Sorry behind catwalk but has anyone seen Molly's new show on you tibe?.It really is quite sure and has all the makings of a career in freefall (she even had to get her husband to produce it). Was it always going to be this way after the Schofiled scandal or is she like Tess Daly simply not to enter enough to make a career on her own?

JAN MOIR: Holly's new show is so banal it makes Meghan's look good

Caring, sharing Holly Willoughby blessed us with a return to the broadcast world this week, floating back down the airwaves like a blonde cherub on a candy-floss cloud of crud.

She's proved herself to be fake, disloyal and self-serving. Her girl next door image has taken a nose-dive and a lot of people see through her fakeness now.

This YouTube attempt comes across as desperate. She would be better off staying out of the limelight but she appears to be searching for anything to stay in the limelight. Wouldn't be surprised if she does some kind of reality tv in a few years time.

That’s still blaming a woman for a man’s crimes

Not from my POV. I dislike her because of her attitude and my experience.

WaneyEdge · 29/07/2026 08:31

Meh. I never thought she was all that and always assumed she only got work because her husband is a producer. Same with most of them; Zoe Ball - famous dad, Claudia Winkleman - famous mum, Roman Kemp - famous dad, Lily Allen - famous/influential parents, Christine Lampard - married a famous footballer, Barney Walsh - famous dad. Very few now who present TV/radio shows or get record deals that haven’t somehow got where they are due to a leg-up from their connections.

Catwalk should be paywall
Molly should be Holly
Tibe should be tube
Sure should be bad
Schofiled should be Schofield
To enter should be ???

Come on, cast a cursory glance before expecting everyone to make sense of your OP.

Thanks for the translation

It was like walking over cobble stones in high heels trying to read the first post 😬

I think despite being on telly for decades she doesnt have a usp. I couldn't tell you what she cares about, or "remember the time she said/did x" (beyond the whole scandal side)

Whereas with others like Davina or Alison I could answer those things.

Bit unfair to lump Christine Lampard in there - she met her husband because she was already a successful TV presenter with an established career, so she was hardly given a leg up by him!

Is it just me or are Holly Willoughby, Tess Daly and Ferne Cotton interchangeable clones of the same woman?

Handeyethingyowl · 29/07/2026 08:41

I am not even sure why I clicked on this but I got half way down page one before I realised Molly meant Holly so have given up.

She is very beautiful and bland, that was her selling point for a tv career. That and her powerful industry husband of course. She is now a middle aged beautiful woman and the tv industry has younger replacements in place, in ITV’s case they seem obsessed with the Olivia Atwoods and GK Barrys. She is very similar to Anthea Turner, mentioned up thread. She has lost her place as a tv staple, she is now moved down the pecking order. TV is misogynistic still and her time at the top has gone. If they want older women of a similar age they turn to Lampard and Deeley.

I have to agree with this tbh.

She is very pretty and quite bland which worked for daytime tv. The relationship between her and schofield was the part which was meant to be charming, rather than their individual personalities. So when that came crashing down it was over really. The "deep breath....first of all...are you ok?" speech was not a good move. Whoever got her to do that was not wise.

I also agree that tv is a quite misogynistic industry. So they will look for younger pretty-and-bland people to fill the gap.

Christine Lampard started presenting the one show, a primetime BBC1 show, nearly 10 yrs before she got married.

That’s fair enough to dislike her for your personal experience which the rest of us don’t have.

But you have criticised her for Schofield’s crimes and criticised her lack of humility not something men ever get called out for. They get complimented for being ‘confident’ and ‘assertive’

Ok to summarise. Molly's career is over. Having a you tube channel which is being universally panned is not great. Can you recover?

Molly? Are you rage baiting now

2021x · 29/07/2026 08:44

As others have said she isn’t really that interesting like Alison Hammond -like her or loathe her.

She wasn’t responsible for the behaviour of her co-stars and I don’t know what people actually wanted her to do. She has no actual power.

WaneyEdge · 29/07/2026 08:44

Didn’t know that about CL, I stopped watching the One Show when they sacked Jason Manford. Fair play to her then.

Because they are blonde? Fearne, aside from her long career as a DJ has (among other things) a podcast and written books about depression that have helped many. Hardly identical careers.

It's just you

fundamentallyauthentic · 29/07/2026 08:50

She quit This Morning, didn’t she? Her biggest gig. It’s not like ITV dropped her.

You think there was a choice?? No way could she stay in that job, she had to go.

I honestly think that moment sealed the deal on her telly fate. My elderly aunt, who lived for Phil and Holly, was quite affronted by it!

I was going to say this, she was already a successful TV presenter before she married a footballer.

SinicalMe · 29/07/2026 08:58

Whereas Amanda Holden is still doing very well and is still getting a lot of gigs. YouI may not like her but bland she isn’t.

Yes she too has an influential tv husband but Amanda comes across as a nice person. People seem to like working with her, her programme with Alan Carr is great.

And whilst being quite showy she can take the mickey out of herself and doesn’t come across as smug. I’ve never watched anything with HW.

OvernightBloats · 29/07/2026 08:59

She knew about Philip Schofield's indiscretions and was happy to go along with it until.... the scandal was exposed and she saw the outrage this caused. She dropped him like a lead balloon to protect herself and her image. However she did not foresee how hypocritical and disloyal this would appear to the general public. So fake.

Nitgel · 29/07/2026 09:02

She will probably write a parenting book or go on loose women

Culpeper · 29/07/2026 09:07

I think she was good on Thor Morning but Phillip Schofield propped her up. She was completely rubbish when she attempted to continue without him.

Sadly for her, there is no mainstream TV vehicle for her. Her popularity has entirely waned and I’d be amazed if this YouTube thing is a success.

Pplareasthickasshit · 29/07/2026 09:08

I don't understand why people who are wealthy and have no need to earn money don't move in to a more meaningful role when they get to a natural break in their career. She could devote her life to working in a dog rescue centre or a charity shop or running a cafe in a hospice or working in a food bank or marshaling at charity runs. Something, anything that isn't trying to keep your mug in the limelight. Penny Lancaster has my respect for getting out there as a special police officer.
