Last nights DPD case update was very good

I am hooked on this programme.

Well it had me confused at the start, it felt like watching an identical episode shown some time ago, this was a follow up to the previous episode about the hunt for the remaining attackers.

I think this should have been pointed out at the start. Possibly it was and we missed it.

Can anyone share which ep to start with as I am thinking of starting this ? I mean which they like the most . Thanks

Me too, I had a feeling I had seen bits of it before and it was called episode 4…I actually stopped watching and was looking for the first one!

I remember Aurman’s case from last season, absolutely harrowing. I’m so glad more men have been brought to justice. The Austrian police certainly don’t fuck around do they!

Also hooked on this. DPD episodes were harrowing. I was confused by them saying in the new episode that it was a case of “mistaken identity”, we don’t remember that being said in previous episodes. DH and I didn’t bother with season 1. Went straight in with season 2 in the West Mids. DJ Damo was my sisters wedding DJ and DH hung around with Robert Orrey as a teenager 🫤

It confused me for a moment but then I realised it was number four, the other three were the previous ones shown last series.

Anyone watching now? I'm wondering if it was actually the daughter and he's covering for her?

Unlikely, probably he’s a bog standard perpetrator, controlling and violent, killed her because she wants to leave him I’d guess.

I don’t think so, his hands were covered in blood.

Its heartbreaking those poor young kids, seeing the police carry out all the unopened presents was heartbreaking

Yes, just after I typed that, they gave us more information about what he said in the initial phone call.

I’m just watching the DPD part 4 now on iplayer. I watched the previous episodes and this case stayed with me.

Agree it’s a despicable sentence. Those poor kids.

I think it was kind of brushed over a bit. There had been a line of enquiry that someone at the kabaddi tournament wearing a dpd hat the day before had been involved in violence which provoked the murderers, but I don’t think it was ever established it was Aurman. Not that it would ever have been any excuse anyway. Poor man, it was utterly horrific what they did to him

I can’t begin to imagine what sort of Not Guilty defence he was planning to present. Poor, poor children.

15 years is a disgrace. The justice system completely failed her and her family.

I think that he was going to present guilty to manslaughter but not guilty to murder. I don’t think he was ever going to pretend he hadn’t murdered her but I did briefly wonder whether he was covering for the step daughter. Despicable man. Leaving two childen effectively orphaned at such a young age.

As for the DPD murder - this too has stayed with me. The other poor DPD driver - what trauma must he suffer. Looks like the other 2 have scarpered to India but they will never be able to return to UK. But I bet that the police haven’t quite stopped looking for them.

this is an excellent / if harrowing - programme.

All the of the series are available on iPlayer. This is series 3. They are all good, though harrowing. The DPD murder is shown on Series 2.

The fact that these foreign criminals think they can kidnap and lynch someone on the street over some petty dispute is bone chilling.

Just as chilling as men who murder their partners/wives because they plan to leave them.

I thought that was where they were going with it as it seemed so cut and dry. But it wasn't her, it was him, and that sentence was appalling. Those poor children left without their mum. The policeman who had to leave when they found the wrapped presents 😢

I found the murder of Cheryl McKenna last night quite harrowing. From how calm he was during the call with the faux apology to how he reacted very differently when spoken to by a female Cop. There were so many missed opportunities too. If she had sought help previously when he had clearly been violent, if her DD had said that he was saying Cheryl should be dead. It was all very tragic. I can’t imagine what living with such a violent, misogynistic man must have been like.

Well quite. There’s been what 4 cases covered in these 4 episodes, and 2 are violent men murdering partners or ex partners.
