I was at work (still am) but I've downloaded the podcast & DD & I will listen to it tonight.

The above looked interesting - I hope he does sign up for 2010 - not sure about Mrs Michael Douglas as a companion though.

scaryteacher · 10/09/2008 17:17

Where do I get the podcast please?

saltire · 10/09/2008 17:25

Hi, I'm hijacking your thread (am a Dr Who, jsut cna't keep up).
Where can I buy "The Stowaway" - the song from the Voyage of the Dammend? DS2 loves all things Dr Who and I am trying to get it , preferably as a CD, but a download would do
Thanks

scaryteacher · 10/09/2008 19:04

Doctor Who Original Music from Series Three
Amazon £9.98

Go to music and put in Dr Who. You'll find series 1 and 2 music up first, then page through and you'll find this.

RustyBear · 10/09/2008 20:06

Torchwood podcast

scaryteacher · 11/09/2008 07:11

Thanks - it was on whilst ds was at school, and if I download it, then it's a carrot to go with the homework stick (French project) tonight!!

saltire · 11/09/2008 07:47

scaryteacher - thanks for that

scaryteacher · 11/09/2008 09:08

I'll let you know what the CDs are like - I am awaiting the Amazon order, should be today if the BFPO gets in gear. I had to buy the cds after going to the Dr Who prom - they will make a nice change from Linkin Park anyway!

serenity · 11/09/2008 09:54

Hahaha hahaha

Not bloody likely.

serenity · 11/09/2008 11:40

SciFiFan,

Very, very incredibly spoilery Supernatural stuff

one

two

SciFiFan · 11/09/2008 19:25

Ooooohhh Serenity - you knew I wouldn't be able to resist. Thanks. Now I'm even more excited than I was before. Lol to the girl in the second one - the only thing better than Sam would be Dean & Sam together .

Do you know when the next season will hit ITV2? We'll have to start up a thread when it does!

Re the Torchwood radio play - can someone tell me why did Jack have to send Ianto and Gwen into the tunnels - it didn't seem to achieve anything other than putting them in danger. Did I miss something?? Other than that I enjoyed it - though I am a bit desperate in these Who-less times.

serenity · 12/09/2008 01:00

It'll be on in January/February, but I'm far too impatient to wait that long We can definitely do a thread then though, as I'll watch it again when ITV2 shows it

I shall do the honourable thing however and keep my mouth shut..........

S1ur · 12/09/2008 01:09

I listened to torchwood radio play.

I think they went into tunnel to confirm existance of particular alien. After was only a hypothesis (backed up by disappearing particle evidence of course).

I liked it. I pretended to clean kitchen so I could listen in peace.

JackieNo · 12/09/2008 12:40

Anyone else seen the teaser trailers for Merlin? Not sure what it'll be like. I think it's aimed at the same Doctor Who/Robin Hood family audience.

JackieNo · 12/09/2008 12:45

More info from the Grauniad. Seems a bit weird that Merlin and Arthur should be the same age - most stories portray him as much older than Arthur, don't they?

SciFiFan · 12/09/2008 16:09

JackieNo - I didn't get into Robin Hood but i think I'll give it a go. It gets a good write up in SFX and it does have Anthony Head (Giles in Buffy) on the cast list which is an added bonus.

Thanks for the explanation Slur - it still seems a bit of a risk to take IMO but I suppose it made for a more exciting storyline .

scaryteacher · 13/09/2008 11:32

Saltire - the CDs are fab - now loaded onto itunes and iPod for ds and I'm sitting here listening to Song For Ten over and over. Better by Neil Hannon than the guy at the prom methinks, and Stowaway is brilliant too.

Cappuccino · 13/09/2008 21:34

yes Merlin should have been older, bearing in mind that he was meant to have made possible the conception of Arthur by tricking Arthur's mum into thinking that Merlin's brother was in fact her husband

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/celebritynews/2966472/Stage-actor-Russell-Tovey-tipped-as-the-el eventh-Doctor-Who.html

article in the Telegraph today. I hope DT stays on.

serenity · 16/09/2008 10:43

It's a bit of a crap title by the Telegraph isn't it? I mean, he's not really tipped. RTD casually mentions he would have liked him as the next doctor, but RTD won't even be in charge at that point....if Moffet had been saying it, well that's a different story. It's a bit of a 'Sun' story

Oh, and agree with Cappuchino, Merlin is/should be way, way older than Arthur (I'll still give it a try though)

Cappuccino · 16/09/2008 13:22

I love the Arthurian legends so much, but they are legends, so I guess they are there to be played with. They are not history and everyone manages to play with that, so why should they be set in stone?

I did love Excalibur precisely for the conception scene, where the bloke did the deed still in full metal armour, clanking back and forth

RustyBear · 17/09/2008 16:36

scaryteacher - who sang Song for ten at the prom? Because it wasn't Neil Hannon in the episode.

Did you see Murray Gold dedicated the CD to 'Indigo Gold' - if that's his daughter, I think it might have provoked a hard hat & popcorn baby names thread on MN!

scaryteacher · 18/09/2008 07:32

It was Tim Phillips who did it at the Prom and on the episode. There's a big difference between the two - the one on the episode is quite chimey and Christmassy (Christmas invasion) and Phil Spectorish. The one on the CD seems more structured and is longer. I like both (but the Neil Hannon best) and am driving ds mad as I have it on all the time and am constantly humming it.

RustyBear · 18/09/2008 11:09

I hum it too! It's not the sort of tune I usually go for, but for some reason it puts a hook in my mind.

I have the CDs of series 1&2 and 3 - I'm looking out for 4 now.
