Oh, I remember him from when DH & I were members of the DWAS - there was great excitement in the newsletters when he got the script accepted.

PersephoneSnape · 20/11/2008 13:23

smilies are fabulous!

anyone see Bains from FoBlood in the devils whore last night - and Mr Simm of course

Katisha · 20/11/2008 14:56

I have it on pretty dicey authority (bloke on the market) that Sean Pertwee will be next in the Tardis...

Fubsy · 20/11/2008 20:44

That was just Baines in a wig, wasnt it! Harry Lloyd obviously has two characters he plays, as he was completely different as Will Scarlett in Robin Hood.

Raalix · 23/11/2008 09:10

Sci-Fi Fan:

Moffat does have two potential established companions to make use of. He created River Song (Alex Kingston) in the Library episodes who is clearly a future companion of the Doctor. Also, Sally Sparrow from Blink would make a fantastic companion as she seemed to understand the complexities of the wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff.

I fully expect RTD and SM to work together during the 2009 specials so that the new series kicks off to a flying start.

Of course, there's always David Morrissey who seems to be very Doctor-like in this year's Christmas special.

RustyBear · 23/11/2008 16:48

Today is the Doctor's 45th birthday!

23rd November 1963!

Happy Birthday Doctor!

SciFiFan · 23/11/2008 17:23

Hey Raalix - it would be nice to see some kind of resolution re the River Song thread before he regenerates as she obviously knows him as the 10th Doctor.

I agree that Sally Sparrow would be a good companion for SM's first season...we'll just have to wait and see..I'm sure he'll do good.

RustyBear · 23/11/2008 17:30

Got the Season 4 box set today, so I cn celebrate the doctor's birthday in style!

The other thing that hasn't been resolved is Queen Elizabeth recognising him in The Shakespeare Code - River Song might have recognised him telepathically if they had ben married/closely connected, and the 'looking younger' comment might refer to a different regeneration, but surely QE couldn't recognise him unless she had met Ten? (Unless she's actually another lost Time Lord.....)

nymphadora · 23/11/2008 17:35

Not sure about River song as a companion but certainly to pop up every so often

serenity · 24/11/2008 19:53

Rusty - Ten could have met her in an adventure between the televised episodes, it might be something they resolve with the audio ones.

We're watching S3 on BBC3 atm, and I'm feeling all sad and nostalgic already

RustyBear · 24/11/2008 21:14

Oh, I know it could have been what DH calls a 'parsley' adventure (after Sherlock Holmes' reference to 'the depth the parsley had sunk into the butter' in 'a story for which the world is not yet prepared')

I'd just have liked to have seen it....

Only 31 days to the Christmas special though!

UnquietDad · 25/11/2008 10:34

Rusty - Giant Rat of Sumatra!

RustyBear · 25/11/2008 11:04

Hmmm- could Magnus Greel have been doing some experiments in Sumatra before he came to London?

ICanHazANewDoctah · 02/12/2008 12:33

ICanHazANewDoctah · 02/12/2008 12:40

Nah, 'tis PJ. Methinks. But they will keep it all under wraps until after Christmas Day, because RTD is being all subterfuge-y about David Morrisey.

Fubsy · 03/12/2008 20:15

ICan, are you referring to the fob watch that David Morrisey is holding in the latest Radio times pics?

ICanHazANewDoctah · 03/12/2008 22:45

Yeah, plus a lot of other little misdirection in the text. I weren't born yesterday, Rusty, m'boy.

Still, I have everything crossed for it being PJ. I don't actually fancy him at the moment, so it's all good...

PersephoneSnape · 17/12/2008 16:53

xmas special countdown ladies?

plus theres a rumour that dioctor 11 will be named tomorrow (the sun says it's not Bob Carlisle, but that the BBC will let itout tomroow!! squeeeeeeeeeee ee ee e!)

I like the idea that DM is william Hartnell in xmas special, but think it more likely he has been addled by cybermen for a training programme, as he has DT mannerisms etc.

JackieNoCribForABed · 17/12/2008 19:17

DS (almost 5) and I were in the supermarket the other day, and he patted something and said 'What's this? Is it an Ood head?'. It was a large gammon joint, wrapped in plastic. .

KayHarkerTheHeraldAngelsSing · 18/12/2008 10:25

I love some of the theories about the Xmas special. My favourite is DM being the Doctor that would have been if DT had regenerated properly instead of creating 10.2.

Not long now...

TooFoggy · 18/12/2008 13:15

who is PJ?

JackieNoCribForABed · 18/12/2008 13:17

Patterson (Paterson?) Joseph, I think.

KayHarkerTheHeraldAngelsSing · 18/12/2008 13:39

Yep, Paterson Joseph. Who, depressingly enough, I do fancy now. [ffickle]

TooFoggy · 18/12/2008 19:18
