CORONATION STREET THREAD. We're still in a heatwave, and it's going to be stuffy in that prison for Sarah! Nearly August 2026 already! **No spoilers please.**

Shiny new thread. Smile

So, Sarah's been arrested for killing Theo, Kit is trying to get her out of prison without implicating himself, (and is desperate to pin it on Gary,) and Gary and Maria are at loggerheads after Gary decided to help Sarah cover her tracks!

Swain is as useless as ever, constantly talking very loudly about any case she's working on, and in front of as many people as possible!

Betsy has had a stroke, after engaging in non-fatal strangulation during sex with Dylan, and Dylan's in trouble for it, even though Betsy doesn't blame him. Sean (his dad) is trying to blame anyone but him, even Brodie!

Most other storylines/characters seem to be fairly quiet at the moment, but I'm sure they will touch on them again soon...

Where’s Frankeh when she’s with Betsy

Poor little lad always looks on verge of tears. Really think Corrie should replace kids who obviously aren't happy. They took a while with Bertie. Dorin, on the other hand, has fitted in like a duck to water.

SabreIsMyFave · 06/08/2026 07:31

Also agree that it's awful how Lauren has been treated, she is not a paid or trained carer. Betsy getting upset - understandable, but Carla going off on one at her was ludicrous.

Also baffled at Bernie saying 'remember what you were like at her age' to Kit, about Sarah. I think they messed up with the writing there. Kit is 6 years younger than Sarah!

It's like when she was arrested, the custody officer said 'you young 'uns always want your photo taking again and again until you get a shot you like,' Now, I know Sarah is pretty, and looks younger than she is (she's 39 I think,) but why are they trying to push this agenda that she's about 19?! Do they think we've forgotten she was born in the 1980s, and has a 26 year old daughter? (And the custody officer was about 3 or 4 years younger than Sarah!) I can't imagine referring to someone as a young 'un if they were older than me! 😬

I did laugh when Sally was talking about having to be quiet and calm and not make any sudden movements around someone, to keep them calm, and Fiz said 'isn't that what they say when you meet a gorilla?!' 😆

I think Bernie was talking about Harry as Kit had been complaining he was hard work

Oh was he?! I must have misheard/misunderstood. I rewound it and played it 3 times and still thought Bernie was on about Sarah! I thought it was weird, when Bernie said 'remember what you were like at that age!' 😆

What the hell were the writers thinking when they came up with the Dorin storyline? Completely pointless. Unless they had a plan which they then thought better of (likewise the quads) and the rare sightings of these children must take all kinds of behind he scenes planning and rehearsals with toddlers and their real life parents etc etc etc 🫣🙄

Talk about making a rod for your own back 😀 serves them right!

I think Bernie said remember what you were like at his age - about Harry not Sarah

So Asha goes on one date and instantly Sienna's mum is her problem ?

Sienna is about ten years older than her and works for the NHS, she does not Asha directly involved.

I thought that. Mind you I did think Bernie would have no clue about what Kit was like at that age.

But a community with no children would be unusual.

Yes Asha needs to keep her beak out

I thought that was odd when Bernie said to Kit, “Remember what you were like at that age”. Is the fact that Kit was adopted as a tiny Baby been erased. The dialogue would have been better as “Well think back to what you like at that age what do think might have helped you”

zanahoria · 06/08/2026 11:01

So now Brody and Dylan are shouting in the street about choking followed on from rows in the pub and the cafe

No wonder all the kids at Joanie's school are talking about it

Melograno · 06/08/2026 11:26

Imho totally unrealistic that a young stroke pt would go home with no care, likely she would be in a Specialist Rehab Unit first
Also just sitting on a normal sofa 🙈
She would require a specialist chair , possibly a hoist or transfer aid
Utter nonsense , all of it
What on earth with all the screaming by Carla , feel Lauren set up there
What a shame for their friendship

zanahoria · 06/08/2026 11:30

Lisa has already chased Dylan out

Lauren had promised to stay with her and she didn't, Carla wouldn't have left her alone. Lauren did let her down.

JewelleryCat · 06/08/2026 11:37

I didn’t realise Betsy would need a specialist rehab unit before coming home and I didn’t think about hoists either or a special chair but thinking about it, she would need someone to help with mobility as well, not just a speech therapist

Thank you @Melograno

Betsy told her to get out
Lets face it tho
Lauren will always be wrong 😏

zanahoria · 06/08/2026 12:46

Lauren was voluntarily offering up her help

If Carla does not want it then it is her loss

eggandonion · 06/08/2026 13:16

It is strange that Betsy was discharged so quickly...is there nobody else in hospital? Betsy could have stayed.

But a community with no children would be unusual.

I've watched Corrie from the beginning and I think the only young person at the time was Lucille Hewitt and she was a teenager. Ken and Val got married and had the twins but they weren't on screen much. There's too many very young children on Corrie at the moment imo.

They do have a habit of bringing in random children that didn't need to exist don't they? Then they don't know what to do with them. Ridiculous!

As has been said, there has to be some/a few children, but there doesn't need to be loads. Why the fluff did Gemma and Chesney have to have QUADS?!

What happened to that baby that was dumped on Carla and Lisa - Carla's brother Rob's baby Connie, who he had with the prison guard he was dating... Batshit Jodie looked after her for 10 minutes once, as apparently she 'used to be a nanny.' Confused The baby's gran just dropped her off and legged it!

Where is that baby?

And Kit ffs learn to say Bethany’s name properly it’s Beth-any not Beff-nee.

JewelleryCat · 06/08/2026 14:15

Isn’t Connie back with her gran?

JohnBullshit · 06/08/2026 14:17

Ah well, at least they're not ageist about the random vanishing character introductions. I expect Sienna's poor mum will disappear into the shadows after a week or two, having served her purpose of putting the wind up Debbie and family.
