lg agree but then there's so much other stuff/fluff that it just doesnt address. like the drug dealer, the clerk, the daughter...

HeadlessLadyH · 09/10/2009 09:17

meant to also agree with lenin on your theory too.

SixtyFootDoll · 09/10/2009 09:26

If Police were still disclosing material at the start of the trial it would be adjourned, and the investigation would have been wrapped up long ago.

BellaBear · 09/10/2009 09:40

what about the drug dealer sponsoring for marathon? Do you agree with nasty police man that it is so silly it must be true?

cremolatorium · 09/10/2009 09:47

no the godfather has made the drug dealer say it. The drug dealer was selling Joe drugs for Juliet- to keep her doped up.

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 09/10/2009 10:02

Did we see the godfather talking to the drug dealer then? I missed that bit....

He certainly knows more than he's letting on, because I think he only gave him 26 quid... but I might have got that wrong....

OrmIrian · 09/10/2009 10:25

"The drug dealer was selling Joe drugs for Juliet- to keep her doped up. "
Ha! I've been saying that all along.

giveloveachance · 09/10/2009 10:39

missed last nights watching it on catch up, but remember the blood on the BACK of Juliet's nightie, he was on top of her when he was stabbed.

Rindercella · 09/10/2009 10:45

But Juliet's nighty was on back to front - when she was first in the police cell she was really concerned about that fact.

Am loving this - can't wait to see what happens tonight, but will have to Sky+ as will be out. Must remember not to read this thread first!

runawayquickly · 09/10/2009 10:47

Ooh, I am loving this, even though loads of annoying things that don't make sense.
For one thing, SURELY Juliet would have seen a psychiatrist straight away? The daughter has been 'evaluated' and had loads of help, but nothing for her. Surely she would have had some sort of evaluation when she was arrested in the first place?
P.S. I have stopped using Vaseline on my chapped lips

BunnyLebowski · 09/10/2009 10:54

I've just finished watching last night episode.

Dully McDullerson from Dullsville.

4 episodes of absolutely fark all happening and I can only presume one final episode with a startling revelation every 5 minutes (or no revelations at all which wouldn't surprise me).

Just a pile of pretentious, trying to be so arty and different plop with characters you couldn't give a toss about and holes in the plot you could drive a 5 tonne artic through.

Only good thing about it is the always wonderful Sophie Okonedo.

NoseyNooNoo · 09/10/2009 11:04

The clerk gave Joe 26 x £20, if that's of any relevance...

LilianGish · 09/10/2009 11:06

Have re-watched first episode - to try and see what actually happened. Definitely not daughter doing the stabbing. He's on top of Juliet when she stabs him. No suggestion she's having an affair with doctor - from rewatching (and knowing what we know now) I'd say she's had the pregnancy confirmed and decided to stop taking anti-depressants.
We don't hear Joe saying "Can you roll over for me" to Juliet - so either Ella has heard him say it before or he's said it to her.
I think the pregnancy is what makes Juliet decide to act which makes me think he might have abused Ella when she was younger. In first episode he puts headphones on Ella then sits outside her room and weeps while singing song he used to sing to her as a child. Maybe she was too young to remember abuse/ has blocked it out. That's why Juliet is so reluctant to talk about it - doesn't want to revive those memories for her daughter.
I think the drug dealer is a red herring. rewatching the first episode you see him return from the run with a £20 note - confirming drug dealer's story.
Can't wait to see what happens tonight!!

Megglevache · 09/10/2009 11:14

Juliet got really upset when the screw was being touchy with Jac. It was one of the only things to rile her so far.

I think that was significant.

I think Joe had abused/hurt Ella and it triggered her to kill him.

LilianGish · 09/10/2009 11:26

I think the trigger is the new baby - too late for Ella, but she she can stop it happening again.

I'm sure she said she didn't want to.

LilianGish · 09/10/2009 12:24

She was already lying on her side/front - I think what he actually said was "Hello my lovely girl" which with the hindsight of thinking he might have abused his daughter was actually rather sinister.

LilianGish · 09/10/2009 12:25

Actually

Megglevache · 09/10/2009 12:34

I have a question.

Why did Juliet say sorry to the girl in her cel? (the self harmer) when she saw her again, just before she cut her neck.

StrictlyAvadaKedavraarrrrghhhh · 09/10/2009 13:08

Because (I think I'm right in saying) it was Juliet being asked by the Tampax Tea Lady who grassed and she kind of didn't make it clear it wasn't the scouser, leading to her getting sugared.

StrictlyAvadaKedavraarrrrghhhh · 09/10/2009 13:09

ooh I feel a temp name change coming on

TheTampaxTeaLady · 09/10/2009 13:10
CrankOfTheScrew · 09/10/2009 13:12

Nosey I was just about to say that! I totted it up at the time as it seemed significant. Only just got to computer. Saul gaveJoe 20quid for every mile.
26x£20=£520!
That's an extra £100 unaccounted for! Maybe Joe was selling prescription drugs to the drug dealer.

Also, what 13yo watches her parents humping and doesn't boak? I thought that was odd. Joe deffo raping Ella I thought. She had to "play mum". I think Juliet knew too. Maybe, as someone said Ella did it in jelousy. Or Juliet did it for her, as she said.

I'm not sure there will beany more major twists. (Now we've covered all options.

What about that extra £100 though?
