Why am I watching this when I know it's just going to freak me out??

The survival rate must have been a lot less than 10%, more like 1 in 100,000.

Is the Freema character going to survive? Surely they didn't cast someone famous only to kill her off after 20 lines of dialogue? I was really quite pleased that the mother of Peter character had died and disappointed when she turn out not to have. The actress annoys me slightly for some reason that I can't quite put my finger on, she's slightly too earnest or something.

IllegallyBrunette · 23/11/2008 22:40

But the hubby is also in the pic you linked too and he is most definatly dead cos his wife set fire to him lol.

bran · 23/11/2008 22:41

The Freema character being on the character list doesn't prove anything Trillian. Peter's father is on the list and in the picture too and Abbey burnt his body so he's definitely gone.

differentID · 23/11/2008 22:42

lol bran- She was in Bonekickers recently, I believe several people said exactly the same about her in that.

2shoes · 23/11/2008 22:42

wow that was good

IllegallyBrunette · 23/11/2008 22:43

She isn't that famous though really is she ??

What else has she been in other than Dr Who and Bones ?

bran · 23/11/2008 22:44

She was in that thing with the ugly bloke from Men Behaving Badly, he was a funeral director and she was a midwife. She was annoyingly earnest in that too.

solidgoldbrass · 23/11/2008 22:45

I only very vaguely remember the original as being scary and depressing - don't know how close to it this is.

differentID · 23/11/2008 22:45

She's becoming much more famous. She's in Little Dorrit, cRossroads, The Bill and Casualty- bit parts mostly.
She hasn't been in Bones?

IllegallyBrunette · 23/11/2008 22:45

I wasn't born when they did the original, which will be why I don't remember it lol.

bran · 23/11/2008 22:46

Sorry that last message was about the woman who plays Abbey, I've just realised that you mean that Freema isn't that famous.

IllegallyBrunette · 23/11/2008 22:46

Sorry, I meant Bonekickers, as someone else said further down.

differentID · 23/11/2008 22:47

sorry crossed wires and all that.

IllegallyBrunette · 23/11/2008 22:47

I think we are all getting a bit confused lol.

Tinker · 23/11/2008 22:48

I do remember this from the first time round but I can't remember how it ended. I'm sure there was more than one series.

differentID · 23/11/2008 22:48

my fault, ignore me!

TrillianAstra · 23/11/2008 22:52

Sorry, maybe she won't come back then. Bit of a waste, though. SHe may not be famous but sh'es very recognisable to anyone who is likely to be watching scifi type things on the BBC.

chipmunkswhereareyou · 23/11/2008 22:55

Tinker - just seen on BBC website that there were 38 episodes in the original.

OP posts:
differentID · 23/11/2008 22:55

this one ends on 23rd december I believe.

Tinker · 23/11/2008 22:57

Ah, so maybe 2 or 3 series.

LovelyDear · 23/11/2008 23:05

i forced myself to watch this, a kind of kill or cure approach because hearing the adverts on the radio was freaking me out. anyway, i enjoyed it in the end. obviously daft for all the points raised but hey, entertaining. and it really brought back odd memories of the impact the 1975 version. probably what lead to me being a neurotic loon in the first place... that and changes, the kids version. washing machines taking over or something.?

UnquietDad · 23/11/2008 23:14

There were 3 series.

Original Survivors site, screencaps and all

Look at it this way - we are only following these people because they are the ones who happen to meet up with each other.

UnquietDad · 23/11/2008 23:15

And for Lovelydear - The Changes

brightwell · 24/11/2008 07:49

Just to scare everyone.... I had a "mask fit test" last week at work (I'm a nurse)....in case of a flu pandemic! I remember the 70's series, it used to scare me. Looking forward to tomorrow's episode.
