Wow they've definately piqued my curiosity with those two links.

Did you see the following posted near your second link? Never would have thought of that cross-over but they probably make quite a good pairing .

Dean seems to be back but the second title makes me suspicious that all is not as it seems.

SciFiFan · 05/09/2008 17:31

I normally have one at home (in kitchen so can't be too risque) and another at work (yes my team had to get used to Spike ).

My poor DH has had to get used to my signed picture of Spike next to the PC at home. He also has to put up with my SFX Dr Who magnets on the fridge.

serenity · 05/09/2008 17:32

I've read some rather good SPN/Buffy fanfic actually - it works really well. people seem to be able to mesh the two worlds together pretty easily. Dean/Faith is strangely compelling as is Xander as a misbegotten Winchester (it works honestly!)

SciFiFan · 05/09/2008 17:35

STOP PRESS

Breaking news - just heard about the following via my dear old dad.

Torchwood Wed Radio 4

serenity · 05/09/2008 17:35

Luckily for me DH shares my taste in TV (not the Jensen/Tennant/Angel/Spike drooling though, but I put up with his Xena/Callisto/Willow fetishes)

(I've got those magnets up too)

SciFiFan · 05/09/2008 17:37

Link please Serenity. What do you think of the Wincest fanfic - I like slash and have read a couple but it's a step too far for me.

serenity · 05/09/2008 17:37

Oooooooh a strangely compelling mix of real life and fun life. I'll have to listen to that (if the world has ended because of the real experiment thingy!)

serenity · 05/09/2008 17:46

I'll find you some, but atm i'm about 1/2 hour behind schedule for dinner (have to go to work!)

Ok, I've had lots of discussions about wincest with both Dh and my sister (who's a SPN fan too) My sister loathes it, it makes her very uncomfortable - I believe the term is 'squick' Dh doesn't get it, but he doesn't get slash anyway. I can defend it, sort of, (it's fiction about fictional characters, it's not real - the brother thing just makes it more angsty, and as Kay said earlier, I'm a Whedonite, I live on angst) but it took a few rather good fic recommendations before I could read it without cringing, and generally I don't admit to reading it (blown it now though) I absolutely 100% get that people don't like it, I myself don't like RPS, as I think it's intruding too far into real peoples private lives, but there's tons of that too.

oh good grief i have to go....

I'll be back after work (about 1am!)

Cappuccino · 07/09/2008 20:02

oooh! A radio play!

FYI, my new computer comes this week, and I can't flippin' wait. I probably won't be able to get it all set up until the weekend, but the end is in sight.

In Who gossip news, they still can't let the McGann rumour die, but there are signs that RTD's fanwankery really does know no bounds...

Oh, yeah, and we're going to find out who picked the ring up, and you know who she is.

As always, this could all be cobblers, but that's half the fun...

JackieNo · 08/09/2008 16:18

Who, who? Where? Where? Link, pleeease. All overexcited about the ring now. And v glad your computer's on the way.

SciFiFan · 08/09/2008 16:37

What's the Paul McGann rumour??

I've heard that Cathering Tate has made it public that she's missing DW and would love to do more. Also that DT has now signed for the 2010 season.

Also there is strong talk of a DW film but I don't know any more details than that.

Don't forget the Torchwood Radio Play Wed 2.15 Radio 4 - looks good!

serenity · 08/09/2008 16:39

This isn't a link for Kay's stuff but is connected, look here

SciFiFan · 08/09/2008 17:08

Thanks Serenity - I believe the first of the specials will be shown at Easter.

Having John Simm back again will be excellent - I'm still counting down the days .

Like Dior, I'm marking the thread - we sound like a couple of dogs marking their territory! Maybe I should just put PMSL...

(Can't connect to Serenity's link btw!)

After the Master died, and was cremated on some sort of pyre, there was a brief scene of a woman's hand picking up a ring, that had dropped off the Master's finger, from the ashes. But we never knew who it was.

JackieNo · 09/09/2008 12:36

The Wikipedia page on The Master says that:

"A female hand with long, bright red fingernails, sarcastically referred to in the accompanying podcast as "the hand of the Rani", picks up the Master's ring from the remains of the pyre, while the sound of the Master's insane laughter rings in the background. Russell T Davies stated on the episode's podcast that the current production team had no intention of bringing the Master back, but the scene was included to keep the possibility open for future producers."

Cappuccino · 09/09/2008 12:49

now you see I have no memory of that whatsoever

I can't even remember a pyre

OP posts:
serenity · 09/09/2008 13:27

You can see it at the end of this clip

For Rusty .....

"Catherine Tate and John Simm will return to Doctor Who next year.

Tate will reprise her role as assistant Donna Noble for one of the four specials planned for next year, while Life On Mars star Simm will return as villainous Time Lord The Master.

A Who source told The Sun: "Fans will be delighted to see Catherine back. She was one of the wackiest companions of all time and she brought heaps of humour. And it's great to have John back - he and David Tennant have a real nemesis chemistry."

Veteran actor Bernard Cribbins will also be back to play Donna's grandfather Wilf.

Tate, whose character's memory was wiped in last year's series finale, earlier expressed her desire to return to the cult show, saying: "In science fiction, anything is possible" "

RustyBear · 09/09/2008 13:42

Thanks, serenity

mygirllollipop · 10/09/2008 15:20

Did you all listen to the Torchwood? I did but it kept missing bits - should have tried listening through a proper radio I suppose!
