Welcome to the EastEnders spoilers thread, where we post and talk about any EE spoilers we've read about, including those in early release episodes on iPlayer.

Link below to watch episodes on BBC iPlayer - these are usually dropped at 6am on broadcast days - and you can read brief synopses of upcoming episodes:

Chelsea's change of perspective is implausible but it's to facilitate the story of Ian getting out of prison asap.

Exactly, change of heart but she’s partly taking the blame now.

Would this happen in real life? No. Not with anyone I know.

Ian was still over the limit though. He knows this.
You would still want him punished somehow if it was your child even if you did tell him to ‘ run along’
She thought he’d be safe. I’m not condoning her actions , but this isn’t all her fault entirely either.

Yes but in his mind it was “only 1 pint”. I’ve said before though here that his car should have sensors to be able to see a child so either EE are missing that out or something else.

Southeastdweller · 27/07/2026 13:02

The story just doesn't work, does it? I can only think Adam Woodyatt wanted a story and this was the best they could come up with, adding in a trait of Ben Wadey's role as the EE boss - bringing back old characters. Two birds with one stone kind of thing.

I’m 5 mins in and not reading today’s comments before I finish lol I reckon Joel remembers, but Ross just fricking shouting at him is making me want to throw my TV out the window. I really dislike him as an actor, all he does is moan and shout whilst pulling stupid faces. Joel probably already has a headache, doesn’t need raised voices 😅🤣

Ian gets 8 months prison sentence, but he’s out by NYD flash forward. How does that work? Maths not working out here.

Well my TikTok timeline just spoilt it for me anyway, so I’m reading the comments 🤣

Ian pled guilty, so gets a lesser charge, plus for good behaviour, the law and release timescales have recently changed and they only serve 30% of sentences so he will be out Oct/Nov. Chelsea adding that she shouted at her child like most mothers do wouldn’t change the sentence in the real world.

the80sweregreat · 27/07/2026 13:28

He was probably over the limit because he wouldn’t eat the prawns ! Who could blame him though.
He couldn’t hear the sensors properly because of his mum and the car hit the bin as well as Jordan.
Anyway, he’ll be carted off to the only prison they have I suppose to do his porridge. They may put him in the kitchen as his a trained chef ( like on Paddington 2)

Shellingbynight · 27/07/2026 14:17

It really doesn't work at all does it. If the producer wanted to do this type of storyline, pick someone not in the flashforward, then we can buy into it.

I just read the sentencing guidelines and if your sentence is under 2 years you only serve 40%, so say he did just under 4 months, he'd be out in December. But on NYD he looks pleased as punch, he does not look like a man who got out of jail a few weeks ago.

As South said it's presumably so he can meet Gray and their storylines collide, because as we know from Shaz meeting Chrissie there is only one jail in the entire country.

the80sweregreat · 27/07/2026 14:20

Yep , Ian will run into Gray, Sheila and probably a visit from half the square at this rate.
We know he is out by new years time due to the fast forwards. Unless the actor needed some time off for a few months and this is the way to do it.

Thanks for the new thread. Poor Chelsea.

More holes than a big slab of Swiss cheese.

Why would Ian be housed in the same wing of the same prison as a serial murderer?

Would the authorities allow Joel to live in the same house as the woman he left for dead?

Shouldn't someone ask Sharon if she minds?

He technically could . Men that have a life sentence if deemed not at risk or a risk to other prisoners are housed in a normal wing so there is often a mix of all types of sentences .
There will be a wing for those on remand but yet to be sentenced .A Rule 43 wing ( vulnerable prisoners ) which means those likely to be bullied / those deemed at risk / paedophiles etc .
A segregation wing ( those badly behaved )
Some prisons have workers wings / education etc .

Any bets on a name for Janine’s son? Little Micky, perhaps? EEWiki says he lives in Germany with Ricky and Scarlett.

Surely he'll be called Frankie.

storminabuttercup · 28/07/2026 07:15

Hello all! We put EE on hold while the World Cup was on (husband watching with son who was interested for first time) so I’ve only just caught up.

I feel like a lot happened but it was all a bit meh

glad Bea went but found it all a bit irritating how long it dragged on. Was glad Nicola got involved as you knew she’d get honey to listen

my biggest WTF’s around the Joel thing, the good kids getting revenge I can just about buy into, Barney and the hammer not so much, then Vicki crying at his bedside I really didn’t get? But then I was half watching. Nicola will see straight through Barney and Harry covering up and I reality they need her to take charge anyway. Although she’s got a lot on, was glad she took George to task.

Ian will be out by October on good behaviour in time for whatever terrible thing happens that max saves the kids from (grey I assume)

Totally agree here about Vicki falling apart and crying by Joel's hospital bed! I mean wtaf was that all about then? As if she would feel guilty or responsible about what happened to him, like its her fault 🙄

the80sweregreat · 28/07/2026 07:24

So , Harry puts the hammer with the other tools in the arches and nobody will investigate this attack anymore ? I can’t believe it’s that easy! Unless Barney can’t live with himself and confesses once Joel is out of hospital.

I’m hoping Harry is bright enough to have wiped it clean, covered it in oil or something?

they are rubbish at hiding weapons in eastenders

the80sweregreat · 28/07/2026 07:35

I hope he wiped the hammer down too!
I suppose there will be a hammer story now where Kojo needs to use one and Ross happens to see it being used and turns into a detective to track down Joel’s attacker or something like that. Of course nobody will believe him. I can’t see it staying where it is.

the80sweregreat · 28/07/2026 07:40

Sharon and Albie will welcome Joel with open arms eh ? I don’t think so. They will have to find somewhere else to live.

Southeastdweller · 28/07/2026 07:43

I’m more intrigued about the video that the teens took of Joel which Jack now knows about (in today’s episode).

And yes, Ian has ended up in the same prison as Gray.

Shellingbynight · 28/07/2026 08:08

I did a lot of fast forwarding yesterday. I'm very disappointed with what Wadey has done to Chelsea, ridiculous storyline which is dragging her and everyonelse down. We really did not need to see Gray again.

I'm sure Joel knows who did it, he's keeping quiet because he thinks he 'deserves it'. It won't be Barney.

the80sweregreat · 28/07/2026 08:14

Oh no! Ian in with Gray. What’s the chances ? Only on EE would that happen!

cramptramp · 28/07/2026 08:37

I’m really surprised Ian hasn’t been in prison before now.

the80sweregreat · 28/07/2026 08:56

Not sure if Ian has been in prison before.
