For comedy purposes obviously. And Mr Smith being sinister. But I would have thought in reality she would have a conflict of interest and benefit debarred from the role.

This is what we said no way would his MIL get this job .

I don’t get how it doesn’t matter who loses a position at the police station. A receptionist, PCSO, detective and DI can’t possibly all be on the same wage.
Also, there would need to be a formal redundancy process so the wage saving wouldn’t crystallise for a while anyway.

It was better tonight , we had guessed about the reason the brother didn’t want the field dug up quite early on .

It was a nice happy ending for Kelby - but you do have to suspend disbelief. They've just spent weeks messaging each other from different countries, yet she couldn't send a quick text to say she was late because she was lost 🤔
