CORONATION STREET THREAD. We're still in a heatwave, and it's going to be stuffy in that prison for Sarah! Nearly August 2026 already! **No spoilers please.**

Shiny new thread. Smile

So, Sarah's been arrested for killing Theo, Kit is trying to get her out of prison without implicating himself, (and is desperate to pin it on Gary,) and Gary and Maria are at loggerheads after Gary decided to help Sarah cover her tracks!

Swain is as useless as ever, constantly talking very loudly about any case she's working on, and in front of as many people as possible!

Betsy has had a stroke, after engaging in non-fatal strangulation during sex with Dylan, and Dylan's in trouble for it, even though Betsy doesn't blame him. Sean (his dad) is trying to blame anyone but him, even Brodie!

Most other storylines/characters seem to be fairly quiet at the moment, but I'm sure they will touch on them again soon...

@Empress13 i think Jodie going to the station is true. Like I said to Sabre above, apparently Sarah got told that she confessed to the attack when Bethany visited Sarah in prison

Hmmm, but didn't Bethany tell Sarah this, (that Jodie had told the police she had attacked Sarah,) based on Jodie coming into the Platt's house, and telling David and Shona that she had confessed to the police that she attacked Sarah? (Bethany was there too...) Bethany glared at Jodie on the way out of the house on her way to visit Sarah.

Or did someone else tell Sarah that Jodie had been to the police? I may have missed something, and I may be wrong, but I just thought Sarah knew about Jodie attacking her from Bethany - and she had got it from Jodie herself, (who I think is lying.)

As I said, I may be wrong. Smile

How would jodie have finished him off? No one said he was shot- that would have ruled Sarah out.

She could have hit him again or smothered him 🤷🏻‍♀️

MaePedwarGolau · Yesterday 21:37

I can't believe how little David and Shona reacted to Jodie pointing the gun at them. I know it was fake, but they didn't know that. They reacted like it was a water pistol. Have they all forgotten about Shona getting shot in the past? You'd think there'd be some trauma from that.

JewelleryCat · Yesterday 21:38

@SabreIsMyFave Bethany did mention it and then I think Sarah replied “yeah someone told me that she did” (my words not whatever Sarah said) and I presumed someone at the prison told her

the80sweregreat · Yesterday 21:39

It’s getting so silly now isn’t it. A fake gun, a real one hidden on top of a cupboard and Jodie being a total pain. She really needs to be written out soon, I roll my eyes when she turns up!

Yeah, I am starting to wonder what the point of Jodie is. She is hugely unlikeable, and pointless. IMO. Dreadful character, not great storylines, and just seems to be a pointless menace.

Why is Alya working in speed Dahl when she has an office.

Who on earth watches a woman he thinks is insane walk downstairs with a gun and instead of taking it from her, procedes to berate her while she continues to hold the weapon? And while I'm here, when I had infants my house, which was less compact than theirs, was littered with baby equipment, The only mess chez Platt was created by them fossicking around for a gun. Harper meanwhile has been stashed away neatly upstairs and will give no further trouble until she's old enough to cause " drama."

Or why wasn’t she more discrete in the first place when she was phoning her and perhaps met woman first

So what happened to the actual woman that Cassie was talking to on the phone? If Cassie had arranged a time and place for her to appear, and to shame Ross - where was she when Ross' stooge turned up?

Why is Alya working in speed Dahl when she has an office.

Perhaps she is sick of Adam

They live together, they not only work together but he is tutoring her for her exams.

It may be the only chance she gets to be free of him.

Tyrone's dismay at his dad's intention to go back to Warrington was hilarious - it appears to be only 16 miles or so!

MrsPapillon · Today 09:07

Why would Jodie have hidden the box in the living room? Surely it would be found if someone moved the sofa or coffee table to run the hoover over? You’d hide it somewhere less communal, surely.

Why have the Platts been able to bring baby Harper home and yet have zero baby equipment on view? My house looked like a bomb had gone off in Mothercare when I brought mine home. Maybe it’s all in the massive Corrie cupboard where they store the children.

the80sweregreat · Today 09:13

Waving the fake gun around was too much yesterday.
Then she casually finds the real one.
Her character is badly written , at least with Ross it’s ‘ he is a baddie ‘ , with Jodie you’ve no idea what she’s up to and we don’t know for sure what’s going on. Even David mentioned her on the Corrie dale episode and she didn’t give them any kind of answer as to why she was tied up that time. She is very vague.

Why didn’t they search Jodie’s room and if Lilly had had any sense she would have told David first not sneaky Jodie

agree about the baby stuff like toys, baby gymn, steriliser, baby alarm and lack of baby herself, she wouldn’t be shoved upstairs

I suppose Jodie's vagueness is the scriptwriters' attempts to keep us guessing, on tenterhooks, whatever but she's just irritating.

For Harper to have been in hospital for so long I'm not really surprised, as well as having no baby paraphernalia about, that there was not even a nod to her needing some kind of medical anything. That's it, she had her op and long stay off camera and now she's completely well?

Was Tracy luv the actress going on maternity leave?
Im still reeling from Deirdre being jailed.

Ha ha, that made me laugh 😄🤗

"Free George Jackson!" - none of today's 'big' storylines will still be in our brains in years to come.

I was thinking last night of all the BS surrounding Jodie and the gun and it got me back to thinking of the nationwide shock when Emily's husband was shot. Everything is so diluted nowadays.

They think it is mysterious but it is just tedious.

zanahoria · Today 11:55

Mysteries only work if they are followed by a reveal explaining how all the mysterious events are knitted together.

We all know that is not going to happen.

They left so many strands loose with the Becky plot.

the80sweregreat · Today 13:58

I signed a petition in a local shop to free Deirdre! My mum watched it , so I was aware of what had happened although I didn’t watch it myself then. I signed it and both the shop assistant and me had a smirk about it! It even went to parliament. Can you imagine anyone caring about Sarah as much ? Or Becky ! Lol

the80sweregreat · Today 14:00

You probably won’t see ‘ arper now for ages.
You saw more baby things around for Carla’s niece than you do for the new baby platt.

Harpers very advanced for her age...she is already upstairs listening to her tapes !!

Just watching classic Corrie and realise Idris is in it as another character - Rosie’s boyfriend just before she gets kidnapped by Stape. Aww he looks so young!

JewelleryCat · Today 20:39

Jodie is only related to Shona isn’t she so she isn’t Lily and Harry’s aunt. Maybe step auntie to Lily but Harry isn’t nephew
