Where? I wonder if it will be as dated as me? I used to fancy Jack Davenport 😜

CookingFatCat · 13/03/2026 18:37

Oh yes to Jack Davenport! 🌶️

whiskyremorse · 13/03/2026 18:39

But what about Egg!

Used to? He’s still very fanciable even as a 50 something!

I got to to half way through season 2 on my dvd watch and got bored changing dvds! And not ever found the 20 years on episode on tv. So happy days!

I watched it last year (maybe Britbox) hasn’t aged well but oooooh the nostalgia

Pinkywoo · 13/03/2026 19:25

I loved This Life, Ferdy was the most beautiful man I'd ever seen! 😂

RedRiverShore6 · 13/03/2026 19:30

I liked Ferdy, he turned up in some series I watched on Netflix the other week, I shall watch it again

Triskellion75 · 13/03/2026 19:53

Shut UP! I literally just watched the final scene only yesterday!

bondipam · 13/03/2026 19:56

Going to see Steve John Shepherd in a play soon - he was fab init too

topcat2014 · 13/03/2026 21:20

My finance career was no way near as glamorous as I hoped it might have been...(I hated my law lectures..)

Thanks for posting this, I have just set it to record

Silverbirchleaf · 13/03/2026 21:24

It was my favourite program. Fancied Jack Davenport also.

RobinInTheCrabApple · 13/03/2026 21:29

I adored this show and my God how it summed up the mood of the times.

Tried to watch it again a year ago and couldn't bear it. They are so self absorbed and tie themselves up in knots about all manner of stuff that doesn't matter in the scheme of things. I guess I've aged and they haven't.

That said, surely worth watching again for the scene where Warren comes back to the party.

Nitgel · 13/03/2026 21:33

I hated it at the time. Thought they were self absorbed then. I couldn't relate to them at all. And the fact that a character was called egg used to irritate me.

MrsHaroldWilson · 13/03/2026 21:36

I've got them all on DVD - really love the nostalgia of it. My only criticism is that I found the 20 years after episode a bit of an anticlimax.

TheFormidableMrsC · 13/03/2026 21:51

Oh Lord I loved that! I was 26 when that came out, and a young professional. Where is that being shown?

ZenNudist · 13/03/2026 22:09

I think Thus Lufe was always more feted than it deserved to be. Launched the careers of some great actors though.

AWedgeOfLemonAndASmartAnswerForEverything · 13/03/2026 22:15

Outstanding.

Loved it so much, I had the DVD box set (until I got rid of my DVD player a couple of years ago) and have seen it a thousand times, so I won't bother rewatching the anniversary. I think it holds up, even though it's so of its time.

The ten year on episode wasn't good, they should have left well enough alone.

@Gazelda It's still making me smile 30 years on.

REDB99 · 13/03/2026 22:23

I re-watched it about 5 years ago and loved it as much as I did as a teenager! Agree that the 10 year episode was poor.

cheesychipsontheoche · 13/03/2026 22:24

Millie ❤️ awful yet not. I loved they were all flawed individuals. The soundtrack was immense - I believe we have Ricky Gervais to thank for that

Crunched · 13/03/2026 22:25

Isn't that just the normal shortened version of Edgar? That is the only Eg I've met in real life anyway.
