So, Sarah's been arrested for killing Theo, Kit is trying to get her out of prison without implicating himself, (and is desperate to pin it on Gary,) and Gary and Maria are at loggerheads after Gary decided to help Sarah cover her tracks!

Swain is as useless as ever, constantly talking very loudly about any case she's working on, and in front of as many people as possible!

Betsy has had a stroke, after engaging in non-fatal strangulation during sex with Dylan, and Dylan's in trouble for it, even though Betsy doesn't blame him. Sean (his dad) is trying to blame anyone but him, even Brodie!

Most other storylines/characters seem to be fairly quiet at the moment, but I'm sure they will touch on them again soon...

Checking in .. am fed up with the Theo murder story now . Hope Sarah goes down and someone can finally look after Harry properly as she never has ! Hope that Betsy has the usual Corrie very quick recovery from her stroke as I find it difficult to understand what she’s saying .. which I know is the point but not great viewing . Also don’t like the way they’ve tried to make out that every young person is engaged in this choking business - I know it’s to highlight an issue but I don’t think it is that common .

I had been thinking that him and Amy would be a nice couple...but then someone mentioned that Ryan had been with Tracy !

Then I remembered...Ryan had sort of grown up with Amy when Michelle was with Steve , so she must seem a sort of sister to him .

What's the age gap ? 10 years ?

Theo was horrible. He deserved to fall off a scaffolding. Sarah should have just left him.

I agree with others that this choking storyline seems to have missed the point. I thought one of the more worrying aspects of this practice is that young girls are being pressured into it (and other things like anal) because boys want to try what they’ve seen in porn - but girls aren’t truly consenting to this, it’s coercive. Plus I guess boys might be telling them everyone does it, and they’re not cool unless they go along with it - so thanks Corrie, you’ve helped massively with that. 🤨

And again I think the point is that those who DO watch Corrie would discuss it with younger folks who don't.

That said, I've watched corrie since i was 17... so theres probably some out there!

He didn’t fall though. Sarah picked something up and hit him with it, knocking him off the scaffold. His injury from the blow led to murder investigation.

I don't care if she bashed Theo. She should have just left him. Gary could have buried the scaffolding thing in the woods. Or sanded it down or something.

I agree that while Lauren wanted to help Betsy she shouldn't have got her out of the bed. Stroke patients will be lying on large pads for that reason (needing the toilet/no nurse around etc.) and attempting to lift or move someone as severely disabled as poor Betsy could have been disastrous.

I'm waiting for any sign at all of baby Harper coming home. Corrie is so disappointing with many issues and wildly warped storylines but like the rest of you I can't abandon it. 🙄🙂

I agree with that but I just said on the old thread that I'd be humiliated if I was Betsy. Needing to be taken to the toilet by nurse is one thing but a friend insisting on doing it when you are saying no is verging on abuse to me. No means no.

@TheignT - absolutely agree. Although coming from a good place, Lauren's actions could have caused more damage to Betsy. And as you say, the humiliation for Betsy would have been awful.

Yes poor Betsy as well as coping with her condition her mum and Lauren have made sure everyone knows the details of her sex life and now she can't even have some dignity with bodily functions.

Lauren is a right pain. How does she have time to hang around the hospital so much anyway? She has a young child and a job.

Annoying isn't it?! 😆 How, no matter how shit it gets, we just can't seem to stop watching it!

I mean, it's good sometimes to be fair, and one poster articulated it well some months back when they said it spends a few weeks/several months even, pretty average or below average and you're thinking 'FFS, I CBA with this any longer!' Then it starts to get good again, and hits the spot, and you start enjoying it again...

I said at some point last year (maybe last Springtime,) that I was getting sick of it with all the crime and borstal boys and bad lads etc etc, and that Mick and Lou coming in really pissed me off as they were vile, and I was close to bailing on it, but then it started to get good again! So I stayed. And here I am still. After nearly 50 years of watching, I can't let go! 😖😆

I agree with your comments about Lauren too. And I would also like to see baby Harper come home.

Why do they bring these babies in all the time, and then end up never (well - very rarely) showing them? I really don't know why they gave David and Shona a baby. Wasn't needed IMO. Unless, as someone said, the scriptwriters are going to have Jodie kidnapping her... Who knows?!
