purpleme12 · 30/09/2026 20:43

Ooh this is very nice!

purpleme12 · 30/09/2026 20:43

Well this is definitely the best one they've seen!

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/09/2026 20:44

They usually save the best for last

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 30/09/2026 20:46

So they want offers over ยฃ600k but would accept 550

All I can think with these big gardens is how I could fit a gigantic trampoline in them for my daughter

loobylou10 · 30/09/2026 20:57

These 2 will never buy anywhere. Theyโ€™re exhausting

Yes, I get the feeling theyโ€™ll never find anywhere- that barn was lovely. Personally I wouldnโ€™t want to be too isolated and that last garden would take a lot of maintenance and time (or money).

The semi was quite nice but I preferred the other house. They just wanted the wow factor with all the whistles and bells which theyโ€™ve paid top dollar for.

HoldMyWine · 30/09/2026 22:21

ยฃ775k for a semi! Wow

Sheeshbee · 30/09/2026 22:22

Yeah 777k for a semi is South East prices, feels stupid for just being vaguely near Chester.

It was also ugly at the front, and does my head in that the summer house was just in the middle of the garden, blocking the view of half of it from the house. Put it at the end surely?

The other couple just seem nuts, and I bet discover they donโ€™t even like living the sticks if they do ever move.

Banjas · 01/10/2026 08:33

purpleme12 · 30/09/2026 20:21

I wonder how much they're paying each month for their current rental

I wondered that too.
It looks like a lovely house.
Why the obsession with not being overlooked ?
I wouldnโ€™t like to be overlooked either but in the garden in the house very near them they could add a tree or two that would solve the issue.
The other couple were spoiled for choice yet still didnโ€™t buy ๐Ÿ™„

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/09/2026 20:28

Tho I hate guide prices

just name your figure

Where I live guide prices are a work of fiction. It was always thus since I first was interested in houses.
They want at least 20% more.
If I ruled the world I would make a law that guide prices are exactly true.

Peter & Kirsty didnโ€™t offer on one property because only half of it was insulated!? Their world will explode when they find out about buildersโ€ฆโ€ฆI am confident their search will continue for many more years.

Ruth and Ryan offered ยฃ725k on the pretty detached, which was rejected and instead paid ยฃ777โ€™500 for the semi with the ugly dormer roof extension. I would have blown the other offers on the detached out of the water and gone all out rather than bought the expensive semi. I thought Ruth went along with what Ryan said far too easily.

Yep ! So Kirsty said @Wowthatwasabigstep
I was ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
They were shown fantastic properties yet nothing was up to scratch.
Iโ€™m sure Kirsty Alsopp, Phil and all thise background staff involved in procuring the houses despaired.
I wonder have they found their perfect home ?

This is why best and final offers is awful, and a proper auction style process is 1000% better; people underbid, in case they're actually over-bidding by 20k. And there was a story last year about someone in a 'best and final offers' and won, but then due to an admin mistake by the estate agent was sent the full list of final offers, and say they'd won the bidding by 100k!

Undoubtedly the buyer prepared to pay the most would've got their house, and the vendor would've got at least 20 or 30k more if they did this more fairly.
