I know I shouldn't watch this but I probably will. Can't beleive Kelly Brook is going to be one of the presenters - I thought she was all Hollywood now. And I thought Jayne Middlemiss was way too cool to be involved in something like this too.

Not just women, Tommy, it's everybody! He's a selfish tw*t. Anyone think he was a spoilt child by any chance or is that just generalising!?

treacletart · 15/06/2005 17:35

Anyone else think Rebecca Loss might have a bit of a 'tache problem?

JoolsToo · 15/06/2005 17:45

you could probably make a nice pair of shoes out of that tanned skin too

Earlybird · 15/06/2005 17:53

Even though Liz has been almost invisible (though likeable) on the show, I think she must be still there because of her music fans who are voting for her.

However, I bet it will be Liz who goes tonight. If not Liz, then Rebecca.

emily05 · 15/06/2005 22:57

who went?

Willow2 · 15/06/2005 22:58

Rebecca

emily05 · 15/06/2005 22:59

thanks willow

Earlybird · 15/06/2005 23:01

Rebecca went. She was a good sport about it, and didn't seem upset at all.

I have a theory now about Liz. Many bands have big and well organised fan clubs. I suspect that her band's fan club has been mobilised to keep voting for her en masse. There is no way she could still be in without some sort of organised plan - we simply haven't seen enough of her on the show due to editing.

although Liz does just seem "normal". It does seem in a lot of these shows that the public like the ones that are ordinary - e.g. Liz and Jayne. Maybe that's what it is?
(Can't say as haven't actually voted!!)

Earlybird · 15/06/2005 23:10

rickman, yeah, I'm a bit OTT with it! Guess it can happen when you've been single a long time and wonder what it might be like to venture out into the world of romance again! Once the show is over, guess I'll have to return to going to bed at a reasonable hour, and will then deserve my name of Earlybird again!!

Won't surprise you to know that this is the only show I watch. No Big Brother, no Desperate Housewives, no Footballer's Wives, etc...don't quite know how/why I've gotten so caught up in this one. Guess it's my silly season summer telly!

Can someone please tell me what Isabella sees in Paul? And why do Nikki and Isabella and almost everyone seem to just accept Paul's psycho behaviour?

Tommy · 16/06/2005 09:56

that's what worries me fairymum - he seems so manipulative and they think it's all their fault! I think what he said to Issy when they were out on their trip was unforgiveable and yet she seems to have fallen for him again I hope they both (particularly Issy)have some good friends who can put them right when they get home.

Earlybird · 16/06/2005 19:58

There was a funny item on Popbitch today about Paul. Here it is, in all it's cut/paste glory!

"Paul Danan, the must-watch star of Celebrity
Love Island. But before Isabella Hervey and
Nikki Ziering, Paul used to have an obsession
with Cameron Diaz. He went to LA to try and
meet her, and when he couldn't Paul found out
who her lawyer was, and sent a designer handbag
and pair of shoes to him for Cameron.

Paul then got himself into the Charlies Angels
premiere and tried to get the security guards
to let him into the VIP area to meet Diaz.
When that failed he took to shouting across
the velvet rope "Cam... Cam.. did you like
your bag? It was from me you know!"

Unsurprisingly, Mr Danan was ejected as officials
thought he was a stalker.

(Fyi: Despite everyone's initial misgivings, the
torrent of bad reviews and despite, or because of,
its minimalist tedium Celebrity Love Island
brilliant. This summer's most talked-about TV.
Next to it, Big Brother looks fake, gimmicky, and
crammed with attention-seeking wannabes.)"

tamula · 16/06/2005 20:01

Did anyone else think that Paul was a complete nutcase since first clapping eyes on him on Celeb Love Island? He is such a moron, missing a chromosome me thinks...

Tommy · 16/06/2005 22:43

that doesn't surprise me Earlybird!
Did you see Nikki tonight? How can she say she's really fond of Paul still after the way he spoke to her?

Earlybird · 16/06/2005 22:54

Tommy - I suppose Nikki is fond of Paul because he seemed to be the only one that made a real effort to get to know her...even though his motives were purely sexual. I suppose she's accustomed to relating to people (men) on that basis. When he turned on her, I started to feel sorry for her....she seemed sad/hurt and lonely. Even the footage of her tonight asking the public to keep her in seemed half hearted. I think she wanted to go.

But wasn't she odd in the interview with Patrick and Kelly?? Felt sorry for her once again when she said she hasn't "let anyone in" for quite a while. She must inhabit a very strange world in real life.

I wonder if Isabella will still feel the same way about Paul when she reads/hears about the media/public perception of Paul. He really has behaved badly.

Really starting to dislike Abi. She made some odd comments tonight.

Tommy · 17/06/2005 09:24

agree on the Abi front - think she's really fake and actually could be a bit of a b*ch when she wants.

GhostofNatt · 17/06/2005 09:56

I think the whole thing is a bit like college - people go out with sociopaths like Paul because he is waht seems to be available and then they get otu and realise there is a whole world of other men who are not mad or bad. Reckon Isabella and Nikki will quickly wonder what they were thinking. Nikki seems a rather damaged character

Earlybird · 17/06/2005 15:41

Isn't tonight's eviction one girl and one boy? Who do you think will go? I hope it's Lee and Abi. As I've said, I can't believe he's fallen for her. And I think she is playing a big game in an attempt to win.

I hope Paul and Isabella stay because they're fascinating to watch because they're so screwed up! I want Fran and Jayne to win. And, as always, Liz is nice, but not a factor in my book.

Tommy · 17/06/2005 17:08

I'm not really bothered who wins but I am a bit worried that I will watch This Morning when they interview them and if it's someone awful like Abi or Paul then I'll hate myself for watching it!

Lee & Abi: never mind 'can't believe he's fallen for her' I don't believe she's fallen for him!
