2009 13:31

I agree that the drug dealer is probably a red herring. And Juliet's barrister is going to bring it up in court and then hear the truth - that rather strangely the drug dealer sponsored Joe £20, thus make Juliet's defence appear to be weak & desperate.

Am loving the name changes

runawayquickly · 09/10/2009 13:34

Off to Costco to stock up on Vaseline?

TheTampaxTeaLady · 09/10/2009 13:37

Who was it who said their friend was an actor coming up in this? Have they been in yet? I don't think any new character has been brought in yet (apart from the baby of course?!)

200yearoldhorsehair · 09/10/2009 13:45

Oh, mrsruffalo. Are we sure? Did Saul change his story after seeing the evidence. He did buy flowers.
Is the new character Bridge Man or Midwife?

200yearoldhorsehair · 09/10/2009 13:51

Just checked. (sad loser emoticon]
"26 20's for 26 miles"
12.44mins in. [smug emoticon]

Then gave him another note (£20?) as "gift aid".
The plot thickens....

SussexVille · 09/10/2009 13:54

Why doesn't the baby have a name?

TwoManyFallsAndYouGetABadScore · 09/10/2009 13:56

I am so glad I have got this thread to show me all the bits I missed.

I am loving it although I do think the case would have been thrown out on about 100 technicalities if it was real (and I am not even a legal type).

I still think Juliet did it - just can't see it being the daughter. The daughter is in complete denial about her father and her mother doesn't want to shatter it which is why she hasn't spoken up. Agree that the pregnancy was probably the catalyst for action.

CybilLiberty · 09/10/2009 13:57

I'm finding this series compellingly frustrating.

Rather than long lingering shots of the accused wife scraping her eyebrows to smithereens(yes we know she's unstable) why not give us a bit more about the Police investigation? All the husbands note books, detailing his every move, the fact he made his dd put headphones on everynight, these things are not being mentioned and it's bugging me!

The 'godfather' character will def have had something to do with all this , mark my words.

And that drippy doctor, is he being called as a witness? Would they let her dd stay with a witness in the first place?

CybilLiberty · 09/10/2009 13:58

The baby does have a name, she called it 'Jo!' (I don't think she realises that might not be the most tactful name to call your new baby, considering you've just stuck a knife in the rapist father)

Lulumama · 09/10/2009 13:59

I am so enjoying this ! what a finely nuanced drama and the acting is brilliant. this is a really great thread too as there is so much detail that you miss when watching

Piffle · 09/10/2009 14:00

Anyone remember the request by Sophie O for the hospital CCTV?
denouement actuale, I think...

I have sneaking suspicion of freaky plot twist though.
Would that medication actually make her forgetful?

mrsruffallo · 09/10/2009 14:01

Does anyone find Juliet a bit bloody annoying

mrsruffallo · 09/10/2009 14:02

I bet she gets away with it, and turns oyut to be a criminal master mind
I await a kaiser soze type twist

LadyMuck · 09/10/2009 14:02

Tonight's list of characters includes the doctor and his daughter, quite early one (I assume that the list is in order of appearance). The grass is last in order of appearance though not sure what one can derive from that if anything. Drugdealer doesn't appear.

OrmIrian · 09/10/2009 14:03

?

A what, mrsr?

mrsruffallo · 09/10/2009 14:05

The Usual Suspects where the weak one turns out to be the criminal mastermind

TheTampaxTeaLady · 09/10/2009 14:14

The grass??

Piffle · 09/10/2009 14:14

maybe he was cross with her for getting pregnant, therefore preferred the alternative entrance.
Maybe he was going to make her kill herself. Perhaps there was regular knife play in a sexual context?
though feck knows how they can fit all that in one hour

costagirl · 09/10/2009 14:33

Sorry haven't read all the thread so sos if this has been suggested - anyone else think Dad was abusing/grooming daughter? That's why Juliet said "I did it for you?"

SussexVille · 09/10/2009 14:36

Thanks CybilLiberty, not surprised I missed that last night (half asleep with wine in hand).
