Why am I watching this when I know it's just going to freak me out??

Just catching up on iplayer - pregnant lady was totally jinxed by someone saying 'everything's going to be fine'. After that you just know it'll either be breech or have the cord wrapped around its neck or somehting.

Thye kind of have to do a 2nd one after that ending.

Yes. And knowing my usual attention span I will lose interest about mid way thru the second series!
Did that with Lost, Life on Mars, Spooks and many others!

Well, to be honest they were never going to "wrap it all up" because the story of how society survives after such a catastrophe is the story of an entire generation! So if it was good and got high ratings they could get about 25 series out of it!

Interesting PJ situation - I see now why they were being ambiguous over his involvement in series 2. As for the blue box's next occupant - it's all up in the air again!

Okay you have a point UD but there were too many loose ends there, especially with the bit about Peeeeter.

Not so much loose ends as deliberate strands to feed into a second series, getting an audience primed to demand recommission if one is not immediately forthcoming!

It should get a second series - it got between 5 and 7 million viewers which is very good for a BBC drama these days.

According to Digital Spy (just looked) the second series has been commissioned, with Julie Graham, Max Beesley & Philip Rhys confirmed as returning.

It's a well-known trick in TV drama, to establish a group and break them up at the end of the series, then spend a couple of episodes bringing them all back together - with slight amendments/additions - at the start of the next. Robin of Sherwood, Blake's Seven, Babylon 5, Lost and, indeed, the original Survivors all did it!

But a friend of mine spoke to one of the stars (one of the three mentioned) a few weeks ago and they said there hadn't been a firm commission for a second series so I'm not sure about the Digital Spy story...I'd like to be wrong though as I really want to know what happens.

The way Abby was taken is the stuff of nightmares - I mean how utterly terrifying. And imagine when she finds out that she is the key to the destruction of the remaining survivors - that'd be a shitty feeling wouldn't it.

But excuse me for asking a dumb qn. Are the baddies in the lab trying to destroy everyone apart from a select few so they can create a master race or just to take over what's left of the world? That hasn't been explained or has it and I missed it?

No it was cancelled. It should have come back in January/February time and when it didn't I googled it and it was cancelled due to lower than expected viewing figures. Shame as I really enjoyed it and was looking forward to the new series.

NNNNOOOOoooooooo! That is so not fair. Was so in to it and totally different from the book.Expect I"ll just have to plump for the next series of The Walking Dead.Well worth a watch.Anyone know when that"ll be back? Desperate Housewives just doesn"t cut the mustard for me!
