How do I find your livejournal? (and I'm particulary interested in the rude bits )

wintera · 03/01/2009 20:02

I don't think he is Vampire looking. I do however think he looks a bit like Herman Munster. He has that "square head" look about him. He's a good actor though so am thinking he can pull it off.

But then again its no big deal to me as although I am a Dr Who fan I can safely say I have never ever lusted after any of them. As long as he can act then I'm happy!

KayHarker · 03/01/2009 20:02

I'm calming down a little. It's just.. gah, can't get past the 'looks too young' thing yet.

Don't care about not finding him physically attractive (Sylvester McCoy, hello...) it's just the Doctor now looks like any other male lead in the fantasy/sci-fi genre.

I'd love to know who else was actually auditioned. I'm sure it will be fine. I'm just not yet sure it will be Doctor Who. We're not going to see River Song again any time soon, though, are we?

"You look so young, younger than I've ever seen you" She says to DT. "Oh, well, obviously apart from when you were that teenager..."

KayHarker · 03/01/2009 20:06

It's not the younger than me thing, UQD (nice to see you btw, happy new year) It's the 'doesn't look old enough to legally drink in the US' thing.

KayHarker · 03/01/2009 20:08

oggsfrog, honestly, what are ye like. I'm sure it's all been linked before, but Go here and scroll down for stories marked R for rude bits.

I haven't updated recently, but I probably will now, before one of my main muses disappears into the realms of history.

cissycharlton · 03/01/2009 20:16

Ds1(7) none too happy. Says he'll be cheering for the Daleks from now on.

oggsfrog · 03/01/2009 20:19

Thanks . It's not just the rude bits I'm interested in I'll have you know.

I'm finding it difficult to get my head around it because I can only picture him in 'Ruby in...' and 'Shadow in...' and I'm sure he must have looked different on the Confidential tonight.
He just doesn't feel right.
I'm sure he will take DW down a completely different path and we'll just have to wait and see I suppose.

Frizbe · 03/01/2009 20:27

I think he'll do a good job of the role, lets face it the writing is going to get a whole lot better with RTD out of the way, so he's got a head start.

FairLadyRantALot · 03/01/2009 20:33

oggs...you know who he reminded me off on tonights confidential....of that guy playing Albert in little house in the prairie....no idea why, really, lol

FairLadyRantALot · 03/01/2009 20:36

like here

VanessaParody · 03/01/2009 20:44

I confess to being disappointed not to get eye candy.

DD1 is 7yo and shares my opinion.

KayHarkerVsEmoTeenDoc · 03/01/2009 21:03

I am allowing myself an evening of over-reaction, and then I'll get over it

And, on the bright side, it's not Jimmy bleedin' Nesbitt, and I now don't fancy the Doctor, which is as it should be.

EachPeachPearMum · 03/01/2009 21:28

I think he looks like Frankensteins monster- the shape of his head is just odd, poor chap.

Rusty I fancied Peter Davison... and I am quite a bit younger than you...um was 7 when Tom Baker regenerated ....

serenity · 03/01/2009 21:28

Kay - I friended (is that even a word?) you on LJ a while ago, but you haven't been on for yonks Friend me back? My username starts with 'Simi'. No DW slash on mine, just one SPN one.

I don't fancy Matt Smith, which is good as he's 11 years younger than me but I have a horrid feeling I could do, if he's a good Doctor (I have a weakness for quirky emos) That would make me feel like a very dirty old woman, and that's not always a good thing....

KayHarkerVsEmoTeenDoc · 03/01/2009 21:38

serenity, no, haven't been on LJ for a looong time. Had a bit of time trying to be someone else, and failing miserably, so I've given up on that nonsense and embraced the sad writing geek that is truly me

serenity · 03/01/2009 21:49

I tried that when I had DS1, spent about 8 years trying to be a 'proper Mum', in proper clothes and all. I was crap and miserable, so gave up in the end and embraced my inner emo/geek/sad old perve. It's the right thing to do

welcome back to the darkside.....

KayHarkerVsEmoTeenDoc · 03/01/2009 22:05

Just friended you properly back, I think...

serenity · 03/01/2009 22:10

Yes, found me

RustyBear · 03/01/2009 22:41

Actually I think I may have seen Matt Smith. Apparently he was in the stage tour of The History Boys, which I saw at Warwick the day we dropped DS off for his first day at university.

I can't find the programme, so I can't be sure he was in it at that time, but they were all very good.

LaundryFairy · 04/01/2009 19:22

I think that Matt Smith can scrub up pretty well like here. But I'm willing to bet they are going to try to stay away from the 'Doctor as Hearthrob' for awhile as it would be too hard to compete with David Tennant.

KayHarkerDoesNotSimper · 04/01/2009 19:34

Laundryfairy, I think that's an amusing conclusion as I've yet to speak to a teenaged girl about it who isn't thinking he's rather pleasing to the eye. I might think they're... rather brave in their choice of lust-icon. But they don't think he's a pug at all.

He does have nice skin. I can't even begin to think of him in those terms, though.

LaundryFairy · 04/01/2009 19:56

I know what you mean about teenage girl appeal. The first thing that DH and I said when we saw him was 'indie-boy'. Just not so good for thee mums I'm afraid....

RustyBear · 04/01/2009 20:12

Well, here's your first teenaged girl who doesn't think he's pleasing to the eye - DD (19) thinks he's 'like Frankenstein, and not in a good way'

She's not prejudging him as the Doctor, though; she has no preconception of the Doctor as eye-candy, having been watching classic DW on video since she was 5, so she was brought up on Hartnell & Troughton. DT's sexiness was just an added bonus for her...

KayHarkerDoesNotSimper · 04/01/2009 20:25

Good for her, me says. But I still doubt the days of pin-up Doc are over.

KayHarkerNeedsToSleep · 17/01/2009 22:57

Just watched the Kylie Christmas special again. Good gracious, it is stuffed full of sugar, isn't it? Felt like it should have had instructions pop up at certain points saying 'Cry now'... 'Emotional moment'...

Quite apart from what an utter tart Ten is. "Oh no, Mr Copper, I travel alone... because you're not a flirty young miss I can impress with my tux and snogging skills."

RTD, love you to bits, but blimey, you did much better this year.
