The prison thing is mental but inevitable on EE. Just like when anyone ends up in hospital not only do they get a private room they get the exact same private room their neighbour had the month before

A lot of weird pub-related behaviour on Albert Square!

Alcoholic Linda continued to run a pub fresh out of rehab.

Alcoholic Phil (who nearly died from his addiction) and Alcoholic Lauren regularly pop into the pub in the middle of the day for an orange juice.

Cindy and E-Laine run the Albert but drink in the Vic

Drinking at lunchtime on a working weekday is still going as strong as it was in the 1970s in 2026

The appeal would be thrown out surely ? Chelsea told him
to run along inside a safe wedding venue. She didn’t know he’d run off outside. The defence that Ian didn’t see Jordan behind the bins may hold some water? Maybe they would reduce the sentence ? I’ve no real idea though. Looks like his going to help Gray now , the nice serial killer who murdered two women and a man in cold blood and now wondering why he hasn’t seen his children in years. 🙄

I dont get this nonsense surrounding joel

Surely the parents would just leave it at that, given what hes done 🙄

I keep saying on here ( work in a nick ) that it is entirely feasable that he would be .
Murderers unless they could be a real threat to the ' normal sentenced ' men would be intergrated into a wing .
Having said that it would be unusual that the perpetrator of a crime would be put in the exact same wing as the father of his victim .

Joel hasn’t changed has he. He knows he can tell the police it was Avani and they will believe him. No real evidence, but it’s still a threat isn’t it.

I’ve just realised both of Kathy’s sons are in prison😂 Wasn’t Ben moved to a London prison from the US? I thought his sentence was reduced too but there’s been no mention of him, Kathy and Phil don’t appear to ever visit him?? It would make slightly more sense if he was in the same prison as Ian rather than Gray!

Yes, they really don’t stick to the real life rules. As if you’d be out in with the father who is doing time for murder.

I think it was a prison up North in Manchester or somewhere like that 🤔

Chelsea and Ian. Shouting at your kid does not mean Ian gets let off reversing into him while over the limit. Gray ‘protecting Ian’ was so predictable a 6 year old could have written it.

George/Nicola and Suki/Eve. Suki was looking at Eve like she was an evil genius but Eve had no proof and Nicola would have told her to take a hike.

Joel and the teens. Avani may not have hit him but she did enthusiastically support him being handcuffed and humiliated, so I don’t feel particularly sorry for her. None of them can take the moral high ground now, it is their own fault they are stuck with him.

Following on from this… Nicola is currently living there with George and Ivy - potentially Barney too if I remember correctly. So the Hawkin’s family arriving is likely to be her sister - assuming from the call she made to her today.

I’ve mostly enjoyed this week’s episodes. I find Laura Doddington (Nicola)such a watchable actress.

But when Joel blackmailed Avani in today’s episode I was like “oh no” because he’s bound to be found out and that’s probably going to mean he leaves. I agree with @Shellingbynight that none of the teens can take the moral high ground now. Often - like today - I get distracted when Avani is on screen because the actress does look her age (26) and some of the teen actors, like Max Murray, look like teens because - what a surprise - they’re teenagers.

And that’s from the official EE Insta so I guess we’ll see an announcement in the next few days.

Agree @Southeastdweller Nicola is a great character she should be unlikable but she does complex well. I don't buy the Suki/Eve thing though.

I'm beyond bored of the Ian/Chelsea stuff I don't care where this story is going wish we could just fast forward to bit where Gray will predictably die in a very dramatic way.

Thank you! I know Chelsea had a particularly nasty shout at Jordan but what did she do wrong or to compensate for Ian? We all (mostly all) lose it with our kids from time to time

I'm not sure it's true Joel hasn't changed, he's just using the current shitshow to his advantage. He did say he was desperate, he has nowhere else to go. And Avani was part of the group who tied him up so it isn't like she's done nothing.

(Of course back in real life Ross would rent a house for him and Joel somewher else, but on EE nobody moves out of the Square even if if they've assaulted the person they are living with.)

But if Joel is threatening to dob in Avani, it means he's letting the person who did it get away with it. Which is starting to point to someone like Lily.
