I wondered if anyone knows when Ashes is back? Can't be too long now surely?

Have been watching Life on Mars again on BT Vision and forgot how jaw-droppingly fab it was....

Yes, it's nice to see Luigi being a bit more like Nelson from The Railway Arms in Life On Mars.

I didn't guess the transsexual thing until quite late on, because I'm far too wrapped up in looking for ruddy rose clues, Martin Summers and all the Gene/Alex stuff. It's jolly nice to be surprised - they are packing an awful lot into these episodes, I am truly baffled about how they are going to resolve it.

Since I have a bad case of Mummy Alzheimers, can anyone remind me about 'the bed at the beginning' bit and what conclusion we should draw from it?

Right at the beginning of this series, there are 2 nurses in a hotel room, in the present day, and on the tv on the wall is a news story about Alex Drake getting shot. One of the nurses says something like 'Don't suppose she'll be alive for long', and the other one says (again, paraphrasing), 'This one will be with her by the end of the day' (by 'this one' meaning the person in the bed they're making). Kay was speculating that it was Gene in the bed, but now we're not sure - maybe it's Martin Summers?

Right, well, late to the party because of my fun fun fun with the valium fairies, but from where I'm sitting all bets are off. I haven't got a clue.

I did think Alex would tell Gene the truth about herself and he wouldn't believe her, and then discover something that proved it (like, you know, waking up in the present and discovering a woman with Alex in the same hospital) but I honestly haven't got a scooby.

I do think that Summers is going to cark it, and that's going to shock Alex about what '1982' really is, but that's just a hunch.

Haven't written anything else recently because the valium fairies just want me to sing 'God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen' and that's not going to work in a A2A fic. Normal service will be resumed when I am not sitting with one foot in la la land.

Mmm - he was looking good, wasn't he. Somehow cleaner cut than normal . But the whole bit with Chris was so sad and shocking. Took me completely by surprise - I was sure they were lining up the tall floppy haired shifty-looking guy who hasn't really been in it for the traitor.

I thought the same as Jackie - when the camera panned Chris, Ray, Shaz, Random Extra ... I figured that was the guy!

I was really surprised when it was Chris but I guess it makes sense ... the comment Ray made in Luigi's about him borrowing the money for hte ring was a clue (with hindsight of course, I'm not that clever!)

Anyone think Chris will save Ray's life or something similar next week so they all end up mates again?

Chris made me cry, so didn't want it to be him, but it was looking likely for a number of reasons (Not least if you read Martin Summers blog on the Ashes website).

It's all going completely bonkers next week. No way they can wrap it up neatly - we're looking at the Empire Strikes Back ending, people... and we still haven't seen that Audi TT...

Am I allowed to drop in here what my DH worked out must be going on (he HAS to be right I think) or would it ruin it for everyone else?

I'm open to theories ... maybe with a spoiler space tho ... But I'm happy to hear about it this time next week, too.
