Are you ready?

Can't wait to see Greg.

OP posts:
squeaver · 29/05/2009 22:31

When they did that Oliver one on BBC 1 they made a big thing out of the boys not having to perform competitively for the Tv audience and not winning/losing live. Much more responsible

MollieO · 29/05/2009 22:31

Have just seen it on the news. There is no way she should be in the final for nerves or talent. Poor love.

MollieO · 29/05/2009 22:33

Natalie was a better singer.

pinotmonster · 29/05/2009 22:33

I feel for Aidan too - on the ITV2 show he did not even get a mention for the first 10 mins and he bloody won!

Nancy66 · 29/05/2009 22:33

Voting breakdown from tonight:

Aiden Davis 43%
Hollie Steel 32%
Greg Pritchard 18%
Good Evans 3.2%
DCD Seniors 2.8%
The Dreambears 0.5%

Luke Clements 0.2%

ilovesprouts · 29/05/2009 22:36

mum will sell story in one of the rags no doubt

sleepyeyes · 29/05/2009 22:37

Swallow the bile people she's a bloody child!
We have seen 10 minute of this child's life way OTT and nasty to judge and decide what 'type' she is like.

expatinscotland · 29/05/2009 22:38

I don't care how fucking good or enthusiastic they are. Kids strive to please.

That is why there is a minimum age for work.

A min age is a min age and that should be it for all this stuff - Olympics, BGT, Xfactor, modelling, etc.

BitOfFun · 29/05/2009 22:41

There have been little kids in showbiz from the year dot. It rarely turns out well...

violethill · 29/05/2009 22:42

expat - But that would be denying the chance to kids like Aidan who genuinely have talent and genuinely have a thirst to be on this sort of thing. Why should they not have that chance just because some ignorant parents push their kids into things they blatantly can't do?

sleepyeyes · 29/05/2009 22:44

Violet If he's good enough he will still have the talent in 4/5 years time.

MollieO · 29/05/2009 22:45

Have just seen the whole thing on you tube and it gives a different impression (at least to me). I still don't think she is as talented as Natalie but honestly if my ds was up there singing and then stopped I would be right up there giving him a hug and encouragement because I would know if ds was there it would be because that is what he wanted. I think there should be an age limit but that is a separate issue.

violethill · 29/05/2009 22:46

He may well. But some kids with genuine talent want to perform at a younger age than 16.

Nancy66 · 29/05/2009 22:46

No, don't agree - there are some brilliant child performers - she just ain't one of 'em

violethill · 29/05/2009 22:52

Agree Nancy. That's the bottom line. If Aidan had shown some nerves and slipped up - that would have been stage fright. This girl was just crap. She can't sing. If she'd got through it without tears, she'd have had some harsh comments from the judges I reckon. But because she cried and wanted to do it again, she gets allowed through....

BitOfFun · 29/05/2009 22:52

I too would be cautios about branding the mum a Mrs Worthington- she may well have just wanted to cheer her dd on and help her do her best, knowing how devastated she'd feel at cocking it up. How many of us have said "Oh go on then, that one was just a practice!" when we've seen their bottom lips going when they roll a double one?I know I have.

misdee · 29/05/2009 22:54

i just re-watched it on youtube.

and hollie asked as soon as she styarted sobbing, b4 her mum got there if she could start again.

oodlesofpoodles · 29/05/2009 23:00

If it was my dd saying 'please can I do it again, please, please' I wouldn't have been able to say no either. She wasn't strong enough to sing live but hindsight is 20:20. Far to much presure on her for tomorrow though, if I was her mother I would pull her out. I think she is a good singer but nowhere near good enough to win. There was some dross on tonight.

MollieO · 29/05/2009 23:02

I didn't see a pushy mum. All I saw was someone trying to comfort their child. As soon as she stopped she asked if she could do it again and then started crying and then her mum and AH appeared.

pointydog · 29/05/2009 23:07

another thread on this? such a shitey programme, such a dearth of talent

Tamarto · 29/05/2009 23:15

Some people on this thread should be ashamed, the pure poison being spouted about a child is digusting.

KiwiKat · 30/05/2009 00:06

Greg is considerably more talented than Hollie, but unfortunately gave a very poor performance tonight. I agree that Hollie got through on the sympathy vote, which is completely wrong - this is Britain's Got Talent, NOT Britain's Got Courage. And I feel very sorry for Aidan (who impressed the socks off both me and dh, and genuinely deserved to win) losing his moment of glory.

Tinker · 30/05/2009 00:12

I must admit, I thought the crying looked staged. And that's not an attack on the child but on the adults involved in this. Horrible manipulation.
